Abstract
Description
で表されるベンゾニトリル化合物0.1~0.9モルを反応させる上記一般式(1)の多価ヒドロキシ樹脂の製造方法である。
本発明のエポキシ樹脂又は多価ヒドロキシ樹脂から得られるエポキシ樹脂組成物を硬化して得られる硬化物は、耐熱性、低熱膨張性および耐湿性に優れた性能を有し、積層、成形、注型、接着等の用途に好適に使用することができる。
本発明の多価ヒドロキシ樹脂は、一般式(1)で表される。
で表されるビスフェニレン基を挙げることができる。式(4)において、Yは直接結合、酸素原子、硫黄原子、-SO2-、-CO-、-COO-、-CONH-、-CH2-、-C(CH3)2-、-φ-、9,9-フルオレニル基を示す。ここでφはフェニレン基を示す。また、R1、R2は、それぞれ独立して、水素原子、炭素数1~8のアルキル基、アリール基、アルコキシ基、アラルキル基又はハロゲン原子を示す。
Aは、好ましくは無置換もしくはメチル基で置換されたベンゼン環、ナフタレン環、またはビフェニル環である。
nは平均の繰り返し数を示し、1~10であるが、好ましくは1~5である。
ここで芳香族ジヒドロキシ化合物とは、炭素数1~6のアルキル基置換又は未置換の2価のジヒドロキシベンゼン類、ジヒドロキシナフタレン類または、下記式(5)、
具体的にはハイドロキノン、2,5-ジメチルハイドロキノン、2,3,5-トリメチルハイドロキノン、レゾルシノール、カテコール、1,5-ナフタレンジオール、1,6-ナフタレンジオール、1,7-ナフタレンジオール、2,6-ナフタレンジオール、2,7-ナフタレンジオール、ビスフェノールA、ビスフェノールF、3,3’,5,5’-テトラメチル-4,4’-ジヒドロキシジフェニルメタン、3,3’,5,5’-テトラメチル-4,4’-ジヒドロキシビフェニル、4,4’-ジヒドロキシジフェニルエーテル、4,4’-ジヒドロキシベンゾフェノン、4,4’-ジヒドロキシジフェニルスルホン、4,4’-ジヒドロキシジフェニルスルフィド、フルオレンビスフェノール等が挙げられる。
ジヒドロキシ基の置換位置については、ジヒドロキシベンゼン類としては、1,4-ジヒドロキシ体又は1,3-ジヒドロキシ体が好ましく、ジヒドロキシナフタレン類としては、1,5-ジヒドロキシ体、1,6-ジヒドロキシ体、2,6-ジヒドロキシ体又は2,7-ジヒドロキシ体が好ましく、ビスフェノール化合物としては、4,4’-ジヒドロキシ体が好ましい。使用する芳香族ジヒドロキシ化合物において、これらのジヒドロキシ置換体が50モル%以上であることが好ましい。
Xはハロゲン原子であり、フッ素原子、塩素原子、臭素原子、ヨウ素原子が例示されるが、フッ素原子、または塩素原子が好ましい。また、ハロゲン原子の置換位置としては2,6-位が好ましい。具体的には、2,6-ジフルオロベンゾニトリル、2,6-ジクロロベンゾニトリル、2,6-ジブロモベンゾニトリルを挙げることができる。2,6-位以外のハロゲン置換体を混合使用する場合であっても、ベンゾニトリル化合物において、2,6-位ハロゲン置換体が50モル%以上であることが好ましい。
式(3)において、A、nは、原料としての多価ヒドロキシ樹脂を表す式(1)と同義である。mは、1~15の数を示し、好ましくは平均値として1.1~6である。
この場合、本発明のエポキシ樹脂の配合量は、エポキシ樹脂全体中、好ましくは5~100wt%の範囲、より好ましくは50~100wt%の範囲である。
この場合、本発明の多価ヒドロキシ樹脂の配合量は、エポキシ樹脂全体中、好ましくは5~100wt%の範囲、より好ましくは50~100wt%の範囲である。
実施例1(多価ヒドロキシ樹脂Aの製造)
2Lの4口セパラブルフラスコにハイドロキノン128.1gをN-メチルピロリドン(NMP)700gに溶解した後、炭酸カリウム139.3gを加え、窒素気流下、攪拌しながら120℃に昇温した。その後、2,6-ジクロロベンゾニトリル50.0gを加え、150℃に昇温し6時間反応させた。反応液に酢酸121.1gを加えて中和した後、減圧下、NMPを留去した。反応液にメチルイソブチルケトン(MIBK)500mLを加えて生成物を溶解した後、水洗により生成塩および未反応のハイドロキノンを除去した。その後、MIBKを減圧蒸留により除いて、黄色粉末状の多価ヒドロキシ樹脂71gを得た(多価ヒドロキシ樹脂A)。得られたヒドロキシ樹脂Aの水酸基当量は162g/eq.、融点は255℃であった。GPCチャートを図1に示す。
ここで溶融粘度は、BROOKFIELD社製CAP2000Hを用い、GPC測定は、装置:HLC-8320(東ソー(株)製)及びカラム:TSKgel SuperHZ2500×2本及びTSKgel SuperHZ2000×2本(何れも東ソー(株)製)を用い、溶媒:テトラヒドロフラン、流速:0.35ml/分、温度:40℃、検出器:RIの条件で行った。
2Lの4口セパラブルフラスコにハイドロキノン80.0gをN-メチルピロリドン(NMP)700gに溶解した後、炭酸カリウム119.4gを加え、窒素気流下、攪拌しながら120℃に昇温した。その後、2,6-ジクロロベンゾニトリル50.0gを加え、150℃に昇温し6時間反応させた。反応液に酢酸103.8gを加えて中和した後、減圧下、NMPを留去した。反応液にメチルイソブチルケトン(MIBK)500mLを加えて生成物を溶解した後、水洗により生成塩を除去した。その後、MIBKを減圧蒸留により除いて、黄色粉末状のヒドロキシ樹脂74gを得た(多価ヒドロキシ樹脂B)。得られた多価ヒドロキシ樹脂Bの水酸基当量は220g/eq.、融点は216℃であった。GPCチャートを図2、赤外吸収スペクトルを図3に示す。
2Lの4口セパラブルフラスコにレゾルシノール128gをNMP700gに溶解した後、炭酸カリウム139.3gを加え、窒素気流下、攪拌しながら120℃に昇温した。その後、2,6-ジクロロベンゾニトリル50gを加え、150℃に昇温し6時間反応させた。反応液に酢酸121.1gを加えて中和した後、減圧下、NMPを留去した。反応液にMIBK500mLを加えて生成物を溶解した後、水洗により生成塩および未反応のレゾルシノールを除去した。その後、MIBKを減圧蒸留により除いて、黄色粉末状の多価ヒドロキシ樹脂80gを得た(多価ヒドロキシ樹脂C)。得られたヒドロキシ樹脂Cの水酸基当量は164g/eq.、融点は146℃であった。
2Lの4口セパラブルフラスコに2,7-ジヒドロキシナフタレン99.5gをNMP700gに溶解した後、炭酸カリウム85gを加え、窒素気流下、攪拌しながら120℃に昇温した。その後、2,6-ジクロロベンゾニトリル35.6gを加え、150℃に昇温し6時間反応させた。反応液に酢酸73.9gを加えて中和した後、減圧下、NMPを留去した。反応液にMIBK500mLを加えて生成物を溶解した後、水洗により生成塩を除去した。その後、MIBKを減圧蒸留により除いて、多価ヒドロキシ樹脂123gを得た(多価ヒドロキシ樹脂D)。得られたヒドロキシ樹脂Dの水酸基当量は204g/eq.、融点は133℃であった。GPCチャートを図4に示す。
1Lの4口セパラブルフラスコに1,5-ジヒドロキシナフタレン73.5gをNMP250gに溶解した後、炭酸カリウム21.6gを加え、窒素気流下、攪拌しながら120℃に昇温した。その後、2,6-ジクロロベンゾニトリル26.1gを加え、150℃に昇温し5時間反応させた。反応液に酢酸21.6gを加えて中和した後、減圧下、NMPを留去した。反応液にMIBK500mLを加えて生成物を溶解した後、水洗により生成塩を除去した。その後、MIBKを減圧蒸留により除いて、多価ヒドロキシ樹脂71gを得た(多価ヒドロキシ樹脂E)。得られたヒドロキシ樹脂Eの水酸基当量は180g/eq.、融点は192℃であった。GPCチャートを図5に示す。
1Lの4口セパラブルフラスコに4,4’-ジヒドロキシビフェニル112.9gをNMP500gに溶解した後、炭酸カリウム49.8gを加え、窒素気流下、攪拌しながら120℃に昇温した。その後、2,6-ジクロロベンゾニトリル52.1gを加え、145℃に昇温し6時間反応させた。反応液に酢酸43.2gを加えて中和した後、減圧下、NMPを留去した。反応液にMIBK500mLを加えて生成物を溶解した後、水洗により生成塩を除去した。その後、MIBKを減圧蒸留により除いて、多価ヒドロキシ樹脂128gを得た(多価ヒドロキシ樹脂F)。得られたヒドロキシ樹脂Fの水酸基当量は270g/eq.、融点は337℃であった。GPCチャートを図6に示す。
1Lの4口セパラブルフラスコに4,4’-ジヒドロキシジフェニルエーテル38.2gをNMP500gに溶解した後、炭酸カリウム23.9gを加え、窒素気流下、攪拌しながら120℃に昇温した。その後、2,6-ジクロロベンゾニトリル25.0gを加え、145℃に昇温し6時間反応させた。反応液に酢酸20.8gを加えて中和した後、減圧下、NMPを留去した。反応液にMIBK500mLを加えて生成物を溶解した後、水洗により生成塩を除去した。その後、MIBKを減圧蒸留により除いて、多価ヒドロキシ樹脂50gを得た(多価ヒドロキシ樹脂G)。得られたヒドロキシ樹脂Gの水酸基当量は630g/eq.、融点は225℃であった。GPCチャートを図7に示す。
実施例1で得た多価ヒドロキシ樹脂A15gをエピクロルヒドリン130g及びジグライム33gに溶解し、減圧下(約100mmHg)、60℃にて48%水酸化ナトリウム水溶液7.8gを4時間かけて滴下した。この間、生成する水はエピクロルヒドリンとの共沸により系外に除き、留出したエピクロルヒドリンは系内に戻した。滴下終了後、更に1時間反応を継続した。その後、エピクロルヒドリン及びジグライムを減圧留去し、メチルイソブチルケトン120mLに溶解した後、濾過により生成した塩を除いた。その後、48%水酸化ナトリウム水溶液0.4gを加え、80℃で2時間反応させた。反応後、濾過、水洗を行った後、溶媒であるメチルイソブチルケトンを減圧留去し、黄色粉末状のエポキシ樹脂16gを得た(エポキシ樹脂A)。得られたエポキシ樹脂Aの融点は147.3℃、エポキシ当量は230g/eq.であった。なお、ここで加水分解性塩素は、樹脂試料0.5gを1,4-ジオキサン30mlに溶解させたものを1N-KOH/メタノール溶液5mlで30分間煮沸還流したものを、硝酸銀溶液で電位差滴定を行うことにより求めた。
実施例2で得た多価ヒドロキシ樹脂B22gをエピクロルヒドリン142g及びジグライム36gに溶解し、48%水酸化ナトリウム水溶液8.1gを用いて実施例8と同様に反応を行い、常温で粘稠なエポキシ樹脂26gを得た(エポキシ樹脂B)。得られたエポキシ樹脂Bのエポキシ当量は290g/eq.であり、150℃での溶融粘度は0.54Pa・sであった。GPCチャートを図8、赤外吸収スペクトルを図9に示す。
実施例3で得た多価ヒドロキシ樹脂C30gをエピクロルヒドリン260g及びジグライム65gに溶解し、48%水酸化ナトリウム水溶液15.6gを用いて実施例8と同様に反応を行い、常温で粘稠なエポキシ樹脂36gを得た(エポキシ樹脂C)。得られたエポキシ樹脂Cのエポキシ当量は242g/eq.であり、150℃での溶融粘度は0.22Pa・sであった。
実施例4で得た多価ヒドロキシ樹脂D50gをエピクロルヒドリン340g及びジグライム85gに溶解し、48%水酸化ナトリウム水溶液19.6gを用いて実施例8と同様に反応を行い、常温で固形のエポキシ樹脂56gを得た(エポキシ樹脂D)。得られたエポキシ樹脂Dのエポキシ当量は227g/eq.であり、150℃での溶融粘度は0.61Pa・sであった。
実施例5で得た多価ヒドロキシ樹脂E45gをエピクロルヒドリン400g及びジグライム60gに溶解し、48%水酸化ナトリウム水溶液24.2gを用いて実施例8と同様に反応を行い、常温で固形のエポキシ樹脂38gを得た(エポキシ樹脂E)。得られたエポキシ樹脂Eのエポキシ当量は224g/eq.であり、150℃での溶融粘度は0.19Pa・sであった。
実施例6で得た多価ヒドロキシ樹脂F50gをエピクロルヒドリン260g及びジグライム65gに溶解し、48%水酸化ナトリウム水溶液15.2gを用いて実施例8と同様に反応を行い、常温で固形のエポキシ樹脂35gを得た(エポキシ樹脂F)。得られたエポキシ樹脂Fのエポキシ当量は317g/eq.であり、融点は179.5℃であった。
実施例1~13で合成した多価ヒドロキシ樹脂又はエポキシ樹脂、o-クレゾールノボラック型エポキシ樹脂(エポキシ当量 197、軟化点54℃、150℃での溶融粘度90mPa・s;EOCN-1020、日本化薬製;エポキシ樹脂H)、フェノールノボラック(OH当量104、軟化点83℃、150℃での溶融粘度0.3Pa・s;BRG-557、アイカ工業製;ヒドロキシ樹脂H)を用い、硬化促進剤としてトリフェニルホスフィンを用い、表1に示す配合で樹脂組成物とした。
これを用いて成形(150℃、5分)した後、ポストキュア(175℃、4時間)を行って試験片を得て、種々の物性試験に供した。試験方法は、以下のとおり。ガラス転移点及び熱膨張係数は、(株)日立ハイテクサイエンス製TMA7100型熱機械測定装置を用いて、昇温速度10℃/分の条件で求めた。熱分解温度及び残炭率は、(株)日立ハイテクサイエンス製TG/DTA7300型熱重量測定装置により、窒素気流下、昇温速度10℃/分の条件にて5wt%重量減少時の熱分解温度及び700℃での残炭率を求めた。吸水率は、直径50mm、厚さ3mmの試験片を用い、ポストキュア後85℃85%RHの条件で100時間吸湿させた時の重量変化率とした。
結果を表1に示す。
Claims (7)
- 一般式(1)におけるAが独立に、ベンゼン環、ナフタレン環または、ビフェニル環である請求項1に記載の多価ヒドロキシ樹脂。
- 請求項1に記載の多価ヒドロキシ樹脂とエピクロルヒドリンを反応させることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のエポキシ樹脂の製造方法。
- エポキシ樹脂及び硬化剤よりなるエポキシ樹脂組成物において、請求項1に記載の多価ヒドロキシ樹脂又は請求項4に記載のエポキシ樹脂の少なくともいずれか一方を必須成分として配合してなるエポキシ樹脂組成物。
- 請求項6に記載のエポキシ樹脂組成物を硬化してなる硬化物。
