Abstract

A crank comprising a crank arm and a plate which is characterised in that the crank arm (1) and plate (2) are made of one piece of material and the plate (2) contains a hole for a square taper spindle (3) and holes for planetary axles (4).

Description

Crank
This utility model relates to a crank with a plate containing holes for planetary axles and a square hole for square taper spindle.
There is known from application JP 62099293 a crank comprised of a crank arm and a plate in which axles are mounted. The plate contains trapezoidal apertures in order to reduce weight. The plate is a separate element, mounted at the base of the crank arm. There is known from application US 4S54191 a crank whose plate is also mounted at the base of the crank arm. There is known from patent application no. US 8342553 a crank that has an ISIS-type bottom bracket spindle that is rigidly mounted in the plate.
The purpose of developing the utility model is to obtain a crank that can be used for bicycles equipped with the currently most popular type of square taper spindle standard. The purpose of developing the utility model is also to obtain a crank in which there are firmly mounted planetary axies which are used by the gears being a part of the mechanism of the planetary gearbox.
This utility model relates to a crank comprising a crank arm and a piate which is characterised in that the crank arm and plate are made of one piece of material and the plate contains a hole for a square taper spindle and holes for planetary axles.
It is preferable, that the crank contains holes for planetary axles in a number of 3, 4, 5 or 6.
It is preferable, that the crank contains holes for planetary axles that are threaded.
It is preferable, that the crank contains holes for planetary axles that are not threaded.
It is preferable, that the crank contains holes for planetary axles whose centres are at a radial distance of 37.5 mm from the centre of the plate.
It is preferable, that the crank contains threaded holes for type I bearing rods.
It is preferable, that the crank contains holes for type I bearing rods whose centres are at a radial distance of 35.5 mm from the centre of the plate.
It is preferable, that the crank contains holes for type II bearing rods.
It is preferable, that the crank contains holes for type 11 bearing rods whose centres are at a radial distance of 45.5 mm from the centre of the plate.
It is preferable, that the crank contains supports.
It is preferable, that the crank contains recess for the bearing. It is preferable, that the crank contains crank arm at the end of which there is a hole for the pedal.
The utility model has been illustrated in drawings, where Fig. 1 shows the crank on the side of the crank arm, Fig. 2 shows the crank on the side of the plate, Fig. 3 shows the crank in assembly with the elements mounded on it.
Figs 1-3 show crank according to the utility model, which is made of one piece of material and consists of crank arm 1 and plate 2. Plate 2 contains in its central section a hole for a square taper spindle 3. Crank according to the utility model can be freely mounted and dismounted on a square taper spindle, it is not rigidly connected with the spindle. Plate 2 also contains holes for planetary axles 4, which in different forms of the crank according to the model are either threaded or unthreaded. The drawing shows a crank containing 5 holes for planetary axles 4 but other forms of crank according to the model are possible and these contain 3, 4 or 6 holes 4. Plate 2 also contains threaded holes for type f bearing rods S and holes for type II bearing rods 6. Around plate 2, on the inside thereof, there are also supports 7. In the central section of plate 2 there is recess 8 for bearing 9. At the end of the crank arm there is a hole for pedal 10.
The utility model can find application in a planetary gearbox mounted at the front of bicycle, on the bottom bracket spindle.
