Description
位置検出センサが搭載されて、所定面積の操作面を備えた本体部と、前記本体部に対して取り付けられる拡張部とからなる位置入力装置であって、

前記本体部側面に対して設けられた1以上の螺子穴と

前記拡張部は、
前記本体部側面の前記螺子穴に対応する螺子山が設けられた軸部と前記軸部の中心軸方向に厚みを有する頭部とを有する螺子を備え、
前記螺子は、前記軸部を拡張部側面から外側に突出させるようにして当該拡張部の内側から設けられ、前記螺子の頭部側面は、当該拡張部の上面側に露呈して、使用者によって回動可能にされており、
前記本体部側面の前記螺子穴に前記螺子を螺合させることにより、前記本体部に対して前記拡張部が取り付けられる
ことを特徴とする位置入力装置を提供する。
図1は、実施の形態のタブレット装置(位置入力装置)の外観図である。図1に示すように、この実施の形態のタブレット装置は、本体部1と拡張部2とからなる。本体部1は、使用者(ユーザ)からの筆記入力や描画入力である位置指示入力(ポインティング操作)を受け付ける機能を実現する部分である。また、拡張部2は、本体部1に取り付けられることにより、タブレット装置の使い勝手を良くしたり、機能を拡張したりする部分である。
図2は、実施の形態のタブレット装置(位置入力装置)の本体部1の分解斜視図である。図2に示すように、タブレット装置の本体部1は、長方形状の底面の縁に沿って本体部側面15U、15R、15D、15Lが設けられて構成されたトレイ状の本体部筐体15内の最下層にマザーボード14が収納され、その上にLCD13が積層される。LCD13の表示画面13Dの上には、位置検出センサ12が設けられる。位置検出センサ12の上側にはフロントパネル11が設けられる。このように、マザーボード14、LCD13、位置検出センサ12が、本体部筐体15内に収納され、フロントパネル11により封入されて、本体部1が構成される。なお、本体部側面15U、15R、15D、15Lの上面が、操作面1Sの枠部15fとなる。また、図1の最下段に示したように、本体部筐体15の右側側面15Rの長手方向の中央近傍には、詳しくは後述する螺子穴1Hが設けられている。
図5は、実施の形態のタブレット装置(位置入力装置)の拡張部2の外観を説明するための図であり、具体的に、図5(A)は拡張部2の正面側斜視図であり、図5(B)は拡張部2の背面側斜視図である。図5(A)、(B)に示すように、拡張部2は、拡張部筐体21と、天板22と、螺子23とを備えて構成される。拡張部筐体21は、図5(A)、(B)に示すように、長手方向の両端が円弧状に形成され、長手方向の中央部分が窪んで筐体凹部21Reとなったものである。また、拡張部筐体21は、拡張部筐体21の長手方向と直交する方向であって、拡張部筐体21の側面と平行な方向に所定の厚み(深さ)を有し、詳しくは後述するが、内側が空間となって、上面が開口となった箱状体である。
図7は、実施の形態のタブレット装置(位置入力装置)の本体部1に拡張部2を接続した場合の両者が接する部分の断面図である。具体的に、図7(A)は、螺子23が設けられた拡張部2の長手方向の中央部分(筐体凹部21Re及び天板凹部22Reの部分)の断面図であり、図7(B)は、それ以外の部分である天板22の天板溝部22Gvが設けられている部分の断面図である。
螺子23のサイズは、本体部1の右側側面15Rの高さや厚みなどに応じて、適宜のサイズとすることができる。具体的に、螺子23の軸部23Sfの直径は、本体部1の右側側面15Rの高さ(操作面1Sに対して直交する方向の右側側面15Rの長さ)に応じて、適宜のサイズとすることができる。例えば、本体部1の右側側面の高さが10mm(ミリメートル)以上あれば、螺子23の軸部23Sfの直径は、例えば1/4インチ(6.35mm)程度とする。従って、本体部1の右側側面に設ける螺子穴1Hもこれに対応するものとなる。これにより、本体部1に対して拡張部2を強固に取り付けることが可能になる。すなわち、螺子23は、いわゆるカメラ螺子と称されるものであってもよい。
上述した実施の形態のタブレット装置によれば、本体部1に対して拡張部2を、螺子23の1本だけで、簡単に、かつ、強固に取り付けて、本体部1と拡張部2とからなるタブレット装置を実現できる。また、本体部1に対して取り付けた、拡張部2は、螺子23を緩めるように操作することにより簡単に取り外すこともできる。
<拡張部の他の例>
上述した実施の形態の拡張部2はペン置きであり、拡張部筐体21と、天板22と、螺子23とを備え、天板に溝部(凹部)22Gvを設けるようにしたが、これに限るものではない。例えば、天板22は設けずに、上面が開口となった箱状の拡張部筐体21内に、電子ペンを直接に収納する構成のものとしてもよい。この場合、拡張部2は、拡張部筐体21と、螺子23とからなるものとなる。
上述した実施の形態では、本体部1の右側側面15Rに拡張部2を接続する(取り付ける)ものとして説明したが、これに限るものではない。すなわち、本体部1の上側側面15U、下側側面15D、左側側面15Lに、螺子23に対応する螺子穴をもけるようにすれば、上側側面15U、下側側面15D、左側側面15Lにも、拡張部2を接続することができる。また、右側側面15Rの場合と同様に、上側側面15U、下側側面15D、左側側面15Lにも複数の螺子穴を設けることも可能である。
なお、本体部1においてフロントパネル11は、図7に示したように、本体部筐体15の上面からはめ込むものとしたが、これに限るものではない。本体部筐体15の上側側面15U、右側側面15R、下側側面15D、左側側面15Lのそれぞれの上面に載置するようにしてもよい。いずれの場合にも、本体部筐体15からフロントパネル11が容易に外れることが無いようにする必要がある。

Claims (11)
- 位置検出センサが搭載されて、所定面積の操作面を備えた本体部と、前記本体部に対して取り付けられる拡張部とからなる位置入力装置であって、
前記本体部は、
前記操作面に対して交差する方向に厚みを有する本体部側面と、
前記本体部側面に対して設けられた1以上の螺子穴と
を備え、
前記拡張部は、
前記本体部側面の前記螺子穴に対応する螺子山が設けられた軸部と前記軸部の中心軸方向に厚みを有する頭部とを有する螺子を備え、
前記螺子は、前記軸部を拡張部側面から外側に突出させるようにして当該拡張部の内側から設けられ、前記螺子の頭部側面は、当該拡張部の上面側に露呈して、使用者によって回動可能にされており、
前記本体部側面の前記螺子穴に前記螺子を螺合させることにより、前記本体部に対して前記拡張部が取り付けられる
ことを特徴とする位置入力装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置入力装置であって、
前記本体部に対して前記拡張部が取り付けられた場合に、前記本体部の前記操作面と前記拡張部の前記上面とは同一平面に位置し、前記螺子の頭部側面は、前記拡張部の前記上面から突出しない
ことを特徴とする位置入力装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置入力装置であって、
前記螺子の前記頭部の直径は、前記操作面に対して交差する方向の前記本体部側面の長さの8割以下の長さである
ことを特徴とする位置入力装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置入力装置であって、
前記螺子の前記軸部の直径は、1/4インチ以下である
ことを特徴とする位置入力装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置入力装置であって、
前記螺子の前記軸部の前記拡張部側面から外側に突出した部分の長さは、前記本体部側面の前記操作面と平行な方向の厚み以下である
ことを特徴とする位置入力装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置入力装置であって、
前記螺子の前記軸部の軸心方向の長さは、4.5mm以下である
ことを特徴とする位置入力装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置入力装置であって、
前記本体部には、薄型の表示素子が搭載され、前記位置検出センサは、前記表示素子の表示画面の前面に、あるいは、前記表示素子の表示画面の背面に設けられている
ことを特徴とする位置入力装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置入力装置であって、
前記拡張部は、物品を載置したり保持したりするもの、あるいは、拡張機能を内蔵するものである
ことを特徴とする位置入力装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置入力装置であって、
前記拡張部は、電子ペンを載置するためのペン置きである
ことを特徴とする位置入力装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置入力装置であって、
前記拡張部は、電子ペンを載置するためのペン置きであり、電子ペンを保持するための凹部を有する
ことを特徴とする位置入力装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置入力装置であって、
前記拡張部は、電子ペンを載置するためのペン置きであり、電子ペンを保持するための凹部を備えた天板を有し、
前記天板の下側には、前記電子ペンの芯体の収納部が設けられており、
前記天板は取り外し可能になっている
