Abstract
The present invention relates to a small wafer for diagnosing skin cancer, which is made from silicon and comprises multiple layers, the first being an n-type semiconductor substrate (2) from the underside of which extends a set of nano sodium-ion selective electrodes (5) and to the top of which is tethered a set of strong polycationic brushes (1). The wafer contains a solution (4) consisting of water in which a small percentage of sodium chloride (NaCl) is dissolved. The wafer is covered by a thin, flexible silicon film (3) and also comprises a needle for injecting the cell with cytochrome c. The aim of the invention is to enable the rapid diagnosis of skin cancer where it is present on the body, and to obtain immediate results by means of the formation of shapes on the surface of the wafer as a result of the movement of the polycationic brush (PMETAC), without needing to perform a biopsy and test the tissues externally of the body, which requires much time and effort to preserve cell activity.
