Abstract
The purpose of this invention is the bottom of the skate ski which consists of elongated platform (1) which is meant to be attached to the frame of the ski. Both on inner and outer sides of the platform (1) of the ski there's elongated blades (2, 3) attached to it, the blades pointing downward.
Description
The bottom of skate ski
The purpose of this invention is the bottom of skate ski; it consists of elongated platform which is intended to be attached to the frame of the ski.
For example in the Finnish utility model application U20160170 there's presented a skate ski which has an elongated blade attached to the inner side of the ski, pointing downwards from the ski.
In the description part of the U20160170 application there's every benefit explained compared to the technology known and used these days.
Tests performed on the skis have proven that when skiing downhill where there's curves and the speed is relatively high and increasing is the place where there's traction needed also to the outer side of the ski. When there's enough speed the skis tend to cross over each other which causes the skier to fall.
The purpose of this invention is to eliminate this problem.
Charasteristics according to this invention of a bottom of the skate skis is that both inner and outer sides of the frame of the ski have elongated blades pointing downwards attached to it. Tests performed with the prototype of this new skate ski have proven that the skis stay excellently well side by side when skiing downhill when there's curves with high speed.
The invention is explained referring to the following sketch in which
Sketch 1 describes the bottom of the skate ski.
Sketch 2 describes the bottom of the skate ski when viewed from the point of the ski. The bottom of the skate ski consists of elongated platform 1 which is meant to be attached to the body of the ski for example by using glue.
Both on inner and outer sides of the platform of the ski 1 there's elongated blades 2
3 attached to it, the blades pointing downward.
The height of the inner blade 2 is approximately l ,0-5,0mm, advantageously 2,0- 3,0mm and the height of the outer blade 3 is approximately 0,3-2,0mm, advanta- geously 0,5-1 ,0mm. The length L 1 of the inner blade 2 is between 40-80% of the whole length of the bottom of the ski and the length L2 of the outer blade 3 is between 20-40% of the whole length of the bottom of the ski.
Both the bottom and the blades are one solid piece and the material is either steel, aluminum, carbon fiber, fiberglass, sintrated polyether or a combination of carbon fiber and plastic.
Claims
1. The bottom of the skate ski which consists of elongated platform (1) which is meant to be attached to the frame of the ski, characteristics being that both the platform's (1) inner and outer sides have elongated blades attached to them, the blades pointing downward (2, 3).
2. The bottom referring to the first (1.) claim, characteristics being that the
height of the inner blade (2) is approximately 1,0-5, 0mm, advantageously 2,0-3,0mm and height of the outer blade (3) is approximately 0,3-2,0mm, advantageously 0,5- 1 ,0mm.
3. The bottom referring to the first (1.) and the second (2.) claim, characteristics being that the inner blade's (2) length (L I) is between 40-80% of the whole length of bottom of the ski and the outer blade's (3 ) length (L2) is between 20-40% of the whole length of the bottom of the ski.
4. The bottom referring to the first (1.), the second (2.) and the third (3.) claims, characteristics being that the platform and the blades consist of one solid piece and the material is either steel, aluminum, carbon fiber, fiberglass, sin- trated polyether or a combination of carbon fiber and plastic.
