Abstract
Description
エピスルフィド化合物にチオール化合物とイソシアナート化合物を加えた組成物の重合反応では、エピスルフィド基の単独重合反応、エピスルフィド基とチオール基の反応、エピスルフィド基とイソシアナート基の反応、チオール基とイソシアナート基のチオウレタン化反応等の種々の反応が複雑に進行するため、樹脂中に屈折率の不均一な部分が生じるなどにより硬化物に脈理や白濁が生じるなどの問題があった。
エピスルフィド基の高い反応性を制御し、得られる硬化物の均一性を高めるために、ケイ素、ゲルマニウム、スズまたはアンチモンのハロゲン化物が提案されている(特許文献5)。しかしながら、特許文献5の実施例に例示されている重合調整剤を用いると、得られる硬化物に白濁が生じる場合があった。
その為、重合速度の制御と得られる光学材料の白濁抑制を両立可能な重合調整剤の開発が望まれていた。
すなわち、本発明は以下の通りである。
[7] [1]~[5]のいずれか一項に記載の光学材料用組成物を重合硬化することを含む、光学材料の製造方法。
以下これらについて詳細に説明する。
本発明のエピスルフィド化合物(a)は、エピスルフィド基を1分子中に1個以上有するエピスルフィド化合物を意味する。
エピスルフィド化合物(a)として、好ましくは1分子中に2個のエピスルフィド基を有する化合物であり、具体的にはビス(β-エピチオプロピル)スルフィド、ビス(β-エピチオプロピル)ジスルフィド、ビス(β-エピチオプロピル)トリスルフィド、ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)メタン、1,2-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)エタン、1,3-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)プロパン、1,2-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)プロパン、1,4-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)ブタン、及びビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオエチル)スルフィドが挙げられる。
この中でもビス(β-エピチオプロピル)スルフィド(式(2))及びビス(β-エピチオプロピル)ジスルフィド(式(2))がより好ましく、最も好ましい具体例は、ビス(β-エピチオプロピル)スルフィドである。
これらの化合物を用いることで、屈折率と強度および耐熱性を高めることができる。これらは単独でも、2種類以上を混合して使用してもかまわない。
本発明において、チオール化合物(b)はメルカプト基を1分子あたり1個以上有するチオール化合物を意味する。
チオール化合物(b)として、好ましくは1分子中に2個以上のメルカプト基を有する化合物であり、具体的にはビス(2-メルカプトエチル)スルフィド、m-キシリレンジチオール、p-キシリレンジチオール、o-キシリレンジチオール、2,5-ビス(メルカプトメチル)-1,4-ジチアン、ペンタエリスリトールテトラキス(2-メルカプトアセテート)、ペンタエリスリトールテトラキス(3-メルカプトプロピオネート)、及び1,2-ビス(2-メルカプトエチルチオ)-3-メルカプトプロパンが挙げられる。
これらの化合物を用いることで、屈折率と強度および耐熱性を高めることができる。これらは単独でも、2種類以上を混合して使用してもかまわない。
本発明において、イソシアネート化合物(c)はイソシアナート基を1分子あたり1個以上有するイソシアナート化合物を意味する。
イソシアネート化合物(c)として好ましくは1分子中に2個のイソシアナート基を有する化合物であり、具体的にはo-キシリレンジイソシアナート、m-キシリレンジイソシアナート、p-キシリレンジイソシアナート、イソホロンジイソシアナート、1,3-ビス(イソシアナートメチル)シクロヘキサン、及びヘキサメチレンジイソシアネートが挙げられる。これらの化合物を用いることで、強度と耐熱性を高めることができる。
これらは単独でも、2種類以上を混合して使用してもかまわない。
本発明で使用するベンジルハライド化合物(d)は、式(1)で表される化合物である。
ベンジルハライド化合物(d)のXとしては、クロロ基、ブロモ基、フルオロ基、ヨード基などが挙げられるが、その中でもクロロ基、ブロモ基が好ましい。
ベンジルハライド化合物(d)のLがハロゲンである場合も上記と同様の基が挙げられ、その中でもクロロ基、ブロモ基が好ましい。
ベンジルハライド化合物(d)の好ましい具体例として、ベンジルクロライド、キシリレンジクロライド、メルカプトメチルベンジルクロライド、イソシアナートメチルベンジルクロライド、クロロベンジルクロライド、ジクロロベンジルクロライド、ベンジルブロマイド、キシリレンジブロマイド、メルカプトメチルベンジルブロマイド、イソシアナートメチルベンジルブロマイド、ブロモベンジルブロマイド、及びジブロモベンジルブロマイドが挙げられる。
より好ましい化合物としては、チオール化合物(b)やイソシアネート化合物(c)に近い構造のものを用いることが挙げられる。例えば、チオール化合物(b)としてキシリレンジチオール、イソシアネート化合物(c)としてキシリレンジイソシアナートを用いる場合には、キシリレンジクロライド、メルカプトメチルベンジルクロライド、イソシアナートメチルベンジルクロライド、キシリレンジブロマイド、メルカプトメチルベンジルブロマイド、及びイソシアナートメチルベンジルブロマイドが好ましい。
これらを選択することで、レンズの光学物性への影響を最小限にすることができ、白濁低減により効果的である。
<硫黄化合物(e)>
本発明の光学材料用組成物は、更に硫黄化合物(e)を添加することができ、得られる硬化物の屈折率向上の点から好ましい。本発明における硫黄化合物(e)は硫黄原子を有する無機化合物を意味する。
硫黄化合物(e)の具体例として硫黄、硫化水素、二硫化炭素、セレノ硫化水素、硫化アンモニウム、二酸化硫黄、二酸化硫黄等の硫黄酸化物、チオ炭酸塩、硫酸およびその塩、硫化水素塩、亜硫酸塩、次亜硫酸塩、過硫酸塩、チオシアン酸塩、チオ硫酸塩、二塩化硫黄、塩化チオニル、チオホスゲン等のハロゲン化物、硫化ホウ素、硫化窒素、硫化珪素、硫化リン、硫化砒素、硫化セレン、金属硫化物及び金属水硫化物が挙げられる。
これらの中で、好ましくは硫黄、二硫化炭素もしくは硫化セレンであり、最も好ましいのは硫黄である。これらの化合物を用いることで、屈折率とアッベ数のバランスに優れた光学特性を付与することができる。これらは単独でも、2種類以上を混合してもかまわない。硫黄化合物(e)を使用する場合の光学材料用組成物中の割合は0.01~40質量%であり、0.1~30質量%、さらに好ましくは1~20質量%である。
重合触媒の添加量は、光学材料用組成物中、好ましくは0.001~5質量%であり、より好ましくは0.005~3質量%である。
重合調節剤の添加量は、光学材料用組成物中、好ましくは0.001~5%であり、より好ましくは0.005~3質量%である。
性能改良剤の添加量は、光学材料用組成物中、好ましくは0.001~10質量%であり、より好ましくは0.005~3質量%である。
本発明の光学材料用組成物は前記エピスルフィド化合物(a)、チオール化合物(b)、イソシアナート化合物(c)、ベンジルハライド化合物(d)及び必要に応じてその他の成分を均一に混合することにより調製される。
光学材料用組成物中の組成比は、各化合物の種類によって得られる光学材料の光学特性、強度、耐熱性など各種物性等により一概には決められないが、通常エピスルフィド化合物(a)は50~90質量%、チオール化合物(b)とイソシアナート化合物(c)化合物の合計が50~10質量%、好ましくは(a)化合物60~85質量%、チオール化合物(b)とイソシアナート化合物(c)化合物の合計が40~15質量%、さらに好ましくはエピスルフィド化合物(a)化合物65~85質量%、チオール化合物(b)とイソシアナート化合物(c)化合物の合計が35~15質量%である。上記範囲にあることで硬化物の耐熱性と強度向上効果を高められる。
また、必要に応じてフィルター等で不純物等をろ過して精製することができる。
本願発明の光学材料用組成物は通常の重合硬化方法を用いて硬化することができる。
例えば、光学材料用組成物をガラスや金属製の型に注入し、電気炉による加熱や、紫外線などの活性エネルギー線を照射するなどにより硬化物を得ることができる。
また、重合終了後、アニール処理を行う事は、光学材料の歪を除くために好ましい処理である。さらに必要に応じて染色、ハードコート、反射防止、防曇性、防汚性、耐衝撃性付与等の表面処理を行うことができる。
本願発明は、このようにして得られた光学材料用組成物を重合硬化した硬化物をも包含するものである。本発明の好ましい態様によれば、本発明の光学材料用組成物を重合硬化することで、重合速度を制御することができ、透明性の高い光学材料を提供することができる。得られた硬化物は、プラスチックレンズ、プリズム、光ファイバー、情報記録基盤及びフィルターなどの光学材料として好適に用いることができる。
[光学材料の製造方法]
上記のとおり、本願発明の光学材料用組成物を重合硬化することでプラスチックレンズ、プリズム、光ファイバー、情報記録基盤及びフィルターなどの光学材料を製造することができる。本願発明は、本願発明の光学材料用組成物を重合硬化することを含む光学材料の製造方法をも包含するものである。
B型粘度計(FUNGILAB社製Visco Elite)を使用し、重合液の20℃での粘度を測定した。
[光学材料の白濁発生率]
実施例及び比較例で得られた光学材料(厚さ10.0mm、φ83mmのプラスチックレンズ)の円形平板100枚を暗室で高圧水銀灯下、目視で観察し、濁りが確認されたレンズは白濁があるものと判定し、白濁発生率を算出した。
エピスルフィド化合物(a)としてビス(β―エピチオプロピル)スルフィド(以下a-1化合物と呼ぶ)を80.0質量部、チオール化合物(b)としてビス(2-メルカプトエチル)スルフィド(以下b-1化合物と呼ぶ)11.2質量部、イソシアナート化合物(c)としてm-キシリレンジイソシアナート(以下c-1化合物と呼ぶ)8.8質量部、ベンジルハライド化合物(d)としてm-キシリレンジクロライド(以下d-1化合物と呼ぶ)0.01質量部、重合触媒としてテトラ-n-ブチルホスホニウムブロマイド0.1質量部を20℃にて3時間混合して光学材料用組成物を調製した。光学材料用組成物の20℃での粘度は42cPであった。
得られた光学材料用組成物を1000Paの減圧下で30分脱気処理し、0.5μmのPTFE製のメンブランフィルターでろ過した。次いで、この組成物を対向する2枚の83mmφのガラスモールドを使用し、外周部にシリコン系の粘着材が塗布された粘着テープで巻いた型に注入し、オーブンを用いて30℃で10時間、30℃から100℃まで10時間かけて昇温させ、最後に100℃で1時間重合硬化させた。硬化物は、室温まで放冷しモールドから離型した後、110℃で1時間アニール処理して光学材料を得た。得られた光学材料の白濁発生率は1%であった。評価結果を、表1に示す。
組成を表1に示すものに変更した以外は実施例1と同様に操作を行った。(ただし、実施例5のみ混合時間を5時間に変更して行った。)得られた光学材料用組成物の粘度、光学材料の白濁発生率の評価結果を表1に示した。
組成を表2に示すものに変更した以外は実施例1と同様に操作を行った。得られた光学材料用組成物の粘度、光学材料の白濁発生率の評価結果を表2に示した。

Claims (7)
- さらに硫黄化合物(e)を含有する請求項1に記載の光学材料用組成物。
- 前記ベンジルハライド化合物(d)が、光学材料用組成物中、0.0001~5質量%の範囲にある請求項1または2に記載の光学材料用組成物。
- 前記ベンジルハライド化合物(d)がベンジルクロライド化合物である請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の光学材料用組成物。
- 前記エピスルフィド化合物(a)の割合が、光学材料用組成物中、50~90質量%の範囲にあり、前記チオール化合物(b)及び前記イソシアナート化合物(c)化合物の合計割合が、光学材料用組成物中、50~10質量%範囲にある請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の光学材料用組成物。
- 請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の光学材料用組成物を重合硬化した硬化物。
- 請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の光学材料用組成物を重合硬化することを含む、光学材料の製造方法
