- a pressure seal UD3, UD4, UD5, UD6
- Fig. 1-16 show the embodiments of the point-fixed curtain wall system complete with the details, Fig. 1, Fig. 17 - pressure seals, Fig. 18-19 - finishing profile, Fig. 20-21 - first finishing profile, Fig. 22-23 - first covering profile, Fig. 24-25 - mounting bracket, Fig. 26-27 - second middle profile, Fig. 28-29 - second finishing profile, and Fig. 30-31 - second covering profile.
- a curtain wall in the system according to the invention consists of horizontal strips of glass panes attached via bare brackets.
- the glass structure extends by 73 mm from the support structure of the building for the thickness of the glass of 13 mm (the maximum applicable glass thickness) and increases with the decrease of the glass thickness.
- the maximum width obtained for one segment of the system was 1500 mm.
- the maximum height that can be obtained for one segment is 1500 mm for the glass or 1533 mm together with the lower upper or upper and middle bracket. This, however, is not a limit for constructing walls in the system according to the invention in any case when it is necessary to cover larger facade surface area.
- a sequence of a vertical glass pane strip mounted on the system profiles should be used, followed by a horizontal segment, bearing in mind that the structure of the next segment of the curtain wall should be located at a suitable distance from the axis of the extreme mounting elements. This distance is required so as to make a 10 mm gap between the glass of the subsequent segments. These gaps enable free circulation air so that the wall can "breathe”.
- the system according to the invention also makes it possible to make connections at corners. In order to be able to make a connection at a corner, it is necessary to increase the distance from the axis of the extreme mounting element to the end of the glass pane.
- a frameless system according to the invention has unlimited applications in modern construction industry.
- the visible dimensions of the glass mounting brackets are, for example: 60 x 51 [mm] for the upper strip (mounting via first finishing profiles (PK1, PK2).
- the visible dimensions of the middle strip brackets are, for example, 60 x 91 [mm] (mounting via middle profiles (PS1, PS2) and covering brackets (UM1, UM2).
- the visible dimensions of the lower strip mounting brackets are, for example, 60 x 51 [mm] for brackets that make use of the first finishing profile (PK1), or, for example, 60 x 51 [mm] for brackets that make use of the second finishing profile (PK2).
- the new shapes of the profiles allow the glass panes to be mounted in horizontal strips. These shapes allow the user to construct a wall which is mad up of any number of cells in the upward direction.
- a unique connector in the form of the mounting bracket (UM1) dedicated for this system makes it possible to mount a wall on a support structure made of wood, or directly on the building structure.
- the mounting bracket (UMl) is equipped with unique horizontal grooves.
- the walls erected in the system according to the invention may consist of many colours. There is a difference between internal and external elements.
- the internal and external elements are separately prepared for mounting and as such can be made in two different colours. This makes it easier to match the entire curtain wall made in the system according to the invention with the other elements of the facade of the building to which the system will be applied.
- the two following techniques are used to protect the surface of the system elements against corrosion: powder coating in RAL colours, and anodising in accordance with the requirements of the QUALANOD certification mark. All the components of the walls are manufactured in compliance with the applicable European standards.
- the wall in the system according to the invention should be implemented in accordance with the design developed individually for each structure.
- the filling templates and the accessories for attaching the mounting brackets (UMl) to the structure of the building should be chosen on the basis of the system documentation and the static calculations of the design.
- the entire system according to the invention is made of aluminium profiles.
- the elements are made of aluminium obtained by processing aluminium alloy EN AW-6060 T66 (AIMgSiO, 5 F22) in compliance with the following standards:
- Polyester powder coatings as per the following requirements:
- the pressure seals (UD3, UD4, UD5, UD6) have the following characteristics:
- a wall made using the system according to the invention may include a continuous glass surface made of panes with a thickness between 6 mm and 13 mm that meet the requirements set out in PN-B- 13079.
- the thickness of the glass panes depends on their size and the type of application. Tempered glass panes (for interior decoration elements), as well as tempered and laminated glass panes (for external wall decoration elements) can be used. If thin glass panes are used, thicker seals that adequately correspond to the thickness of the glass should be applied.
- the fasteners self-drilling screws, self-tapping screws, bolts, washers, nuts) used for making joints are made of stainless steel in compliance with the standards referred to in the system documentation.
- a wall made according to the invention is attached to the building structure by special mounting brackets (UM1) fastened to the building wall by special dowels or other plugs suitable for the material of the support element of the building.
- UM1 mounting brackets
- the number of brackets used to fasten a pane should be increased. 10 mm gaps should be made between the panes of the successive segments so as to accommodate the movement of the glass under a range of varying weather conditions. If 13 mm thick glass panes are mounted, it should be borne in mind that only 3 mm thick pressure seals should be used for the entire structure. The adjustment for the thickness of the glass used should be carried out by choosing a suitable pressure seal - the thinner the glass, the thicker the pressure seal.
- Snow load can be completely ignored in static calculations for the walls of the system according to the invention, as the system cannot be mounted on a roof or at an angle that would make the snow accumulate.
- the force of wind acts perpendicular to the wall i.e. results in the most unfavourable load of the building, element or partition, and that all windward and leeward surfaces of the building, element, or partition are subject to an evenly distributed force of wind pressure or suction.
- increased local edge load should be taken into account.
- Accurate wind load calculations should be made by the constructor of the building in compliance with PN-EN 1991-1-4 and taking into account the adequately chosen cross-section of load-bearing profile, in compliance with PN-EN 1999-1-1.
