Abstract
The invention provides a ureteral catheter with the same functionality as an access sheath, and providing entrapment and flushing capabilities for kidney stones. The catheter includes a reinforced, flexible tube with a retractable, claw-like mechanism. A mesh is stretched on the outside of the plurality of claw rods to form a capture cage. The claw can be clamped closed by a drawstring or any alternative method. The catheter may also include a hollow tube directed to the top or past the top of the claw, which serves to irrigate the enclosed area of the catheter. The tube may be in fluid communication with one or more of the rods when the rods are tube-shaped.
