Description

SPECIFICATION
VIBRATING NOSE BRACE (NASAL SPLINT)
Technological Area:
The invention relates to nose braces used in nasal surgery and which, after surgery, plays a reducing role in the formation of nasal swelling and edema of the patient and protects the nose against physical contacts.
This invention relates to a vibrating nose brace that minimizes swelling and edema of the nose by massaging the nose.
State of the Art:
The thermoplastic braces used today does not sit fully on the nose, and causes dead space formation in the dorsum and excessive swelling here, which can lead to excessive scar tissue formation and supratip deformities. In order to minimize this situation, the sponge that is provided with the thermoplastic braces is bonded to the dorsum, however the nose brace becomes loose and lifts as a result of the facial mimic movements and the physical structure of the nose and the swelling. The result of this enlargement is dead-spaces that cause swelling of the nose and the collection of the edema. The sponge placed to reduce the dead space does not have any function in this case.
Nowadays the braces are applied on the nose with the help of adhesive tapes. These tapes completely cut off the contact of the nose with air, and cover all skin pores. The face known as the nose inverted T region is the region most rich in sebaceous glands. As a result, the interruption of contact with the air and the closure of the pores and the lack of cleanliness can result in the formation of numerous pimples and even scars on the nose under the braces removed 7 days or even 10 days later. Particularly in sebaceous skin types, patients with severe acne reactions and early trauma in the early postoperative period are experiencing difficulties for the doctors. In addition, this condition delays wound healing and prolongs the sitting time of the nose. In some cases, these acne reactions can be seen until post-op 3rd month period. It is recommended that the patient never soak this area throughout the stay duration of brace for 7 to 10 days while having showers. This is a factor that disturbs the comfort of the patient.
The nose that is released after removing the nose brace tends to swell, and especially the nights are more swollen until the morning, and then in the morning it may demotivate and worry the person before going to work. On the other hand, for example, the edema of accumulates mostly on the right side of the nose of someone who was lying to his right side at night, and the resultant scene causes the patient to think that his nose is bowing and urgently to call the doctor.
In order to reduce the nasal swelling and edema of the patient whose nose splint is removed, the doctors advise patients to massage their nose. However, most patients do not apply the massage since this procedure will cause pain after a certain period of time. In this case, the time for the swelling to disappear and the healing of the swelling increases.
In the utility model document numbered with TR2015 / 16227, which is included in the records of Turkish Patent Institute, "Our invention is related with the production of nose external splints, which are used to mold the nose after the nasal operations and to enable the stability of operated bone fractures and to protect the nose partially against the external traumas, and which has structure made in silicone or aluminum, alias the nose brace to be made of galvanized sheet metal and zinc and to be produced in a softer and more elastic structure. The present invention relates to the production of braces, which are available in the market as thermoplastic, with a material obtained from the mixture of galvanized sheet metal and zinc. Again, in the patent document with the application number of TR2005 / 03345, which is included in the Turkish Patent Institute records, "Our product keeps cartilage and bones that are fractured in rhinoplasty or nasal trauma together, preventing the formation of the edema in the nose. It bears a protective function against the trauma that may arise from the outside to the nose surface. Our product is not allergic. Our braces, which are made of special alloy aluminum and cut with laser, after the cutting, after the elimination of the burrs that are formed or to be formed on the edges with sandpaper, are left in ethyl alcohol for 30 minutes, and then wiped off. After wiping is finished, the front surface is covered with foil which is guaranteed for 5 years on the outdoor. After the coating process is completed, the back surface is covered with double-sided tape. After the coating process is finished, it is again cleaned with ethyl alcohol in the hygienic environment and then packed" statements take place.
The mentioned invention relates to a method of producing a nasal brace obtained from aluminum.
In addition, in the utility model document with the application number of TR2003 / 01331, which is included in the records of the Turkish Patent Institute, "Intranasal splint, which is the subject of the invention, is inserted inwardly from the outside especially in order to prevent snoring disorders, and this brace is inserted in its place by slightly flexing the nostrils, if required, it is applied by sticking it on the nose in the upper lip or onto the nose in the bearded men, and it prevents the nose from closing with the vacuum that is generated in case of breathing."
The mentioned invention is an intranasal support splint which is inserted into the nose with the aim of preventing snoring. Disadvantages described in the known state of the art are caused by the presently used splints for all operations related to the nose. There is a need for constructing a new splint with the aim of overcoming the mentioned disadvantages. Description of the invention:
This invention is a vibrating nasal splint (nose brace) with a new attaching system that massages the purpose of being able to overcome the above-mentioned disadvantages of the splints used to reduce swelling and edema after the nasal operations.
The object of the invention is to reveal a nose brace structure that massages the nose after the nasal surgery in order to reduce swelling and edema in the nose.
Another object of the invention is to establish a new nose brace construct that will avoid the problems of injury and pustulation caused by brace on the skin.
Another object of the invention is to reveal a new nose brace construct that will prevent loosening of braces and dead spaces experienced as a result of the rising of the tape on the braces attached onto the skin via the tape.
Another object of the invention is to establish a new nose brace construct which allows the nasal swelling and edema to heal soon after nasal surgery.
Another object of the invention is to establish a new nose brace construct which does not interrupt the contact of the pores with the air.
Another object of the invention is to establish a new nose brace structure which does not require patients having nasal surgery to massage themselves. Another object of the invention is to establish a new nose brace construct that is with the pressing amount of which is greater than that of other splint models.
Another object of the invention is to establish a new nose brace construct which will reduce the post-operative under-eye bruises to a minimum.
Another object of the invention is to establish a new nose brace construct which will reduce the nasal pain through the vibration. Explanation of Figures:
