- Aspect 1 is a tape-type diaper having, in an unfolded state, a liquid-absorbent absorbent body having a vertical direction and a horizontal direction that intersect with each other, a main body portion supporting the absorbent body, and a pair of side flap portions having at least a partially stretchable region, the pair of side flap portions being joined to both sides in the horizontal direction of the main body portion via side flap joining portions, the pair of side flap portions each having a first side flap portion which is a portion on one side in the vertical direction and a second side flap portion which is a portion on the other side in the vertical direction, the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion being separable in the vertical direction, the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion being engaged with the main body portion, a target member engageable with the engaging portion on the non-skin side of the other vertical direction; and a pair of leg elastic members stretchable in the vertical direction are provided on both horizontal sides; when the tape-
- the second side flap portion can be easily engaged diagonally upward when worn, and since the side flap portion is stretchable, the diaper is less likely to pressurize the sides and front of the thighs when moving, making it easier to avoid hindrance to movement. Also, due to the stretchability of the side flap portion, the part of the leg that is covered by the side flap portion fits closely to the body, but there is a risk that the part below the second side flap portion may not fit closely.
- the upper end of the leg elastic member is positioned above the lower end of the second side flap portion, so that the diaper can easily fit closely to the body even below the second side flap portion due to the leg elastic member 17. This improves the fit, prevents gaps from occurring between the diaper and the body, and suppresses leakage.
- Aspect 2 is a tape-type diaper having, in an unfolded state, a liquid-absorbent absorbent body having vertical and horizontal directions that intersect with each other, a main body portion that supports the absorbent body, and a pair of side flap portions having at least a partially stretchable stretchable region, each of the pair of side flap portions having two engagement portions that can engage with the main body portion, and the pair of side flap portions are respectively joined to both sides of the main body portion in the horizontal direction via side flap joints, and each of the pair of side flap portions has a first side flap portion that is a portion on one side in the vertical direction and a second side flap portion that is a portion on the other side in the vertical direction, and the first side
- the tape-type diaper has at least two of the following configurations: the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion each have one of the engagement portions, and the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion are separable in the vertical direction; the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion each have a convex portion protruding
- each of the above configurations allows the amount of coverage over the body to be adjusted.
- the first and second side flaps are separable, so that the first and second side flap parts can be engaged in different directions, and the amount of coverage can be reduced by engaging them so that they cross each other.
- the configuration with an engaged auxiliary member allows the amount of coverage to be reduced by overlapping and fastening one of the engaging parts of the first and second side flap parts to the other engaged auxiliary member.
- the configuration without a target member allows the position at which the engaging parts are fastened to be fastened not to the range of the target member, but to be fastened to a position that is not covered by the body. Reducing the range of coverage makes it easier for the legs to move, and the position can be adjusted to suit each user, preventing the occurrence of gaps and suppressing leakage.
- Aspect 3 is a tape-type diaper according to aspect 2, which has a ventral waist section, a rear waist section, and a crotch section, and further comprises at least one of the following configurations: a ventral waist section has a ventral waist elastic member stretchable in the horizontal direction at the vertical end of the ventral waist section; a rear waist section has a lateral waist elastic member stretchable in the horizontal direction at the vertical end of the rear waist section; a pair of leg elastic members stretchable in the vertical direction are provided on both sides in the horizontal direction; and the main body has a central elastic member stretchable in the vertical direction at least in the horizontal central portion of the crotch section.
- the configuration with the ventral or dorsal waist elastic members allows excessive pressure on the waist to be released while preventing gaps from forming between the diaper and the body
- the configuration with the leg elastic members allows excessive pressure on the leg areas to be released while preventing gaps from forming between the diaper and the body
- the configuration with the central elastic member allows excessive pressure on the crotch area to be released while preventing gaps from forming between the diaper and the body.
- Aspect 4 is the tape-type diaper according to aspect 2, in which the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion are separable in the vertical direction, the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion each have a convex portion protruding outward in the horizontal direction, the non-skin side of the convex portion is provided with an engaging auxiliary member with which the engaging portion can engage, the side flap portion has a side flap elastic member that is stretchable along the horizontal direction, and the stretchable region of the side flap portion is a region where the stretchability of the side flap elastic member is expressed.
- the first and second side flap sections can be overlapped and fastened together by having an engaging auxiliary member on the non-skin side, thereby adjusting the coverage area and ensuring ease of movement.
- the side flap elastic member allows the side flaps to be firmly stretched in the lateral direction.
- Aspect 5 is a tape-type diaper according to aspect 4, which has a ventral waist portion, a rear waist portion, and a crotch portion, the vertical end of the rear waist portion is provided with a rear waist elastic member that is stretchable in the horizontal direction, and the force required to stretch a region of the rear waist portion having a predetermined length in the vertical direction where the rear waist elastic member is provided by a unit length in the horizontal direction is smaller than the force required to stretch a region of the stretchable region of the side flap portion having the predetermined length in the vertical direction by the unit length in the horizontal direction.
- a tape-type diaper such as aspect 5
- the rear waist elastic member when worn, the rear waist elastic member is unlikely to stretch due to body pressure, but the portion where the rear waist elastic member is located is more stretchable than the side flap portion. Therefore, even if the side flap portion is overly stretched and engaged when worn, the aforementioned difficult-to-stretch state is released during movement, and the rear waist elastic member stretches, making it easy to adjust the pressure applied. By reducing the coverage area and adjusting the pressure applied, both ease of movement and resistance to leakage can be achieved.
- Aspect 6 is a tape-type diaper according to any one of aspects 1 to 5, in which the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion each have a convex portion that protrudes outward in the lateral direction, and an engaged auxiliary member with which the engaging portion can engage is provided on the non-skin side of the convex portion, and the engaged auxiliary member is provided only in the area that overlaps with the convex portion.
- a tape-type diaper such as aspect 6
- the corners are less likely to become hard and are less likely to cause pain or discomfort when they come into contact with the wearer's skin.
- Aspect 7 is a tape-type diaper according to any one of aspects 1 to 6, in which the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion each have a convex portion protruding outward in the horizontal direction, an engaged auxiliary member with which the engaging portion can engage is provided on the non-skin side of the convex portion, and the horizontal length of the engaged auxiliary member is longer than the horizontal length of the engaging portion and the maximum length in the vertical direction.
- the entire surface of the engaging portion can overlap with the engaged auxiliary member.
- the engaging portion on the first side flap portion and the engaging portion on the second side flap portion can be fastened in the same position. This makes it easier to fasten while adjusting the area of the body covered by the side flap portions.
- Aspect 8 is a tape-type diaper according to any one of aspects 1 to 7, in which grooves penetrating the side flap portion in the thickness direction have a perforated dividing line arranged intermittently along the horizontal direction, the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion each have a convex portion protruding outward in the horizontal direction, and an engaged auxiliary member with which the engaging portion can engage is provided on the non-skin side of the convex portion, the dividing line is provided between the engaged auxiliary member of the first side flap portion and the engaged auxiliary member of the second side flap portion in the vertical direction, and the dividing line has a mechanism that allows the side flap portion to be divided into the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion in the vertical direction by the dividing line.
- the division line does not overlap with the respective engaging auxiliary members of the first and second side flap portions, which prevents the rigidity of the parting line from increasing and makes it easier to tear along the division line.
- Aspect 9 is a tape-type diaper according to aspect 8, in which the groove portion located on the innermost side in the horizontal direction among the multiple groove portions included in the dividing line is formed in a linear shape that intersects with the vertical direction.
- a tear occurs further inward than the groove portion located on the innermost side in the horizontal direction, the tear is not guided vertically but toward the main body portion because the groove portion is formed in a line that intersects the vertical direction. Even if the tear reaches the main body portion, the tear can be stopped by the main body portion, which has high rigidity, and unexpected tears can be minimized.
- Aspect 10 is the tape-type diaper according to aspect 8, in which, when a position that is laterally outward from the outer end of the side flap joint by the lateral length of the side flap joint is taken as a reference position, the inner end of the dividing line in the lateral direction is located within a range from the outer end of the side flap joint in the lateral direction to the reference position in the lateral direction.
- the inner end is located near the side flap joint that joins the main body and the side flap, so the tear can be stopped at the side flap joint. This makes it easy to prevent the unexpected tear from spreading.
- Aspect 11 is a tape-type diaper according to any one of aspects 1 to 10, in which the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion each have a convex portion protruding outward in the lateral direction, the non-skin side of the convex portion is provided with an engaged auxiliary member with which the engaging portion can engage, the side flap portion has a side flap elastic member that can stretch along the lateral direction, the stretchable region of the side flap portion is a region where the stretchability of the side flap elastic member is expressed, and a non-stretchable region where the stretchability of the side flap elastic member is not expressed is formed outside the stretchable region in the lateral direction, and the engaged auxiliary member does not overlap the non-stretchable region when viewed in the thickness direction.
- the non-elastic region is a portion where the side flap elastic member itself remains, but the elasticity of the side flap member is not expressed. Since the engaged auxiliary member does not overlap with such a remaining portion of the side flap elastic member, unevenness due to the side flap elastic member is less likely to occur on the engaged auxiliary member, and the engagement force with the engagement portion is more likely to be stable.
- Aspect 12 is a tape-type diaper according to any one of aspects 1 to 11, in which the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion each have a convex portion protruding outward in the lateral direction, and an engaged auxiliary member with which the engaging portion can engage is provided on the non-skin side of the convex portion, the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion each have the stretchable region, and the sum of the lateral length of the engaged auxiliary member and the lateral length of the stretchable region in the stretched state is 50% or more of the lateral length of the portion of the first side flap portion and the second side flap portion that is located laterally outward of the main body portion.
- the stretchable region is wrinkled, so that it also functions as an engaged portion that engages the engaging portion.
- Aspect 13 is the tape-type diaper according to aspect 1, in which when the tape-type diaper is folded in half at the center in the vertical direction and imaginary lines are drawn dividing the folded tape-type diaper into thirds in the vertical direction, the lower end of the target member is located below the upper imaginary line that is the upper one of the imaginary lines.
- the target member is not positioned too high, making it easier to fasten the first side flap portion diagonally downward and the second side flap portion diagonally upward, making it possible to wear the diaper with a reduced coverage area around the waist and legs.
- Aspect 14 is a tape-type diaper according to any one of aspects 1 to 13, which has a ventral waist portion, a rear waist portion, and a crotch portion, and the main body portion has a central elastic member that is stretchable in the vertical direction at least in the horizontal center of the crotch portion, and when the tape-type diaper is folded in half at the vertical center position, with the side that is placed around the waist of the user in use being the upper side and the side that is placed between the user's crotch being the lower side, the second side flap portion is located lower than the first side flap portion, and the upper end of the central elastic member is located higher than the lower end of the second side flap portion.
- the elasticity of the side flap portion allows the portion of the waistline covered by the side flap portion to fit closely to the body, but there is a risk that the fit below the second side flap portion may be difficult.
- the upper end of the central elastic member is located above the lower end of the second side flap portion, the diaper can be more easily fitted to the body in the horizontal center portion from below the lower end of the second side flap portion, vertically straddling the lower end of the second side flap portion, and further above it.
- Aspect 15 is the tape-type diaper according to aspect 14, in which the central elastic member is provided in front of the central position of the tape-type diaper in the vertical direction, when the side that is positioned on the user's stomach during use is defined as the front side and the side that is positioned on the user's back is defined as the rear side.
- a tape-type diaper such as aspect 15
- the diaper is prevented from fitting too closely to the excretory opening during defecation, making it easier to ensure a sufficient amount of stool to be stored and reducing stool leakage.
- tape-type diaper An embodiment of the tape-type diaper according to the present invention will be described by taking as an example a tape-type disposable diaper 1 for adults (hereinafter, also simply referred to as diaper 1) that can be used in nursing care sites and the like.
- Fig. 1 is a plan view of the diaper 1 in an unfolded and stretched state.
- Fig. 2A is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along line A-A in Fig. 1.
- Fig. 2B is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along line B-B in Fig. 1.
- the "stretched state" of the diaper 1 refers to a state in which the diaper 1 has been stretched to such an extent that wrinkles that have occurred in the diaper 1 are substantially no longer visible, and refers to a state in which the diaper 1 has been stretched to such an extent that the dimensions of each of the components constituting the diaper 1 (e.g., the main body portion 10 and the side flap portions 20, which will be described later) match or are close to the dimensions of the individual components.
- the diaper 1 In the unfolded state shown in FIG. 1, the diaper 1 has a "vertical direction” and a “horizontal direction” that intersect with each other.
- the vertical direction is along the longitudinal direction of the main body 10, and when the diaper 1 is worn, the front side in the vertical direction is located on the wearer's abdomen, and the rear side in the vertical direction is located on the wearer's back.
- the part of the diaper 1 that is forward of the central position CL in the vertical direction is also referred to as the front side 10F
- the part behind the central position CL is also referred to as the rear side 10R.
- the diaper 1 is divided into three regions in the vertical direction, and has a ventral waist portion 1A that is placed against the wearer's abdomen when worn, a rear waist portion 1C that is placed against the wearer's back, and a crotch portion 1B that is located between the ventral waist portion 1A and the rear waist portion 1C in the vertical direction.
- the direction that intersects with the vertical and horizontal directions is referred to as the "thickness direction.”
- the thickness direction is the direction in which the materials that make up diaper 1 are layered, and the side that comes into contact with the wearer's skin in the thickness direction is the skin side, and the opposite side is the non-skin side.
- the diaper 1 of this embodiment is a so-called open-type tape-type disposable diaper, and has a liquid-absorbent absorbent 11, a main body portion 10 that supports the absorbent absorbent 11, and a pair of side flap portions 20, 20.
- the pair of side flap portions 20, 20 are joined to both lateral sides of the main body portion 10 via side flap joining portions 45, which will be described later.
- the absorbent body 11 has an absorbent core 11a that absorbs excrement such as urine, and liquid-permeable core wrap sheets 11b, 11c that cover the absorbent core 11a from both the skin side and non-skin side in the thickness direction (see Figures 2A and 2B).
- the absorbent core 11a is made of a liquid-absorbent material formed in a substantially rectangular shape along the vertical direction.
- the shape of the absorbent core 11a is not limited to a rectangular shape, and may be, for example, a substantially hourglass shape with the vertical center part narrowed in the horizontal direction.
- the liquid-absorbent material that constitutes the absorbent core 11a may be, for example, a liquid-absorbent fiber such as pulp fiber or a liquid-absorbent granular material such as a superabsorbent polymer (so-called SAP). It may also contain a liquid-absorbent material other than the liquid-absorbent fiber and liquid-absorbent granular material.

- the target member 50 can be a film or the like that has a female material (loop) that can easily catch the engaging protrusions (hooks) arranged on the surface of the engaging portion 25, and the target member 50 is joined to a predetermined area of the non-skin side of the exterior sheet 14.
- an area that can be engaged may be formed by processing a predetermined area of the non-skin side of the exterior sheet 14 to make it easy for the engaging protrusions of the engaging portion 25 to catch on.
- a central elastic member 60 such as rubber thread that is stretchable along the vertical direction is provided.
- the central elastic member 60 is attached to the non-skin side of the absorbent body 11 in a state in which it is stretched in the vertical direction at a predetermined stretch ratio, and imparts vertical stretchability to the main body 10 and the absorbent body 11.
- the central elastic member 60 is disposed between the back sheet 13 and the exterior sheet 14 so as to overlap with the absorbent body 11 when viewed in the thickness direction (see Figures 1 and 2A).
- a pair of vertically stretchable leg elastic members 17 are provided on both lateral sides of the diaper 1, mainly at the crotch portion 1B, so as to fit around the wearer's legs.
- the leg elastic members 17 are fixed in a longitudinally stretched state to the non-skin side of the side sheet 15.
- each lateral side of the diaper 1 fits around the wearer's legs, preventing leakage of excrement.
- three leg elastic members 17 are lined up horizontally on each lateral side of the diaper 1 in FIG. 1, the number is not limited to three.
- the vertical ends and at least the horizontal center of the rear waist portion 1C are provided with rear waist elastic members 18 that are stretchable in the horizontal direction.
- a plurality of rear waist elastic members 18 are arranged vertically and are attached in a stretched state in the horizontal direction. The stretchability exhibited by the rear waist elastic members 18 makes it easier for the rear waist portion 1C to fit the rear waist of the wearer when worn.
- FIG. 3A is a schematic plan view of the side flap portions 20 in a stretched state as seen from the skin side
- Fig. 3B is a diagram showing the cross-sectional structure of the side flap portions 20 in a stretched state
- Fig. 3C is a schematic plan view of the side flap portions 20 in a stretched state as seen from the non-skin side.
- the side flap portion 20 has a first skin side member 21, a second skin side member 22, a third skin side member 23, a non-skin side member 24, an engaging portion 25, and an engaged auxiliary member 26.
- the first skin side member 21 to the third skin side member 23, and the non-skin side member 24 are all made of sheet members such as nonwoven fabric.
- the first skin side member 21 is joined to the sheet member facing the non-skin side (non-skin side member 24 and part of the second skin side member 22) via a first joint 41 formed by an adhesive such as a hot melt adhesive.
- the second skin side member 22 is joined to the sheet member facing the non-skin side (non-skin side member 24) via a second joint 42
- the third skin side member 23 is joined to the sheet member facing the non-skin side (non-skin side member 24 and part of the second skin side member 22) via a third joint 43.
- the side flap portion 20 has at least a stretchable region that is stretchable in part. Specifically, a plurality of side flap elastic members 31, 31... are provided between the second skin side member 22 and the non-skin side member 24 in the thickness direction.
- the side flap elastic members 31 are made of an elastic member such as rubber thread, and are attached via the second joint 42 in a state stretched in the lateral direction at a predetermined stretch ratio.
- the stretchable region of the side flap portion 20 is the region where the stretchability of the side flap elastic members 31 is expressed, and this stretchable region gives the side flap portion 20 lateral stretchability.
- an engagement portion 25 is provided on the skin side of the third skin side member 23 at the lateral outer portion of the side flap portion 20.
- the engagement portion 25 is a portion for engaging with the target member 50 provided on the main body portion 10 when the diaper 1 is worn, and has a plurality of engagement protrusions (male material, hooks) on the skin side surface.
- a hook-and-loop fastener can be used as a material for the engagement portion 25.
- an engaged auxiliary member 26 is provided on the non-skin side of the non-skin side member 24 at the lateral outer portion of the side flap portion 20.
- the engaged auxiliary member 26 is formed of a target tape made of a film or the like having a female material (loop) similar to the target member 50 described above, and can be engaged with the engagement portion 25 when the diaper 1 is worn.
- the side flap portion 20 has a first side flap portion 20A which is a portion on one side in the vertical direction (the rear side in FIG. 1), and a second side flap portion 20B which is a portion on the other side in the vertical direction (the front side in FIG. 1).
- the first side flap portion 20A has a first convex portion 20AC which protrudes outward in the horizontal direction, and the first convex portion 20AC is provided with a first engaging portion 25A and a first engaged auxiliary member 26A (see FIG. 3A and FIG. 3C).
- the second side flap portion 20B has a second convex portion 20BC which protrudes outward in the horizontal direction, and the second convex portion 20BC is provided with a second engaging portion 25B and a second engaged auxiliary member 26B.
- the diaper 1 has two engaging portions 25 and two engaged auxiliary members 26 on each of the pair of left and right side flap portions 20, 20.
- the first side flap portion 20A and the second side flap portion 20B can be separated vertically by a dividing line 28 that extends horizontally. Details of the dividing line 28 will be described later.
- FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating an example of a state in which the diaper 1 is worn.
- the rear portion 10R of the diaper 1 is placed on the back side (buttocks side) of the wearer, and the front portion 10F (abdominal waist portion 1A) is turned around the wearer's lower abdomen side so as to pass the crotch portion 1B between the wearer's legs.
- the diaper 1 is turned around the front side (abdominal side) along the wearer's waist so as to overlap the non-skin side of the front portion 10F.
- the engaging portions 25 provided on the pair of side flap portions 20, 20 are engaged with the target members 50 provided on the non-skin side of the front portion 10F.
- the side flap portion 20 is divided into one side and the other side in the vertical direction (i.e., the upper side and the lower side in the vertical direction of the wearer's body) along the dividing line 28.
- This allows the first side flap portion 20A on one side (upper side) in the vertical direction and the second side flap portion 20B on the other side (lower side) in the vertical direction to move independently.
- the side flap portion 20 is stretchable in the horizontal direction due to the elasticity exhibited by the side flap elastic member 31. Therefore, the movable range of the first side flap portion 20A and the second side flap portion 20B is expanded, and the diaper 1 can be fitted to the waist circumference of the wearer and the leakage of excrement can be suppressed.
- the tape-type diaper 1 of this embodiment can be fitted to the body using the separable first side flap portion 20A and second side flap portion 20B.
- the diaper covers the front side of the body in the leg area (mainly the area circled by the thick dotted line in FIG. 4) and applies force, it may limit the range of motion of the hip joint.
- the side flap portion 20 is fastened, there is a risk that the movement of the hip joint of the care recipient may be fixed, which may hinder the movement of the hip joint of the care recipient, especially during rehabilitation.
- Fig. 5A is a schematic plan view of the diaper 1 when folded in half at the vertical center from the unfolded state, as viewed from the front
- Fig. 5B is a schematic plan view of the diaper 1 when folded in half at the vertical center from the unfolded state, as viewed from the rear. As shown in Fig.
- the second side flap portion 20B is located below the first side flap portion 20A, and the lower end 50ed of the target member 50 is located above the vertical center 25CL of the engagement portion 25B of the second side flap portion 20B.
- the upper end 17eu of the leg elastic member 17 is located above the lower end 20Bed of the second side flap portion 20B.
- the second side flap portion 20B is positioned lower relative to the target member 50, so that when the second side flap portion 20B is engaged, the second side flap portion 20B is naturally pulled diagonally upward. More specifically, as shown in FIG. 4, when worn, the second side flap portion 20B is stretched diagonally upward, and the second engagement portion 25B is easily engaged with the target member 50 so as to cross the first side flap portion 20A.
- the part of the leg circumference covered by the side flap portion 20 adheres closely to the body, but there is a risk that the part below the second side flap portion 20B may not adhere well.
- the upper end 17eu of the leg circumference elastic member 17 of the diaper 1 is positioned above the lower end 20Bed of the second side flap portion 20B, so that the diaper 1 adheres easily to the body even below the second side flap portion 20B due to the leg circumference elastic member 17. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of gaps between the diaper 1 and the body and suppress leakage. In this way, it is possible to both avoid a decrease in mobility in the hip joint area and suppress leakage.
- the engagement positions of the first side flap portion 20A and the second side flap portion 20B shown in FIG. 4 are one example, and the horizontal and vertical engagement positions of the first and second engagement portions 25A and 25B can be freely adjusted.
- the second engagement portion 25B of the second side flap portion 20B is engaged at a position overlapping with the first side flap portion 20A. This is because the first engaged auxiliary member 26A is provided on the non-skin side of the first side flap portion 20A (the surface opposite to the surface on which the first engagement portion 25A is provided), and therefore it is possible to engage the second engagement portion 25B with the first engaged auxiliary member 26A as well.
- FIG. 4 an example is described in which the first side flap portion 20A is engaged with the target member 50, and then the second side flap portion 20B is engaged, but the order of engagement may be reversed.
- the second side flap portion 20B may be engaged with the target member 50 first, and then the first side flap portion 20A may be engaged.
- a target member 50 is provided on the non-skin side of the front portion 10F of the main body portion 10, but as described above, the non-skin side on the other vertical side of the diaper 1 (the front side in Figure 1) may be configured not to have a target member 50 separate from the sheet (outer sheet 14) that constitutes the non-skin side.
- the first side flap portion 20A and the second side flap portion 20B are vertically divisible, the first side flap portion 20A and the second side flap portion 20B each have a convex portion (first convex portion 20AC, second convex portion 20BC) that protrudes outward in the horizontal direction, and the non-skin side of the convex portion is provided with an engaged auxiliary member 26 (26A, 26B) with which the engaging portion 25 (25A, 25B) can engage, and there is no target member 50 that is separate from the sheet (exterior sheet 14) that constitutes the non-skin side of the diaper 1 and that can engage with the engaging portion 25 (25A, 25B), the synergistic effect of each configuration can reduce the coverage area around the legs of the diaper 1 while improving the fit.
- each of the three configurations described above allows the amount of coverage that the diaper 1 provides to the body to be adjusted.
- the first side flap portion 20A and the second side flap portion 20B are separable, allowing the first side flap portion 20A and the second side flap portion 20B to be engaged in different directions, improving fit by keeping them in a position that suits the wearer's body shape, while engaging them so that they cross each other can reduce the amount of coverage.
- the configuration with the engaged auxiliary members 26 allows the engaging portion 25 (25A or 25B) of one of the first side flap portion 20A and the second side flap portion 20B to be overlapped and fastened to the other engaged auxiliary member (i.e., fastening the engaging portion 25A to the engaged auxiliary member 26B, or fastening the engaging portion 25B to the engaged auxiliary member 26A), thereby reducing the amount of coverage and making it easier to avoid a decrease in the mobility of the hip joint area.
- the position at which the engaging portion 25 is fastened is not limited to the range of the target member 50, and it is possible to fasten it at a position that is not covered by the body, or to engage it at a position that matches the size of the wearer's thigh. Therefore, the reduction in the amount of coverage makes it easier to move the hip joint, and it is easier to adjust the position to suit each user, improving the fit, preventing gaps and suppressing leakage.
- ventral waist portion 1A is not provided with a member that imparts lateral stretchability, but a ventral waist elastic member (not shown) that is stretchable in the lateral direction may be provided at the longitudinal end of the ventral waist portion 1A, such as the rear waist elastic member 18 of the rear waist portion 1C.
- the diaper 1 has at least one of the following configurations: a ventral waist elastic member that is stretchable in the lateral direction is provided at the longitudinal end of the ventral waist portion 1A; a rear waist elastic member 18 that is stretchable in the lateral direction is provided at the longitudinal end of the rear waist portion 1C; a pair of leg elastic members 17 that are stretchable in the lateral direction are provided at both lateral sides; and the main body 10 has a central elastic member 60 that is stretchable in the lateral direction at least in the lateral central portion of the crotch portion 1B, the pressure applied to the area covered by the diaper 1 can be adjusted.
- the configuration with the ventral waist elastic member or the posterior waist elastic member 18 provides lateral stretchability to the waist portion, and while releasing excessive pressure on the waist, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of gaps between the body and the diaper.
- the configuration with the leg elastic member 17 releases excessive pressure around the legs, and similarly prevents the occurrence of gaps between the body and the diaper.
- the configuration with the central elastic member 60 allows the absorbent core 11a to fit against the wearer's skin while releasing excessive pressure on the crotch area, and similarly prevents the occurrence of gaps between the body and the diaper. Therefore, by providing at least one of these configurations, leakage can be prevented. Therefore, by providing this configuration in addition to the above-mentioned aspect for avoiding a decrease in mobility while wearing the diaper 1, it becomes easier to achieve both ease of movement and resistance to leakage.
- the back waist elastic member 18 allows the pressure applied to the back of the wearer to be adjusted, and the stretchable region of the side flap section 20 functions to fit the waist when the diaper 1 is worn.
- the force required to stretch the region having a predetermined length in the vertical direction in the part of the back waist section 1C where the back waist elastic member 18 is provided by a unit length in the horizontal direction is smaller than the force required to stretch the region having the predetermined length in the vertical direction in the stretchable region of the side flap section 20 by the unit length in the horizontal direction.
- the part where the back waist elastic member 18 is provided is easier to stretch than the side flap section 20.
- the above-mentioned predetermined length and unit length may each be, for example, 10 mm.
- the force required to stretch by such a unit length is measured, for example, as follows. First, prepare multiple samples by cutting out the portion where the back waist elastic member 18 is provided and the stretchable area of the side flap portion 20 to a size of 20 mm length x 50 mm width (each with a size of 50 mm in the stretch direction), and clamp each lateral end in the chuck of a tensile tester to measure the strength required to stretch the sample 10 mm in the lateral direction at a speed of 100 mm/min. The average values of the measurement results for each sample are then compared.
- the portion where the rear waist elastic member 18 is located When the diaper 1 is worn, the portion where the rear waist elastic member 18 is located is pressed under the wearer's body (back), making it difficult to stretch due to body pressure when worn.
- the portion where the rear waist elastic member 18 is located is easier to stretch than the side flap portion 20, even if the side flap portion 20 is excessively stretched and engaged when worn, the aforementioned difficult-to-stretch state is released during movement, and the rear waist elastic member 18 stretches, making it easier to adjust the wearing pressure.
- the coverage area of the diaper 1 By overlapping and fastening the first side flap portion 20A and the second side flap portion 20B, the coverage area of the diaper 1 can be adjusted. Therefore, by reducing the coverage area of the diaper 1 while adjusting the pressure applied, ease of movement and reduced leakage can be achieved at the same time.
- the engaged auxiliary member 26 (26A, 26B) is provided only in the range overlapping with the first convex portion 20AC and the second convex portion 20BC (see FIG. 3C).
- the material weight is high and the area tends to become hard.
- the material weight is unlikely to be high, and the upper and lower corners of the side flap portion 20 (corners 20Ah, 20Bh in FIG. 3A and FIG. 3C) are unlikely to become hard. Therefore, even if the corners 20Ah, 20Bh come into contact with the wearer's skin when the diaper 1 is worn, it is possible to reduce the risk of causing pain or discomfort to the wearer.
- the engaged auxiliary members 26 are not limited to being provided only in the area overlapping the first convex portion 20AC and the second convex portion 20BC when viewed in the thickness direction, and may also be provided in the area not overlapping the first convex portion 20AC and the second convex portion 20BC as long as they do not overlap the upper and lower corners (20Ah, 20Bh) of the side flap portion 20 described above.
- the rigidity of the side flap portion 20 is increased, making the side flap portion 20 less likely to wrinkle and easier to fit to the body.
- the horizontal length L1 of the engaged auxiliary member 26 is longer than the horizontal length L2 and the maximum vertical length L3 of the engaging portion 25 (L1>L2, L1>L3).
- the horizontal length L1 of the engaged auxiliary member 26 is longer than the maximum vertical length L3 of the engaging portion 25, so that the entire surface of the engaging portion 25 can overlap with the engaged auxiliary member 26.
- the engaging portion 25A on the first side flap portion 20A side and the engaging portion 25B on the second side flap portion 20B side can be fastened in the same position. This makes it easier to adjust the area of the body covered by the side flap portion 20.
- the side flap elastic member 31 is attached to the side flap portion 20 by the second joint 42, and imparts stretchability to the side flap portion 20 in the lateral direction in an area overlapping with the second joint 42.
- stretchability is not imparted to the side flap portion 20.
- an inner non-stretchable area N31i where the stretchability of the side flap elastic member 31 is not exhibited is formed laterally inward of the stretchable area E31.
- an outer non-stretchable area N31o is formed laterally outboard of the stretchable area E31, where the side flap elastic member 31 does not exhibit stretchability.
- the engaged auxiliary member 26 does not overlap with the non-stretchable region N31o (Fig. 3B).
- the non-stretchable region N31o is a portion where the elasticity of the side flap elastic member 31 is not expressed, but the side flap elastic member 31 itself, such as rubber thread, remains.
- the engaged auxiliary member 26 may have a portion overlapping with the non-stretchable region N31ellowritable region N31ellowritable region N31ellowritable region N31ellowritable region N31ellowritable region N31ellowritable region N31ellowritable region N31ellowritable region N31ellowritable region N31ellowritable region N31ellowritable region N31ello-like material.
- the portion inside the lateral inner end of the engaged auxiliary member 26 is a portion where a change in rigidity occurs (rigidity decreases), that is, the vicinity of the lateral inner end 26ie of the engaged auxiliary member 26 is a region where force is likely to be applied when the side flap portion 20 is pulled, and is likely to tear during repeated engagement operations when putting on the diaper 1.
- the portion of the side flap elastic member 31 that exhibits elasticity (the portion of the so-called effective length, the elastic region E31 in FIG. 3B) is shown with a dotted line.
- the lateral length of the elastic region E31 of the side flap portion 20 in the stretched state is L4.
- the inner non-stretch region N31i laterally inward of the elastic region E31 and the outer non-stretch region N31o laterally outward are shown with finer dotted lines than the elastic region E31 (the finer dotted lines correspond to the above-mentioned residual portion of the side flap elastic member 31).
- the sum of the lateral length L1 of the engaged auxiliary member 26 and the lateral length L4 of the stretched region E31 of the side flap portion 20 in the stretched state is preferably 50% or more of the lateral length L5 of the portion of the first side flap portion 20A and the second side flap portion 20B that is located laterally outward from the main body portion 10 (the portion outside the lateral outer end 45et of the side flap joint portion 45). Since wrinkles are formed in the stretched region E31 of the side flap portion 20 when it is contracted, it also functions as an engaged portion that engages the engaging portion 25. By being able to engage the engaging portion 25 with both the stretched region E31 and the engaged auxiliary member 26, it becomes easier to adjust the amount of coverage of the diaper 1.
- the diaper 1 of this embodiment has a mechanism that allows the side flap portion 20 to be divided vertically into a first side flap portion 20A and a second side flap portion 20B by a dividing line 28.
- a dividing line 28 in the form of perforations is provided between the engaged auxiliary member 26A of the first side flap portion 20A and the engaged auxiliary member 26B of the second side flap portion 20B in the vertical direction, in which grooves (slits, groove portions 28g described later) penetrating the side flap portion 20 in the thickness direction are intermittently arranged along the horizontal direction (see Figs. 3A and 3C).
- the dividing line 28 does not overlap with the respective engaged auxiliary members 26A, 26B of the first side flap portion 20A and the second side flap portion 20B, which prevents the rigidity of the portion where the dividing line 28 is formed from increasing, making it easier to divide (tear) the side flap portion 20 along the dividing line 28.
- the perforated dividing line 28 is composed of a number of grooves 28g, 28g... arranged intermittently along the horizontal direction, and a non-penetrating portion 28t (a portion that does not penetrate in the thickness direction) formed between two adjacent grooves 28g, 28g.
- the respective horizontal lengths of the non-penetrating portions 28t provided at the horizontal inner ends 28ei of the dividing line 28 are longer than the respective horizontal lengths of the non-penetrating portions 28t provided at the horizontal center portions 28ct of the dividing line 28.
- the side flap portion 20 when the side flap portion 20 is divided along the perforated dividing line 28, when passing the center portion 28ct and moving toward the lateral inner end (the inner end 28ee in FIG. 6 described below), the side flap portion 20 is less likely to tear at the inner end 28ei compared to the center portion 28ct, making it easier to avoid tearing beyond the lateral inner end of the dividing line 28.
- the groove 28ged located on the innermost side in the horizontal direction is formed in a line intersecting the vertical direction.
- the groove 28ged is formed in a line intersecting the vertical direction, so that the tear is not guided in the vertical direction but is guided toward the main body portion 10.
- the main body portion 10 specifically, the side flap joint portion 45
- the tear can be stopped by the main body portion 10, which has a higher rigidity than the side flap portion 20, and such unexpected tear is kept to a minimum.
- FIG. 6 is a diagram showing a part of the side flap portion 20.
- the lateral inner end 28ee of the division line 28 (corresponding to the lateral inner end of the groove portion 28ged in FIG. 3A) is located within a range from the lateral outer end 45et of the side flap joint 45 to the reference position P in the lateral direction.
- a central elastic member 60 is provided along the vertical direction at least in the horizontal center of the crotch portion 1B of the main body 10 of the diaper 1.
- the elasticity of the central elastic member 60 makes it easier to press the absorbent core 11a against the wearer's skin, improving the fit of the diaper 1 and making it easier to suppress excretion leakage.
- the upper end 60eu of the central elastic member 60 is located above the lower end 20Bed of the second side flap portion 20B in the front portion 10F ( Figure 5A).
- the elasticity of the side flap portion 20 makes it easy for the part of the wearer's waist covered by the side flap portion 20 to adhere to the body, but there is a risk that it may be difficult to adhere to the lower side of the second side flap portion 20B.
- the diaper 1 can be easily fitted to the body in the horizontal center portion from below the lower end 20Bed of the second side flap portion 20B to vertically straddling the lower end 20Bed of the second side flap portion 20B and further above. This makes it possible to suppress the occurrence of gaps on the abdominal side and prevent leakage.
- the central elastic member 60 is provided forward of the longitudinal center position CL of the diaper 1 (Fig. 1). By not providing the central elastic member 60 on the longitudinal rear side of the diaper 1, it is possible to prevent the diaper 1 from coming into too close contact with the excretion opening during defecation, making it easier to ensure a sufficient amount of stool to be stored, and reducing stool leakage.
- the engaging portion 25 is provided with a male material (hook) such as an engaging protrusion
- the engaged assisted member 26 is provided with a female material (loop)
- the engaging portion 25 may be provided with a female material (loop) and the engaged assisted member 26 may be provided with a male material (hook), or the engaging portion 25 may contain a mixture of male and female materials.
