- a relevant prospective buyer is identified based on the user's interaction with different aspects of the current smartphone and information related to these aspects are accessed, processed and stored in the repository. Accordingly, each user is uniquely identifiable through a generated user-profile.
- the interaction and information associated with the current smartphone being used by the user would be retrieved by means of a client which could be a platform, or a network enabled application implemented within the user' device.
- the client detects the type of the device being accessed by the user, and automatically accesses a demography, location, a social networking profile of said user.
- the client could also request user to enter user-specific information like date of ownership or a date of purchase of the current smartphone, etc.
- the client may automatically capture specific parameters, like time since purchase of the current smartphone, and usage and relevancy of the current smartphone in accordance with specific key aspects/features of the smartphone, usage and relevancy of sub aspects/feature within each key aspect. While the feature may depict a certain application within the mobile, the sub-feature may denote a particular control setting or a sub-application thereof.
- a user opinion from various social networking platforms or any other electronic media may also be extracted. Yet, whatever may be the information extracted from the smartphone, the same may not include any personal information of the user.
- the information that can be automatically extracted is controllable by means of the privacy settings provided by the client. Accordingly, the client causes a user-profile generation based on aforesaid extracted information which is connected with the determination of a user-specific operation executed through his smartphone
- the determination of said user-specific operation comprises capturing parameter related to at least one of: a time and/or external conditions during said operation; a plurality of applications installed within said device to access said at least one feature and said sub-feature; one or more characteristics of data generated due to usage of said at least one feature and said sub-feature; and usage of one or more other device related features that assisted usage of said feature and said sub-feature of the computing device.
- the client could record the interest of the user in camera, depending on the frequency of usage of camera, number of applications related to camera and so on. Thereafter, the client would also record the usage of the specific aspects of camera like low light conditions during usage of the camera, time of the day when the image was captured, number of camera related applications, ISO extracted from metadata of the image captured, flash usage during using the cameras and so on.
- the client would similarly record usage of any other key aspect of the smartphone like audio, battery, GPU and as features that would have assisted or influenced usage of camera related features/sub-features or camera related application of the computing device. All this information would be communicated by the client to a processing entity such as server for causing generation of the user-profile.
- a processing entity such as server for causing generation of the user-profile.
- the server may assign a weighted importance index to each key aspect/feature of the smartphone.
- the server may also assign a weighted importance index for each sub aspect/sub-feature within each key aspect of the smartphone.
- the generated user profile would consist of an importance index of usage of camera and in addition an importance index of sub-features like usage of camera in low light, ISO setting etc.
- a commonly known information related to said device may be automatically captured through feedback/rating provided by a large set of users across various online media.
- Such captured information related to such device may pertain to one or more of a build quality, a general feedback to said device, one or more popular features of said device, and a support service lent by device manufacturer.
- a generic information also contributes to the profile generation and may be accordingly weighted within the profile.

- Such characteristic of the XYZ device may be captured based on the generally available information or feedback/reviews related to XYZ device and not from the usage of the device.
- a type of information that a device ABC exhibits a good multi- media experience may be substantiated based on feedback/reviews of the device as well as the usage of multimedia features by the device-user of the device.
- Yet another device DEF may be associated with a brand that lends appreciable customer service, fast software updates etc.
- such information may be captured additionally, as the device-user's usage related information may not provide a true account of the same.
- the generated profile may also include parameters related to a generic customer feedback, a build quality, a customer support service etc and such parameters may be given appropriate weightage.
- Example 1 A user named Penny has a device S2 and uses it for a variety of things like other smartphone users. However, she is an avid photographer and uses her phone to click a lot of selfies at parties and shares them on social networking sites. She has more than 4 camera related applications on her device S2 and uses them to post process the clicked pictures. The client on her phone senses these things through finding out the apps installed, the camera-gallery usage and by parsing the metadata of the clicked pictures. The client shares this information with the processing entity such as a server to cause generation of a profile of for user 1 as a patron for whom camera quality matters a lot and specifically the front camera. [00044] The server is also aware, through data entered by Penny via the client, that the device S2 was bought around 19 months back and based on general statistics available and the websites she is frequenting, she may be considering buying a new smartphone.
- the server has a few recommendations of different smartphone brands and models to be served to potential customers. For example, there may be a recommendation waiting to be served for a device C3 Dual SIM phone which claims its strengths are a wide angle front camera with LED flash combined with selfie apps. Now, since the server understands what Penny's most important requirements are in a smartphone, such advertisement is served to her either on her smartphone or through other internet based media like social networking websites.
- Example 2 Ted has a S 5.1 smartphone and electrically charges the phone for 60-70 minutes before leaving for work every morning.
- the client application within the Ted's phone senses that the phone charges to only about 70-80% daily and also notes that his phone switches off almost every day by 5-6 p.m. All this information is shared with the server by the client and a profile of Ted is generated based on his smartphone charging and usage habits.
- the server may be having multiple smartphone recommendations to be provided in terms of a substantial battery backup.
- Such smartphones like the Device 1 (3200mAh battery), Device 2 (3220 mAh battery), Device 6 (3220 mAh), Device 7 (3100mAh) would be relevant to Ted.
- the server decides to recommend Device 7, highlighting its feature of being able to charge to 75% in just 30 minutes and can charge completely in a little over an hour.
- the recommendation also points out that the charger is a 4.5A charger to aid in fast charging.
- the example 2 clearly illustrates utility of a method of looking into the requirements of Ted who needs a phone with better battery back-up as compared to currently used one. Moreover, the example 2 also considers that Ted usually falls short of accessing a charging facility on any given day. Such an insight enables the server to deliver the right recommendation to Ted.
