L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif destinés à rogner et à ébavurer frontalement des roues dentées (1) avec un outil de rognage (2) pourvu d'au moins un tranchant d'outil (3) réalisé sous forme de plaque de coupe pourvu d'au moins une arête de coupe (4), au moins un outil de rognage (2) conçu comme une fraise de rognage se déplaçant tangentiellement à travers la denture de la roue à usiner (1), l'outil de rognage (2) étant réglé sur des profondeurs de fraisage (11) finales dans l'axe de passe (Z) lors d'une première étape de procédé et l'outil de rognage (2) étant introduit ou déplacé sous l'effet d'une rotation continue de l'outil de rognage (2) et de la roue à usiner (1) dans une avance tangentielle (12) par rapport à la roue à usiner (1) dans la denture (13) à rogner lors d'une autre étape de procédé.
