Abstract

A handwriting-simulating system comprises a ballpoint pen (2), guiding means for moving the ballpoint pen (2) in three spatial dimensions, a unit for storing handwritten elements and their correspondence to specific typographic characters. A processor in the system selects typographic characters in a text file and controls the guiding means according to the stroke required to write each handwritten element associated with a selected typographic character. An interface with a touch screen (4) makes it possible to record a handwritten element stroke and store it in a storage unit together with its correspondence to a typographic character.
