Abstract

The autonomous mechanical system for collecting domestic refuse and waste involves a method for collecting and transporting domestic refuse and waste over short or medium distances; it improves a standard collection system based on refuse collectors passing through virtually every neighbourhood in order to empty waste containers placed close to houses and at the corner of each street or avenue into trucks or the like, with the purpose of removing the contents thereof to the dump. It is a mechanism for carrying domestic refuse and waste from one point to another in an underground culvert and automatically and autonomously to a collection point centralizing one or more neighbourhoods at a time. This system is made up of: 1- Fixed hermetically sealed collection containers that replace the standard movable containers; they will be located so as to be within range of "civilian" users in residential areas and the like; they are designed to receive and swallow up the refuse and waste in the "collection vessel" lower part thereof. 2- A network of underground culverts in which conveyor belts are positioned that transport the waste to the waste disposal site. 3- A semi-underground or underground waste disposal site for intermediate collection between the neighbourhood(s) and the dump. The process of conveying refuse is activated automatically and autonomously once the container collection vessel has reached a given quantity or a certain volume or weight set as an activation setpoint, the operation of transporting the refuse via conveyor belt to the intermediate collection site begins. From one collection container to another, the refuse is transported to the intermediate collection destination, this making it possible to empty the collection vessels in order to receive further quantities of refuse and waste. In the intermediate collection site where the refuse from one or more neighbourhoods is collected, all of the refuse and waste packaged and compressed in hermetically sealed sacks by virtue of a machine is collected by truck or the like in order to be evacuated in an odour-free manner to its final destination: landfill, processing or incineration.

La cotiecte des ordures ménagères est effectuée dans toutes ies communes et agglomérations urbaines du monde au moins une fois par jour. C’est une opération qui exige des moyens colossaux en matêrie! et en budget, qui varient selon l’importance de ia densité de la population.  The household garbage is collected in all the communes and urban agglomerations of the world at least once a day. Les études révèlent qu’un individu produit quotidiennement entre 0.900 et 1.400 Kg de déchets en moyenne. Les points de collecte constituent de véritables foyers de nuisance aussi bien par l’odeur qu’ils dégagent que par leur apparence désagréable.  Studies show that an individual produces between 0.900 and 1.400 kg of waste on average daily. The collection points are real nuisances as much by the smell they give off as by their unpleasant appearance.

Les ordures ménagères sont incessamment générées en quantités croissantes avec le développement du mode de vie des sociétés. Afin d’assurer l’isolation contre les remontées des odeurs, ia trappe de visite de conteneur de récupération est munie d’un système d’isolation hermétique à hélice qui fonctionne de façon à ce que la paie suivante vienne fermer l’ouverture à chaque fois qu’une quantité de déchets est posé sur ia paie inferieure de l’hélice.
