Description

Title of the Invention: A PORTABLE SYSTEM AND DEVICE FOR MULTI-TASKING AND METHOD THEREOF
Field of the Invention:
The present invention relates to a portable electronic device, system and method for capturing thoughts, brain multi-tasking and organizing personal information. In particular, the present invention provides a device and method for recording notes based on plurality of inputs including but not limited to voice, text, image, video and capturing meeting conversations, preparing minutes of meetings, organizing data, files etc.
Background of the Invention
Millions of users worldwide utilize electronic devices, for example, a mobile device, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a personal computer, a laptop computer, a tablet, a Smartphone, a portable audio/video player, or the like. These devices are not only meant for communication or entertainment purpose but also perform various tasks on command of the user to ease life of the user. As the user are surrounded by variety of electronic devices, these devices brings a lot of intrusion and disturbances. These intrusions and disturbances are heavily affecting the ability of the user to concentrate on a specific task as a result these devices are also not considered as work devices in many environments.
However, in the present era of information age a person can hardly imagine his life without using these devices. In fact, use of the electronic devices becomes necessary in the environment where there is a flow of numerous data, information statistics and also use of technology and automation has made mundane tasks faster and portable, this led to more work pressure on human beings and now we as a human require some kind of multitask to ease out the work load. Because of information overload and the need to multitask, we often forget things and forgetfulness has become part and parcel of our lifestyle. We are not able to capture our thoughts quickly enough, by the time one opens his phone or computer application to note down, the thoughts are vanished. Sometimes a person doesn’t have motivation to do so and in other circumstances the person is not able to find a piece of paper or pen or his phone or computer application to jot it down. Even if the person jots it down on some piece of paper or on an electronic device and such piece of information is usually not named. Further there are high chances that the piece of paper may get lost or the information written on the electronic device takes a lot of time in search in absence of any organizational or sorting application.
As the thoughts fly by in one’s brain one needs to capture it in time else it is gone. Today we have lots of pieces of existing personal information like paper notes, thousands of photo graphs & video’s, hundreds of brochures, newspaper articles, vital documents like a product warranty document, important invitations, document of property. These are mostly not organized because it’s painful to organize and it takes time, which is often not available, as a result when a person need specific information, a lot of energy goes into hunting for existing information and many a time it’s not found at all. Soon this unorganized data piles up leading to digital clutter and at times to declutter, the person end up inadvertently deleting needful information.
Therefore, there is a need to capture random thoughts in the brain and organize personal information in a manner which is faster than a normal PC. In this connection, it is noted that in US patent No. US 7,812,860 B2, a device for capturing rendered text is described. The device incorporates one or more visual sensors that receive visual information as a part of capturing rendered text. The visual sensors are collectively capable of capturing both text that is permanently printed on a page, and text that is displayed transitorily on a dynamic device. However, the device of said patent does not solve all problems illustrated above. Further, in US patent publication no. US20150338917A1 , a method is provided which captures signals with help of electrode placed in proximity of brain and controls an electronic device with the help of that signal. Basically, the method controls the electronic device based on human thoughts as input.
Further US6453281 B1 : This document describes icon-based user-interface of the portable audio database device that includes a number of buttons that allow a user to manually interact with the device. In particular, four home keys are disposed below the interface display panel and, allow the user to quickly access pre-established or user-defined locations or categories in the hierarchical filing structure.
This prior art document talks about Voice Commands to search for telephone numbers and other audio files from the device. The present invention is designed to manage recorded voice notes (Telephone Voice Mail) and automatically link them to the phone contacts and use tools to manage them.
This patent has buttons to access different categories on the screen via an application which will make it faster than a smart phone, but it will be still slower than the MTD, since the MTD has buttons based on categories and utilities. This document does not disclose categories in specific which is important for a human in day to day routine.
In the above-mentioned references, it has not been disclosed or suggested any kind of Multi- Tasking Device, method or system which can capture random thoughts, and organize personal information in a manner which is faster than a normal PC.

The MTDS takes in handwritten inputs (22a) input via a stylus, an electronic pen or the like and takes an Image or Symbol input (24a), which can be a scanned paper with drawing or written text. The MTDS converts the drawing or written text of scanned paper into symbol or text. The MTDS can also take electronic image or symbol input like a barcode or image from symbol script. Further, it takes Brain input(26a) from the Brian with the help of brain input sensors or implants. The brain input thoughts are then converted by the MTDS into electromagnetic or electrical inputs. Further, the MTDS takes handwritten inputs (22a) via scanner, which scans the handwritten notes and said scanned images of handwritten notes or symbol are converted to text via an image to text converter in the MTD (105). Further, image or symbol inputs (24a) are also converted to text via an image to text converter. The Sound inputs (20a) are processed by voice to text converter in the MTD (105).
Similarly, brain inputs also work in conjunction with a brain input to text convertors. These input data is then displayed on the screen of data manipulation unit. In MTDS, set of calendar keys/buttons (28a) used to tag calendar dates against the inputsl 8a to 26a, with year, month, week, date time, and these buttons also help to view dates associated with input data. These keys/buttons (28a) assist in moving stored data to a different date and time as desired. The create key (34a) helps to create specific memory spaces for text applications, photo applications and the like. A second display (30a) is a separate mini display which works in conjunction with a Task Utility Switch (32a), which operates in toggle mode to display pre-created task spaces/folders like office, work 1 , work 2, personal, diary etc., in the MTDS. With the help of a create key/button (34a) and the second display (30a) more new task utility spaces can be created as desired. A third display (36a) is a separate mini display works in conjunction with an Event Utility Switch (38a), which operates in toggle mode to display Event utility spaces like vacation, expo, travel and with the help of a create switch button/key (34a) and with the help of the third display (36a) more new event utility spaces can be created as desired. A fourth display (40a) is a separate mini display works in conjunction with a functional Utility Switch (42a), which operates in toggle mode to display functional utility spaces like articles, photos, videos, restaurants etc., and with the help of a create key/button (34a) &the fourth display (40a) more new functional utility spaces can be created as desired. Task Utility Switch (32a), Event Utility Switch (38a), Functional Utility Switch (42a) can also be a series of permanent separate hardware switches like Office, Work, travel, Article and others. It has Quick Space Button (44a) on activation of this switch, all text inputs are inserted in a separate memory space. It has GPS tag button (46a), on its activation all photo inputs are tagged with the GPS co-ordinates.
In a data manipulation unit, plurality of inputs/data are manipulating through a series of buttons to quickly name and edit the said inputs as shown in Figure 4 b. The create key is used to create a new folder works in conjunction with name key to name the new folder to store the inputs. This data manipulation unit helps not only to create new text, images, photos, audio and video data and the like, but also instantly put them in pre-named folders or buckets. The data manipulation unit also has a display.
All input data are stored in a common memory space in MTDS. A mirror copy of stored data is created to act and manipulate upon input data (210). The data in MTDS has one original copy i.e. root data and said data can be accessed only through special controls and a mirror copy of the root data. The mirror data is used for data manipulation via a gate 215 by data manipulation unit in the MTDS, while the root data is kept separately and to be used only in emergency situations. It is decided if the data manipulation of the existing data is required especially for root Data. The manipulated data is then consolidated by a consolidation unit (230) based on the types of inputs against calendar dates & are time stamped. Thus, displayed are all text, images, photos, audio and video data and the like, together for a calendar day. The consolidated data can be segregated by a segregation unit(235), the segregated data especially the New input data of Text, Electronic inputs like handwritten electronic pen’s, or voice inputs etc. are each flagged if required via a flagging unit (240) as shown with the help of a series of flag buttons (245). Each new input data if required can be provided with ratings and alarms. The inputs can be also flagged with a stopwatch. The Flagged and un-flagged data are then sends to output (250) in Text, Image, Voice, Video form. These are sent to a Speaker (255) or Display or to an in-built printer in the MTD. The outputs are executed via series of Flardware buttons (260).
In MTD, the create button/key (510), as shown in Figure 5, when activated initiates creation of a unique memory space in the memory of MTDS. On initiation of the Create button (510) in conjunction with Text button (520), a new text file is created. This text file is created via a text application in the file system. Similarly, when create button (510) is pressed with a photo button (530), a new photo file is created that takes inputs in image mode from the camera. This photo file is created via a photo application in the file system. On pressing a GPS button along with create button and photo button, a“GPS" location tag is put on the created photo file. Similarly, when a Create button (510) is pressed with a Folder button (540), a new folder or new allocation in the memory space is created. The naming keys are illustrated in Figure 6, Name key (610), when activated, it creates a naming display space at least 8 mm in Height and at least 100 mm in length within the larger display. This display lasts for 60 seconds and then disappears. These dimensions can be varied as per the requirements and so can the time window of 60 seconds. The Name key works in conjunction with the create button for example, after pressing the create buttons (510) and text button (520) (as shown in Figure 5) with a Name button (610) as shown in Figure 6 results in the creation of a ‘Naming Text Display” and the input Text is permanently created if input is made within the time window of 60 seconds else it is a default file. Instead of a text input we can also have a voice input or an image input or a handwritten input. This‘Naming Text Display’ lasts for 60 seconds and then disappears, during this period if an input is provided the naming process happens, otherwise not.
