this is great

couple questions -

im only interested in server not player, where i can run it on a desktop or laptop, and have it be available to jellyfin clients on a streaming box by the tv.

this is server?

also, can i update this to a slightly newer build by going to the official builds repo of jellyfin and selecting a recent stable .zip and unzipping that into the installed PAF folder? Or can your online paf update itself? (is it on the stable, stable beta, or nightly channel?)

thanks!

Updating the Portable Version

Thank you for using it!
Yes, this is the server version.
And yes, you can safely extract a newer binary build over the existing PAF installation folder — it won’t cause any issues, and you’ll still be able to use it in portable mode.

this one

will be a great backup for when my emby server gets corrupted or fails to work. i find emby has gotten very complex and bloated whereas jellyfin just gets the job done with less conplexity. thank you
