Description
この場合、前記圧電素子は、平面視縦横寸法の最大値が4.0mm以下の平面視矩形状、直径が4.0mm以下の平面視円形状、又は、長径が4.0mm以下の平面視楕円形状とされ、前記凹部は、前記圧電素子の周縁領域及び前記支持板の平面視重合幅が0.05mm~0.1mmとなるように、前記圧電素子の平面視相似形状とされる。
より好ましくは、前記第2板体は、セラミックスで形成される。
前記筒状部は、開口幅が前記凹部の開口幅より小で且つ厚み方向全域に亘って同一開口幅とされ、前記ホーン部は、前記筒状部に連通する基端側から前記支持面の第2面に開口された前記音波放射口に近接するに従って、開口幅が大きくなるように構成される。
前記上側封止板は、前記複数の圧電素子のそれぞれに対応した位置に開口部を有する。
以下、本発明に係る超音波トランスデューサーの一実施の形態について、添付図面を参照しつつ説明する。

前記超音波トランスデューサー1Bは、前記支持板10が支持板100に変更されている点においてのみ、前記超音波トランスデューサー1Aと相違している。
前記可撓性樹脂膜20は、接着剤又は熱圧着等の種々の方法によって前記支持板10(100)に固着される。
また、図5(b)に、図5(a)におけるV-V線に沿った断面図を示す。
前記圧電素子30は、圧電素子本体32と、一対の第1及び第2電極とを有し、前記第1及び第2電極の間に電圧が印可されると伸縮するように構成されている。
積層型圧電素子は、単層型圧電素子に比して、同一電圧印可時に電界強度を高めることができ、印可電圧当たりの伸縮変位を大きくすることができる。
従って、前記複数の振動体が発生する音波の位相を精密に制御することができる。
放射音波の指向性を鋭くし、強度を高めるためには 3×3 より多い振動体を配列することが望ましい。
本願発明者は、前記複数の圧電素子30及び前記可撓性樹脂膜20が形成する複数の振動体の発生音波の位相を精密に制御する為には、前記複数の振動体のたわみ振動の最低次の共振モードの周波数を前記複数の圧電素子30の駆動周波数より大とするだけでは不十分であり、前記支持板10(100)、前記可撓性樹脂膜20及び前記複数の圧電素子30を含む前記圧電体アッセンブリのたわみ振動の最低次の共振モードの周波数を考慮する必要があるのではないかという新規な着想を得て、下記解析を行った。
図6(a)に、本解析に用いたモデル200(圧電体アッセンブリ)の平面図を示す。
また、図6(b)に、図6(a)におけるVI-VI線に沿った断面図を示す。
即ち、前記モデル200は、第1板体110及び第2板体120を含む支持板100と、前記支持板100の第1面101に固着された可撓性樹脂膜20と、前記可撓性樹脂膜20の第1面21に固着された3×3=9個の圧電素子30とを有している。

本解析(3)は、前記凹部15が形成された部分(第1板体110)の板厚L1と前記振動体による放射音波の音圧レベルとの関係を有限要素法解析によって求めるものである。
また、前記導波路17が形成された部分(前記第2板体120)の材質をSiCとした。
なお、前記凹部15が形成された部分(第1板体110)の材質は前記導波路17が形成された部分(第2板体120)の材質(SiC)と同じとした。

即ち、前記凹部15内には前記可撓性樹脂膜20を前記支持板100の第1面101に固着させる際の接着剤等が流入する事態が生じ得る。このような事態が生じた場合、前記凹部15の深さが小さすぎると、前記圧電素子30及び前記可撓性樹脂膜20によって形成される振動体の動作が阻害される危険性がある。
この点を考慮すると、前記凹部15の深さは0.05mm以上であることが好ましい。

本実施の形態に係る前記超音波トランスデューサー1A(1B)は、主要構成部材である前記圧電体アッセンブリの他に、任意構成部材として下側封止板40及び配線アッセンブリ150を有している。
図12に示すように、前記下側封止板40は、前記複数の圧電素子30をそれぞれ囲む大きさの複数の圧電素子用開42口を有しており、前記下側封止板40は、平面視において前記複数の圧電素子30が前記複数の圧電素子用開口42内に位置するように前記可撓性樹脂膜20の第1面21に接着剤又は熱圧着等によって固着されている。
前記導体層170は、前記ベース層160上に積層された厚さ12~25μm程度のCu箔に対して不要部分をエッチング除去することによって形成可能である。
好ましくは、前記導体層170を形成するCuの露出部分にNi/Auメッキを施すことができる。
前記上側封止板60は、前記複数の圧電素子30のそれぞれに対応した位置に開口部65を有している。
・前記支持板10の板厚と同一の金型深さを有し且つ前記複数の凹部15及び前記複数の導波路17を形成する為の構造が設けられた支持板用金型にセラミックス材料を注入し、焼成を行うことによって前記複数の凹部15及び前記複数の導波路17を備えた前記支持板10を形成する支持板形成工程(図13)
を備えている。
・前記複数の凹部15を覆うように前記可撓性樹脂膜20を接着剤又は熱圧着によって前記支持板10の第1面11に固着する可撓性樹脂膜固着工程(図16)と、

前記複数の凹部を覆うように前記支持板の第1面に固着された可撓性樹脂膜と、
平面視において中央領域が対応する凹部と重合し且つ周縁領域が前記支持板の第1面と重合するように前記可撓性樹脂膜の第1面に固着された前記複数の凹部と同数の圧電素子とを備え、

前記凹部側プレート及び前記導波路側プレートを接着剤によって固着する板体固着工程とを有していることを特徴とする請求項16に記載の超音波トランスデューサーの製造方法。 - 前記導波路側プレートを形成する処理は、前記複数の導波路の長さと同一の金型深さを有し且つ前記複数の導波路のそれぞれと同一開口幅の複数の貫通孔を形成する為の構造が設けられた導波路側プレート用金型にセラミックス材料を注入し、焼成するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の超音波トランスデューサーの製造方法。
- 前記凹部側プレートを形成する処理は、前記複数の凹部の深さと同一の金型深さを有し且つ前記複数の凹部のそれぞれと同一開口幅の貫通孔を形成する為の構造が設けられた凹部側プレート用金型にセラミックス材料を注入し、焼成するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項17又は18に記載の超音波トランスデューサーの製造方法。
- 前記凹部側プレートを形成する処理は、前記凹部の深さと同一の板厚を有する金属板を用意し、前記金属板に対してエッチング加工によって前記複数の凹部のそれぞれと同一開口幅の複数の貫通孔を形成するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項17又は18に記載の超音波トランスデューサーの製造方法。
