very good but not perfect. Only used for planning a trip and booking seats so far, we haven't activated it and used it to travel. One small irritating thing is a journey with multiple changes... the app shows the entire linked journey which is great. But if one leg requires a booked seat that isn't available, so you need to change leg 2 or 3 etc to a later train the app isn't flexible enough to allow a leg to be "later", you have to enter each leg as a separate journey to fix the timings.

More difficult and expensive than buying tickets at the train station. Maybe more comprehensive filters would help. I had to be very flexible and still ended up having to fly from Milan to Amsterdam because of strikes and wildly inconvenient layovers (midnight to 6am in a German station, for ex). Plus I had to pay extra for all but one trip, even with a 1st class ticket. I have 7 days left on my pass, I took 2 flights I hadn't planned on, for around $450 and the pass cost $600+ $15/ea. trip.

This has gone a long way since my last interrail trip 15 years ago, there are still a few quirks but it's hard to blame interrail for them, they have done an insane job. It's most of the time easy as child's play to plan a trip or book a reservation when needed. It makes me feel free as a bird. Don't expect a lot of comfort in all trains, go with the flow and relax because things will not always go as planned, but it's one of the best travelling experiences I've known, hugely recommend.
