Definitions
- the present invention relates to a filter, a flavor inhaling article comprising the filter, and a manufacturing apparatus and manufacturing method for the filter.
- Patent Document 1 discloses a method for manufacturing a variable compression web material.
- the method comprises the steps of providing a continuous web of material, crimping a first region of web material at a first crimp value, and compressing a second region of web material adjacent to the first region to a first compression value. and crimping at two crimp values.
- the web material is pressed using a pair of rollers. Each roller is formed with a corrugated portion across its width, that is, along the axial direction of each roller.
- this wave-shaped portion is formed along the circumference of each roller, that is, along the circumferential direction of each roller.
- the corrugated sections are interleaved with each other along the axial direction of each roller to compress the web material. Specifically, the troughs of the wavy portions formed along the outer peripheral surface of each roller press the web material with a first compression value, and the wavy shape formed along the outer peripheral surface of each roller. crimps the web material at a second crimp value.
- the corrugated portions are ridges and grooves formed along the entire circumference of the outer peripheral surface of each roller, and the ridges and grooves are formed at a predetermined pitch in the axial direction of each roller. be done. For this reason, the number of meshing portions where the protruding line and the recessed line are meshed is constant. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 3 of Patent Document 1, an airflow directing element formed from a crimped web material, in other words, a filter, has a crimp value of Although different, a large number of crimped portions having a uniform corrugated wave shape are formed in the web material at predetermined intervals over the entire length of the web material.
- Patent Document 1 When the web material of Patent Document 1 is used as a filter material for a flavor inhaling article (hereinafter also simply referred to as an article), the web material is formed with a large number of crimped portions having a uniform shape, so the porosity of the filter is reduced. decrease, and the ventilation resistance of the filter increases. As a result, the suction force required for the user to suck the article increases, so the amount of the flavor component that the user can ingest from the article 1 per puff decreases, the so-called sucking response of the article decreases, and the smoking taste is impaired. There is a risk that
- the crimped portion since the crimped portion must have a uniform shape of ridges or grooves, filters with various variations cannot be formed. In addition, forming a large number of crimped portions of a uniform shape in the web material may reduce the rigidity of the filter and cause breakage of the filter. In addition, when a large number of crimped portions having a uniform shape are formed in the web material, a large amount of material powder (paper powder in the case of a paper web) is generated when the web material is crimped. A large amount of material powder contaminates the facility significantly, increasing the burden of cleaning the facility and reducing the productivity of the filter.
- the present invention has been made in view of such problems, and by reducing ventilation resistance and increasing rigidity, the quality of filters and flavor inhaling articles is improved, and the productivity of filters and flavor inhaling articles is improved.

- a conductive member such as a metal plate or metal grains may be mixed in the flavor raw material 10 .
- the presence of the electrically conductive member causes the device to generate a magnetic field and the induced current of the magnetic field heats the flavor element 2 .
- the flavor raw material 10 is, for example, shredded tobacco, shredded tobacco sheets, or gathered tobacco sheets.
- the flavor raw material 10 is a sheet formed from pulp not containing tobacco to which a flavor is added, a sheet formed from a non-tobacco plant and shredded, or a sheet formed by folding these sheets into a corrugated shape. can be

- a direction is defined as the width direction Y of the sheet 24 .
- the sheet 24 has a first crimped region 26 in a partial region extending in the longitudinal direction X, and a second crimped region 28 in a region adjacent to the first crimped region 26 of the sheet 24 in the longitudinal direction X.
- the area A1 of the first crimped region 26 is less than or equal to the area A2 of the second crimped region 28 .
- the sheet filling unit 16 shown in FIG. 1 crimps the sheet 24 and then gathers the sheet 24 in the width direction Y, in other words, gathers and bundles the sheet 24, and reduces the diameter to the diameter of the filter 6 or less. It is formed. Therefore, in the axial direction X, the length of the first filling portion 20 is the length of the second filling portion 22 or less.
