- FIG. 5 is a schematic structural diagram of a terminal device according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 1 is a schematic flowchart of a method for processing an abnormality of a network communication function according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the method includes the following steps:
- the execution body of the method for processing network communication function abnormality provided by the embodiment of the present invention may be implemented by an application processor (English: Application Processor, AP for short) and a modem, that is, an application processor and a modem.
- the above-mentioned AP is an ultra-large-scale integrated circuit for extending audio and video functions and a dedicated interface based on a low-power CPU, and is an important component in a smart phone.
- the AP and the baseband processor (or baseband chip) may be two independent chips, and the baseband chip includes a plurality of modules such as a modem.
- the AP and the baseband processor may also be integrated into one chip, which may be determined according to actual application scenarios, and is not limited herein.
- the modem is used to convert the baseband signal into a radio frequency signal, convert the radio frequency signal into a baseband signal, process access layer (AS) and non-access stratum (NAS) signaling, and interface with the AP.
- AS process access layer
- NAS
- the modem supports multiple protocol stacks.
- the modem When the modem is abnormal, the network registration can be performed through multiple protocol stacks supported by it to restore the communication function.
- the modem detects that the network communication function is abnormal; such as crash / assert, the modem will crash crash/dump; the above/downstream channel demodulation CRC high probability failure; etc.; data processing cannot be performed normally, resulting in users not being able to access the Internet and making calls Wait.
- the modem needs to judge the cause of the abnormal network communication function, and then can evade/automatically recover according to the specific reasons.
- the indication message that the network communication function is abnormal may also be sent to the AP, and the AP performs a process of abnormal network communication function.
- the reason for the modem handling the network function abnormality may include a terminal terminating (Mobile Terminating, MT for short) call failure or a terminal call (Mobile Original, MO) call failure, channel decoding failure, dedicated bearer activation. Failure or failure of dedicated bearer modification, failure of public data network (PDN) connection establishment, failure of data transmission, failure of location update, and failure of network registration are not limited here.
- the reason for the establishment of a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection is divided into an MT initiated RRC setup and an MO initiated RRC setup.
- the MT/MO call fails because the call is blocked (the user equipment (UE) initiates the RRC connection establishment of the MO or the MT.
- the call blocking parameter of the System Information Block (SIB) performs access blocking detection. If the detected access is blocked, the RRC connection setup request message is not sent. The RRC connection reject message is received before the timer T300 times out.
- SIB System Information Block
- the base station After the base station receives the RRC connection setup request and performs access control or load control, the result is that the RRC connection is not allowed to be established, the base station sends an RRC connection reject message to the UE, and the RRC connection establishment sent by the base station is not received before the T300 timer expires.
- RRC connection reject message failure of the UE to send the RRC connection setup request message (including the failure of the random access procedure), failure of any signaling process in the call setup process (eg, the network does not respond to the paging response message paging response, authentication failure) Wait).
- the UE initiates an MT/MO call failure, it will cause the modem's network communication to be abnormal, and the modem can detect that the network communication is abnormal because the MT/MO call fails.
- a legitimate UE registration network is sometimes rejected by the network to cause no service, and the user must manually restart and retry the registration.
- the reasons for the failure of the UE to register the network include the failure of the network authentication process and the signing of problems between operators during international roaming.
- the attach reject message carries the reason why the network rejects the UE attachment, for example, an illegal UE. (Illegal ME), EPS services not allowed, PLMN not allowed, and Tracking area not allowed.
- OOS Out of Service
- the modem typically requires dedicated bearer processing, including dedicated bearer activation or dedicated bearer modification, during network registration or network usage of the UE.
- Dedicated bearer activation or dedicated bearer modification may be initiated by the UE or the network side.
- the network side may specifically initiate a dedicated bearer activation or a dedicated bearer modification by sending an ACTIVATE DEDICATED EPS BEARER CONTEXT REQUEST or a MODIFY EPS BEARER CONTEXT REQUEST to the mobile terminal.
- the UE's modem initiates a dedicated bearer activation or a dedicated bearer modification by specifically transmitting a Bearer RESOURCE ALLOCATION REQUEST or a Bearer RESOURCE MODIFICATION REQUEST.
- the dedicated bearer processing will generate an abnormality, for example, the dedicated bearer activation fails or the dedicated bearer modification fails.
- the dedicated bearer identifier to be activated conflicts with the existing default bearer identifier
- the dedicated bearer identifier to be activated conflicts with the existing dedicated bearer identifier
- the default bearer associated with the dedicated bearer to be activated is not established, and the dedicated bearer is sent.
- RRC layer refers to the ACTIVATE DEDICATED EPS BEARER CONTEXT ACCEPT or the MODIFY EPS BEARER CONTEXT ACCEPT The message failed to be sent.
- the modem can determine whether the dedicated bearer activation or the dedicated bearer modification fails by detecting whether the above situation exists in the process of the dedicated bearer activation or the dedicated bearer modification, to determine whether the modem's dedicated bearer processing is abnormal. If it is detected that the dedicated bearer activation fails or the dedicated bearer modification fails, it may be determined that the modem's network communication function is abnormal.
- a Public Data Network is a wide area network established by a telecom operator to provide services and technologies for accessing a wide area network to provide high quality data transmission services for users.
- PDN is a packet switching or circuit switching service provided by a local or long-distance telecommunications bureau.
- the packet switching services provided usually include X.25, frame relay, switched multi-megabit data service or asynchronous transfer mode, and circuit-switched services. Includes dial-up lines, switched 56 lines, and integrated services digital networks.
- the mobile terminal accesses the PDN through an Access Point Name (APN).
- APN Access Point Name
- Different APNs also correspond to different PDN networks, which are defined by the operator.
- APN refers to a network access technology, which is a parameter that must be configured when the UE accesses the Internet. It determines the access mode used by the UE to access the network. For UE users, there are many types of external networks that can be accessed, such as the Internet, WAP websites, intranets of the group, and private networks within the industry. The range accessible by different access points and the way they are accessed are different.
- the PDN uses a modem to interconnect the network control center and the user's network access device for data communication, thereby achieving the purpose of surfing the Internet. When the UE successfully establishes a connection with the PDN, the user can access the Internet through the mobile phone. Once the PDN connection fails to be established, the mobile phone cannot access the Internet normally.
- the modem detects whether the PDN connection is successfully established during the running process. When it detects that the PDN connection fails, it can be determined that the connection establishment between the modem and the PDN fails.
- the UE initiates a new PDN connection by sending a PDN connection request message, and the network side establishes a new default bearer for the new PDN connection.
- the reason for the failure of the PDN connection establishment is that the network side refuses to establish the PDN connection, the PDN connection setup request message sent by the UE times out, or the RRC layer indicates that the PDN connection establishment request fails to be sent.
- the reason for the network side rejecting the PDN connection establishment request is: the carrier is blocked, the APN is unknown, the PDN type is unknown, the authentication fails, the PDN type is not allowed to be IPv4, the PDN type is not allowed to be IPv6, the specified APN is not allowed to allow multiple PDNs, or the resources are restricted. . If the modem detects a PDN connection failure, it can determine that the modem's network communication function is abnormal.
- the UE initiates a location registration process by sending a location update request message (such as LOCATION UPDATE REQUEST, TRACKING AREA UPDATE REQUEST, etc.), and the protocol stack exception or the network side rejects the location update before the UE completes the location update.
- the cause of the abnormality of the location update failure is that the signal coverage difference or the signal interference is large, the RRC radio link establishment fails, the NAS layer receives the RRC layer error indication, or the RRC layer receives the NAS signaling connection release indication, and the UE enters.
- the RRC layer indicates that the location update request message is sent, the RRC layer indicates that the message is sent when the UE sends the location update complete message (TRACKING AREA UPDATE COMPLETE), and the location sent by the network side is not received before the timer T3430 times out.
- Update request message (TRACKING AREA UPDATE REJECT) message, reason field detection failure in the TRACKING AREA UPDATE REJECT message, location update process and other process conflicts, UE authentication failure or Security activation failed, etc. If it is detected that the location registration of the UE fails, it can be determined that the modem's network communication function is abnormal.
- the modem may determine whether the cause of the abnormality of the network communication function is a channel decoding failure, and if so, perform network repair.
- the above-mentioned channel decoding failure may include: failure of decoding of a common channel such as a paging paging channel, or failure of decoding of a broadcast broadcast channel, etc., and no limitation is imposed herein.
- the modem may disconnect the network connection with the current cell, and Set the current cell as a forbidden cell.
- the modem disconnects the network connection with the current cell and sets the current cell as a forbidden cell, which can prevent the modem from repeatedly trying to establish a network connection with the current cell when re-searching the network, thereby avoiding repeated network communication abnormalities. Save power.
- the accessible network can be re-searched.
- the modem can search for a cell service corresponding to its supported Radio Access Technology (RAT).
- RAT Radio Access Technology
- a network connection between the modem and the target cell may be established, and network communication of the modem is implemented through the target cell.
- the modem establishes a communication connection with the target cell to quickly restore the modem's network communication function.
- the modem may be restarted to restore the network communication function of the modem, the operation is simple, and the network communication function is restored efficiently.

- the other cells corresponding to the wireless access technology supported by the modem may be re-searched, the target cell is selected from other cells, the communication connection between the modem and the target cell is established, the network communication function of the modem is restored, and the efficiency of network communication function recovery is improved.
- FIG. 2 is a schematic flowchart of another method for processing an abnormality of a network communication function according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the method includes the following steps:
