Abstract

Disclosed is a light generating device which emits electrons by an electric field emission effect, and forms light according to the generation of electron-hole pairs following electron collisions, and recombination of the electron-hole pairs. The electron-hole pairs are generated in a light source layer having a multi-quantum well structure, without intervention of a p-type semiconductor layer required for formation of ultraviolet rays or visible light, and light is generated by recombination of the electron-hole pairs.
