Abstract
The invention relates to a multifunctional, collapsible chair in the form of a cane that comprises an upper handle for gripping and a central support connected to the handle by means of a joint. The central support, in turn, comprises a seat support connected to an upper end of the central support, rear legs connected to a lower end of the central support and retention elements to retain the seat support and the rear legs on the central support, all of which are connected to the central support in a collapsible way. Foldable supports on the central support act as a support for the seat support, while a flexible seat and backrest fold outwards and inwards from the central support, to which they are connected by means of tension rods.
Description
MULTIFUNCTIONAL COLLAPSIBLE CHAIR IN THE FORM OF A CANE
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The present invention lies within the technical field of collapsible, foldable or detachable chairs, and particularly relates to a multifunctional, collapsible chair in the form of a cane.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Multifunctional, collapsible chairs that are portable in the form of a cane provide a high degree of comfort for users who need to have a seat, since they occupy less space than a normal chair, both when in storage and when transported.
In the current state of the art, a wide variety of collapsible chairs in the form of a cane are known. For example, patent US6209951 describes a portable, foldable chair that uses a stretching mechanism to completely unfold the chair.
Said chair is different from the multifunctional, collapsible chair with regard to the unfolding mechanism and the number of parts or pieces thereof, since, as will be described below, it has a novel closing and unfolding mechanism that simplifies the materials used and results in a very comfortable chair.
Another type of solution are collapsible chairs such as the type described in patent US7942476, which incorporate a seat and a backrest made of fabric, which, unlike the multifunctional, collapsible chair, do not collapse in a retractable way, which results in improved aesthetics.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a cane which when unfolded transforms into a multifunctional and collapsible chair that can be used in any place since it can easily be mounted and transported, making it especially appealing to users with reduced mobility or who cannot remain in a vertical position on their feet for long periods of time, thereby allowing them to be have en element on which to rest.
To this end, the multifunctional, collapsible chair in the form of a cane is made up of a central frame or support, the design of which allows it to be used as a support for all of the pieces on the inside thereof, showing a multifunctional and aesthetic finish. The central support, in turn, has an upper handle for gripping the cane in a first collapsed configuration.
The central support is connected to the handle by means of a joint, and in turn comprises a plurality of collapsible and foldable elements, among which is a seat
support, located on the upper end of the central support, which is, in turn, covered on the end thereof by a protective material, and rear legs located on the lower end, covered on the lower parts thereof by an anti-slip material, from which, in turn, wedges and additional anti-slip elements unfold.
The support further comprises fastening elements to prevent an undesirable unfolding of the chair, collapsible rods on the central support for supporting the seat support, a flexible seat, foldable on the central support and preferably made of resistant fabric material, and a flexible backrest, foldable on the central support and also preferably made of fabric material.
Additionally, the central support incorporates an intermediate support rod to support the legs, first supports, located on an intermediate sector of the support to support the backrest, and couplers to join said first supports.
The main objective of the present invention is to be able to have a collapsible chair that provides comfort and, above all, a resistant and usable structure to thus be able to take advantage of every functioning aspect of the same, in addition to a functional and aesthetic finish.
The present invention can be used as a support for walking, since it is made of lightweight yet resistant materials, and furthermore will help people who, at any moment, might need a support or place to sit temporarily. The multifunctional, collapsible chair in the form of a cane can also be stored occupying very little space, since its collapsible configuration is in the form of a long and narrow cane.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
As a complement to the description provided herein and for the purpose of helping to make the characteristics of the invention more readily understandable, in accordance with a preferred practical embodiment thereof, said description is accompanied by a set of drawings constituting an integral part of the same, which by way of illustration and not limitation represent the following:
Figure 1 shows a side view of the multifunctional, collapsible chair in a collapsed configuration in the form of a cane.
Figure 2 shows a side view of a first unfolding stage of the chair shown in Figure 1 .
Figure 3 shows a perspective view of a first unfolding stage of the chair shown in Figure 2.
Figure 4 shows a side view of a second unfolding stage.
Figure 5 shows a perspective view of a second unfolding stage shown in Figure
4.
Figure 6 shows a perspective view of the multifunctional, collapsible chair in an unfolded configuration in the form of a chair. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
What follows is a detailed description, with the help of the figures referenced above, of an exemplary embodiment of the object of the present invention.
The multifunctional, collapsible chair in the form of a cane herein described is shown in Figure 1 in a collapsed configuration and in Figure 6 in an unfolded configuration.
In Figure 1 it is shown in the form of a cane, with a handle (1 ) connected to a joint (7) which connects it to a central support (2), on the upper part to which a seat support (3) is coupled, which is, in turn covered with a protective material (8).
On a lower part of the central support (2), rear, collapsible legs (4) are located, which on the lower ends thereof incorporate anti-slip elements (5). Retention elements (6) prevent the unfolding of the seat support (3) and of the rear legs (4).
Figures 2 and 3 show a side view of a first unfolding stage of the chair, with the seat support (3) extended on foldable supports (9) in the form of a rod, which connect the seat support (3) to the central support (2). From the lower end of said central support (2), the rear legs (4) are separated, provided with fastening wedges (10) and anti-slip surfaces.
Tension rods (1 1 ) connected to the central support (2) facilitate the unfolding and folding of a backrest (12) and a seat (13) for supporting a user and which, in this preferred embodiment, are made of resistant fabric material.
