Don’t know if they do LLMs but they’ve had machine learning features for years. They added the ability to extract subjects from images and turning them into stickers back in 2023.

Before we adopted them, our hens belonged to my school’s principal. She would sometimes take home leftovers from the school cafeteria to feed the hens. The cockerel we adopted had a habit of whenever stroganoff was served, he’d run up, pick out all the sausage pieces and line them up on the ground for the hens to eat.
Papa Stroganoff was a fantastic bird. I miss having hens.
Leonto Technology@lemmy.world•Testing suggests Google's AI Overviews tell millions of lies per hourEnglish241·2 days agoDon’t know if I’d call that an intention of the machine but rather the creator. Hate to be that kind of person but it’s similar to the whole thing of “guns don’t kill, people do.”
LLMs aren’t people. They’re not self-aware and don’t have any inner complexities like say, a dog, or a sheep has. There’s no drive or motivation. It’s just maths.
If you tie someone to a train track, and a train comes along killing them, it’s not like the train or the track intended to kill the person. That was the intent of you, who “programmed” the scenario.
Similar to guns, strict control is what will be needed to fix these kinds of things. Megalomaniac billionaires who see people as nothing but numbers running amok with narcissistic manipulator systems isn’t a recipe for anything good.
Oh my gods. I love this series so much. I don’t know if I’d call the entire thing solar punk, rather the goal of the series seems to be to play with the idea of what life could look like if the person is vastly different from a human. I would highly recommend the entire series, though.
I love all of the books and rate them some of my favourites of all time, but my absolute favourite is Children of Memory. It took me a decent amount of time to figure out what was going on, and it was absolutely devastating. Then he turned it around and revealed that my conclusion was wrong, and it was even worse.
I love Kern as a character. She’s headstrong and steadfast in her beliefs from the get-go, and I find that really compelling in a person. She’s not without kindness though, even though that kindness often comes as a result of self-interest.
It’s a direct follow-up on a question about if you can create widgets on your home-page. At least I think that’s the interviewer asking a question, it could be a weird Trump-like ramble from the CEO as well.
I didn’t like the previous CEO, particularly given her connections to Airbnb, but this one is undeniably worse.
“Definitely, the idea of extensions and just customizations in general is: can you create more of like a natural language interface that lets people do everything they want?”
What?
“There’s really no reason for anyone to say, ‘This is your browser; you can do whatever you want,'” Varma added.
What??
Are they drunk, or is my reading comprehension failing? I don’t understand these sentences.
As the 100th man, the more hair on people the better.
Oh, I have seen those but never given them much thought. Thanks!
Is the metal circle meant to represent pizza?
The bunny, and the eggs are both symbols of fertility. I’ve no idea why it’s the way it is nowadays though. Commercialisation?
Leonto Technology@lemmy.world•Half of planned US data center builds have been delayed or canceled, growth limited by shortages of power infrastructure and parts from China — the AI build-out flips the breakersEnglish7·6 days agoI don’t think most companies will find much value in that though. I know that none of the infrastructure I work with uses heavy calculations, and if we tried to jam it in, we’d be making solutions looking for problems.
An email server doesn’t need a GPU, neither does a file server, or a website, or an e-commerce platform.
Suppose they could rent it out as supercomputers but I don’t think the return on cost is going to be that good.
Thank you, I am aware.

Love this. Was thinking about jokingly saying I don’t want to fuck a Monet, but decided against it. I’m glad someone else went with it and did a better job.
But they’re happy with an anos on their cake.

I say this to everyone, but my dog just genuinely loves everyone he comes across.
I was so stunned by the birthing process that I didn’t give much thought to the fucking. Read up on that and got stunned again.
Hyenas are amazing.
