Abstract

In known glass clamps in railing constructions, the clamp halves (4) are mounted one after the other and are equipped with fitting elastic inserts as seals according to the strength of the railing panel (2) that is to be mounted. The novel adjustable glass clamp (1) aims to allow the fastening of glass clamps (1) in a pre-installed manner and to equip them with a uniform elastic seal (9), wherein the external surface can be variably adjusted to the railing construction by various covering elements. In order to achieve said aim, the clamp halves (4) are movably connected to one another before or during the fastening of the glass clamp (1) to the provided strut or to another component and before the insertion of the railing panel (2). In order to fix the railing panel (2) that is to be received, the clamp halves (4) are braced by means of a swivel screw (11), wherein a distance (14) between the inner side of the clamp halves (4) and the surface of the railing panel (2) is compensated at the fixing point by height-adjustable elastic seals (9). The clamp halves (4) are manufactured in a cost-effective manner from a material by punching. The arrangement of covering caps (18) on the clamp halves (4) permits any desired combination and their use at different railing constructions.
