Definitions
- the present invention deals with a floating device for water activities, guided, for individual use, driven by means of manual propulsion, with application in the area of aquatic leisure, fun and entertainment, however, with feasibility of use in displacement over water for various purposes or needs, as we will see, it is useful for sporting, competitive and rescue activities.
- buoys which do not offer the swimmer mobility or a sense of direction
- the boards such as those for bodyboarding and surfing, which allow buoyancy, however, as they are devoid of motor force, are little use in rivers and lakes and, even on the beach, depend exclusively on the force of the waves to obtain some displacement, which almost always happens in a single direction, in favor of the flow of the waves and requires expertise, knowledge and training from the user who venture out to perform maneuvers and change direction beyond the shallow beach.
- this patent was developed, aimed at providing the bather, both the buoyancy sought in buoys, and boards, as well as the guideability and capacity of fast and unlimited locomotion found in boats, kayaks and the like, but with the advantage of not using an engine, battery or paddle, being easy to handle and allowing the user leisure, fun and entertainment without leaving the water or interrupting their bath.
- REPLACEMENT SHEETS (RULE 26)
- the present invention also has the advantages of being light enough to be carried by hand, having its components assembled in a single set without accessory equipment; be easily transported in car trunks; and be easy to manipulate and handle during use, which does not require prior technical knowledge from the average user.
- Figure 1 shows the bottom view of the invention (the object being seen from below), with a longitudinal section, which is the same view allowed when removing the coating and bottom protection, leaving the mechanical system of the invention exposed.
- Figures 2 and 7 show a side view of the invention, with longitudinal section.
- Figure 3 shows the same viewing angle as figure 2, however, with the structural base of support of the mechanical assembly (01) separated from the upper covering deck (11) and the lower covering tray (12).
- Figure 4 shows a three-dimensional view of the complete set in its three parts.
- Figures 5 and 6 show rear and front views, respectively.
- FIGS 8 and 9 illustrate only the alternative and optional use of the main gear (07), which in this case (figures 8 and 9), at the choice of the manufacturer, can be used in the horizontal position, for the reasons presented in paragraphs [019 ] and [020].
- a solid structural base with an elongated platform (1), resistant enough to receive, fitted, cast or screwed to it, all the mechanical components (bearings, bearing, shafts and gears) ), as well as supporting the work required by them; such components being: Four bearings (2); Four bearings (tapered or not) or bushings for fitting (3); A drive shaft (04); Two traction arms (cranks) (05); Two rubberized grip handles (06); A main gear (can be tapered, cylindrical teeth, or the way that is best for each model) (07); A secondary gear (08), similar to the first (07), however, with a smaller diameter than the diameter of the main gear (07) to have greater rotation; A torque shaft (09); One propeller (10); A deck for top cladding (11); A lower lining fairing (tray) (12); An optional rudder (13) fixed to the base by means of a flexible rod (optional); A bilateral (optional) lever (14) coupled to the rudder
- REPLACEMENT SHEETS (RULE 26)
- this function is optional and is not essential for the proper functioning of the invention, since the user can perform maneuvers only with the use of legs. And more: sealing retainers (15); Screws (16), Nuts, locks, cotter pins and keys as needed.
- the bather On the upper cover, here called the upper covering deck (11), the bather will lie in a position similar to swimming, like bodyboard boards, however, holding onto the two handles of the swivel arms. However, the device provides support so that the bather, at his pleasure and as it suits him, remains seated, or even standing on him.
- the upper covering deck 11
- the drive shaft (04) turns the main gear (07), which, in turn, it transmits rotation to the secondary gear (08), connected to the shaft (09), which causes the propeller (10) to rotate, causing the assemblies to move over the water.
- the present invention can also be used in aquatic competitions, with the advantage of being a device driven by arm strength, which stimulates the competitive and sporting spirit.
- the invention instead of being used only for the enjoyment of ordinary bathers (young children and adults of any age) around the beach, the invention can cover kilometer distances under the strength of the competitor's arms.
- the two cranks (05), the two handles (06), as well as gears (07) and (08), can be cast or molded in their respective axes, or be fixed to them by means of fittings of any shape , or by braces, cotter pins, locks, threads or any other means of fixation.
- the bearings (02), can be cast or molded on the structural base (01), forming a single piece, or be fixed to it by means of screws, fittings or locks, for example.
- a strap can be part of the set, to be attached to the user's ankle, wrist or waist, and thus prevent the force of waves or currents from separating the bather from his device.
- the upper coating deck (11) and the lower coating tray (12) are made of alloys of anticorrosive steels, aluminum, light and anticorrosive metals or synthetic materials of good mechanical resistance, such as plastics and nylons, Polymers in general, Polypropylene, Polypropene, Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), grivory, wood or fiberglass, with resin and catalyst, and the internal cavity is filled with an inflatable chamber, canvas
- REPLACEMENT SHEETS (RULE 26) waterproof, or even by light and floating material, such as styrofoam, air bubbles or foam, or a combination of these, in order to ensure buoyancy to the device and safety to the user.
- the total measure of the invention (and, therefore, the individual measures of its parts), is measured to have its length, preferably less than the height of the user, considering the variations in the appropriate proportions for the three age groups of consumers (small, medium and large size). Its contact area is sufficient to support the torso, upper limbs and waist of the user, allowing his lower limbs to be free for movements and flexions, being able to even perform the swim, and also assist in the maneuvers of the device and changes of direction .
- the width measures approximately or slightly larger than the average size of the user's body of the intended age group.
- the thickness of the set that is: the maximum height of the invention (figures 2 and 7)
- this will be equivalent to the thickness (height) of the top cladding deck (11), plus the thickness (height) of the structural base of support (01), and the thickness (height) of the bottom lining tray (12), considering that this height of the set must have necessary and sufficient space to accommodate, inside, the larger gear (07), responsible for occupying the largest vertical space, since it requires the largest possible diameter in order to cause the maximum possible turns and rotations of the propeller at each stroke of the user (at each cycle of the main axis of traction (04).
- the said gear (07) can be used, optionally, lying (horizontal), as shown of figures 8 and 9.
- REPLACEMENT SHEETS (RULE 26) its use within the perimeter of beaches or among general swimmers, such as children and the elderly, since it is a small device, it is neither electric nor motorized, and it does not present risks to third parties.
- the two cranks (05), and the two handles (06) can have rotating inserts on their axes, in order to be retracted, hiding between the structural base and the fairings of the invention, as desired of the bather, when he only wants to stand on the invention, lying or standing, without performing maneuvers, or for any other convenient or necessary reason.
