Definitions
- the present invention relates to sliding parts that rotate relative to each other, for example, sliding parts used in a shaft sealing device for shaft-sealing the rotating shaft of a rotating machine in an automobile, a general industrial machine, or other sealing fields, or an automobile or a general industrial machine. Or other sliding parts used for bearings of machines in the bearing field.
- a mechanical seal is provided with a pair of annular sliding parts that rotate relative to each other and slide between sliding surfaces.
- the sliding surface of the sliding component communicates with the high-pressure sealed liquid side and slides.
- the mechanical seal shown in Patent Document 1 has an introduction groove portion extending in the radial direction and communicating with the liquid to be sealed on the sliding surface of one of the sliding parts, and an introduction groove portion communicating with the introduction groove portion and extending in the relative rotation direction.
- a plurality of dynamic pressure generating mechanisms composed of the dynamic pressure generating groove portions to be provided are arranged side by side along the circumferential direction. According to this, when the sliding parts rotate relative to each other, the liquid to be sealed is introduced into the dynamic pressure generating groove through the introduction groove, and the liquid to be sealed concentrates on the wall at the end of the dynamic pressure generating groove in the relative rotation direction. As a result, positive pressure is generated and the sliding surfaces are separated from each other, and a liquid film of the liquid to be sealed is formed on the sliding surfaces to improve lubricity and reduce friction.
- Patent Document 1 by supplying the fluid to be sealed from the end point of the dynamic pressure generating groove between the sliding parts, it is possible to reduce the friction between the sliding parts, while being sealed. If the fluid contains contamination, this contamination stays in the introduction groove, further enters the dynamic pressure generation groove through the introduction groove, and stagnates and accumulates in the vicinity of the particularly closed end point of the dynamic pressure generation groove. May cause wear or wear. Therefore, the contamination existing between the sliding surfaces may damage the sliding surfaces and adversely affect the performance of the rotating machine.
- "contamination” is an abbreviation for contamination, and means “particulate foreign matter” such as polyfine particulate conductive foreign matter.
- the present invention has been made by paying attention to such a problem, and by suppressing the retention of contamination mixed in the introduction groove portion and preventing the contamination from entering the dynamic pressure generation groove portion, the sliding surface It is an object of the present invention to provide a sliding component capable of maintaining good lubrication performance and sealing function.
- the sliding parts of the present invention are An annular sliding component arranged at a relative rotating portion of the rotating machine, and the sliding surface of the sliding component has an introduction groove portion communicating with the fluid to be sealed through an opening and communicating with the introduction groove portion.
- a plurality of dynamic pressure generating mechanisms composed of a dynamic pressure generating groove portion extending in the circumferential direction in which the sliding parts rotate relative to each other are arranged side by side in the circumferential direction.
- the boundary wall located on the boundary side of the introduction groove portion with the dynamic pressure generating groove portion is extended to the sealed fluid side with at least the opening side of the boundary wall inclined toward the dynamic pressure generating groove portion side with respect to the radial direction. It has a sloped surface.
- the contamination mixed in the introduction groove portion due to the sealed fluid is easily discharged to the sealed fluid side along the inclined surface of the boundary wall, so that the contamination causes the introduction groove portion. It is possible to prevent the possibility of entering the dynamic pressure generation groove portion via the passage, and to maintain good lubrication performance and sealing function of the sliding surface.
- the inclined surface may be formed of a flat surface from the dynamic pressure generating groove side toward the sealed fluid side. According to this, since the inclined surface is flat, the contamination mixed in the introduction groove portion is easily discharged to the outside through the inclined surface.
- the boundary wall may have a radial surface extending in the radial direction on the dynamic pressure generating groove side of the inclined surface. According to this, since the fluid to be sealed advances to the dynamic pressure generating groove portion through the radial surface extending in the radial direction, the function of the dynamic pressure generating groove portion is not impaired.
- the introduction groove may be formed so that the opening side communicating with the sealed fluid side is narrower than the dynamic pressure generating groove side. According to this, since the opening is formed to be narrow, it is difficult for contamination that flows with rotation to flow in.
- a plurality of the introduction groove portions arranged side by side along the circumferential direction may communicate with each other through an annular groove extending in an endless shape. According to this, the fluidity of the contamination mixed in the introduction groove portion is further enhanced, and it becomes easy to discharge any one of the plurality of introduction groove portions arranged side by side in the circumferential direction as the discharge groove portion.
- the introduction groove portion may communicate with the sealed fluid side and the outer diameter side. According to this, since the centrifugal force acts in the outer diameter direction, it is easy to remove the contaminated contamination.
- a discharge groove portion that communicates with the introduction groove portion and also communicates with the sealed fluid side may be extended. According to this, the fluidity of the contamination mixed in the introduction groove portion with the sealed fluid can be increased, and the contamination can be discharged to the sealed fluid side from the discharge groove portion as well.
- the discharge groove portion communicating with the introduction groove portion may be an introduction groove portion having a discharge function of a dynamic pressure generating mechanism arranged in parallel on the downstream side of the introduction groove portion. According to this, the structure can be made compact by using the discharge groove portion communicating with the introduction groove portion as the introduction groove portion on the downstream side thereof.

- the sliding component is a mechanical seal
- the outer diameter side of the sliding parts constituting the mechanical seal will be described as the sealed liquid side (high pressure side)
- the inner diameter side will be described as the atmosphere side (leakage side, low pressure side).
- the sealed liquid side may be the low pressure side and the leak side may be the high pressure side
- the sealed fluid is not limited to the liquid but may be a gas, for example, the atmosphere.
- dots may be added to the grooves and the like formed on the sliding surface in the drawings.
- the mechanical seal for general industrial machinery shown in FIG. 1 is an inside type that seals the sealed liquid F that tends to leak from the sealed liquid side of the sliding surfaces 11 and 21 toward the atmosphere side. It is not attached to the rotary sealing ring 20, which is an annular sliding component provided on the rotary shaft 1 so as to be rotatable together with the rotary shaft 1 via the sleeve 2, and the seal cover 5 fixed to the housing 4 of the attached device. - the sliding surface 21 of the rotary sealing ring 20 may be a flat surface or may be provided with a recessed portion.
- the static sealing ring 10 and the rotary sealing ring 20 are typically formed of SiC (hard material) or a combination of SiC (hard material) and carbon (soft material), but the sliding material is not limited to this. It can be applied as long as it is used as a sliding material for mechanical seals.
- the SiC includes a sintered body using boron, aluminum, carbon and the like as a sintering aid, and materials composed of two or more types of phases having different components and compositions, for example, SiC and SiC in which graphite particles are dispersed.

It is a land 12 to be formed.
- the left side of the paper surface of FIG. 4 is the downstream side of the sealed liquid F flowing in the Rayleigh step 9A described later, and the right side of the paper surface of FIG. Will be described as the upstream side of the sealed liquid F flowing in the Rayleigh step 9A.
- the dynamic pressure generation mechanism 14 is concentric with the introduction groove portion 15 having an opening 15a communicating with the sealed liquid F side and extending to the atmosphere side, and the static sealing ring 10 from the atmosphere side end portion of the introduction groove portion 15 toward the downstream side. It is provided with a Rayleigh step 9A as a dynamic pressure generating groove extending in the circumferential direction. Further, the end of the introduction groove 15 on the atmosphere side is closed, and the end face on the atmosphere side is continuous with the end face on the atmosphere side of Rayleigh Step 9A. That is, the dynamic pressure generating mechanism 14 has a substantially L-shape when the sliding surface 11 is viewed from the direction orthogonal to the sliding surface 11 by the introduction groove portion 15 and the Rayleigh step 9A.
- the introduction groove portion 15 of the first embodiment is extended in the outer diameter direction so as to be inclined toward the Rayleigh step 9A with reference to the radial direction of the static sealing ring 10.

That is, a step 18b in the depth direction is formed between the introduction groove portion 15 and the Rayleigh step 9A by the downstream side surface of the introduction groove portion 15 and the bottom surface of the Rayleigh step 9A. If the depth dimension of the introduction groove portion 15 is formed deeper than the depth dimension of the Rayleigh step 9A, the depth dimension of the introduction groove portion 15 and the Rayleigh step 9A can be freely changed, preferably the dimension L10 is the dimension L20. It is more than 5 times.
- the bottom surface of Rayleigh Step 9A has a flat surface and is formed parallel to the land 12, it does not prevent the flat surface from being provided with fine recesses or being formed so as to be inclined with respect to the land 12. Further, the two arcuate surfaces extending in the circumferential direction of the Rayleigh step 9A are orthogonal to the bottom surface of the Rayleigh step 9A, respectively. Further, although the bottom surface of the introduction groove portion 15 has a flat surface having a uniform depth and is formed parallel to the land 12, it is necessary to provide a fine recess on the flat surface or to form the bottom surface so as to be inclined with respect to the land 12. Abstract
