Toutefois le dispositif multifonction (1) peut être installé au dos de l'ordinateur portable. Dans ce cas, il est fixé au niveau de l'articulation des deux clapets (partie écran et partie clavier) de l'ordinateur. Ce dispositif multifonctions (1) fait à la fois office d'imprimante (2), de fax (4), de photocopieur (5), et de numériseur (6). Dans son aspect compact, le bloc multifonction est recouvert d'une carapace amovible (13) ou pare-choc central (13) qui le protège lorsqu'il est inactif (voir figure 8). Le dispositif multifonction possède tout comme l'outil ordinateur, une autonomie d'énergie grâce à une batterie rechargeable (14) qui lui confère une autonomie de fonction. Le dispositif multifonction possède un bouton de mise sous tension (15). Une fente rectiligne et uniforme sert de zone ou bac d'alimentation papier (16) pour les documents à numériser ou à photocopier. Dans certains cas, le combiné téléphonique (9) est maintenu ferme et fait corps avec tout le reste du dispositif grâce à un système d'attraction par aimantation (17) activé sur ses quatre points fixes (18) jumelés aux zones de polarisation sur l'ordinateur. Dans ce cas-là, le dispositif global a une forme décalée qui lui permet une bonne assise et surtout une excellente ergonomie quant à la manipulation du dispositif intégré multifonctions (1). En effet, le dispositif multifonctions (1) est positionné dans ce type de cas au bas de l'écran de l'ordinateur et est incliné vers l'avant afin de faciliter la recharge en papier dans le bac d'alimentation à papier (16) ; les prises de papier et les sorties de papier se font ainsi du haut vers le bas. Cette forme particulière conférée à l'ordinateur multifonctions permet aussi un accès facile au téléphone embarqué (9) dont l'aspect dans le cas présent est semblable à un dispositif rétractable (24) avec des touches et un écran de contrôle (25) ; le tout présentant l'aspect d'un combiné téléphonique de bureau à clavier dans lequel est embarqué le téléphone (9) qui, quant à lui, peut être utilisé isolément du bloc téléphonique (24) avec la liberté qu'offre tout téléphone portable. Toutefois le téléphone (9) est alimenté par une batterie rechargeable (26) se trouvant à l'intérieur du combiné comme tout portatif, ce qui lui confère une plus grande autonomie. Car même en cas de mise hors tension du dispositif central, c'est-à-dire de l'ordinateur, le téléphone (9) de notre ordinateur innovant, fonctionne toujours. Le téléphone (9) fonctionne avec comme référentiel, l'adresse IP de l'ordinateur. Utilisant le système appelé wireless ou sans fil, ce téléphone embarqué permet à son usager de se déplacer pour communiquer librement et grâce à son module IP de faire des échanges de mail, des appels, envoyer des sms, etc. Le téléphone (9) possède un disque virtuel d'interconnexion avec l'ordinateur par liaison IP. Ce qui lui permet d'interagir avec l'ordinateur dont il est l'hôte. On peut donc partager ou transférer des données et vice versa. En position accrochée mais actif, le téléphone (9) permet un échange de fichiers avec l'ordinateur à souhait, grâce à son port d'alimentation (27) qui sert également de port de connexion de données comme bon nombre de téléphones portables.
