Definitions
- the present invention relates to a fluid dispenser comprising a fluid reservoir in which the fluid product is stored under pressure and a fluid outlet valve which is operable from a closed position to an open position to define an orifice. of distribution.
- the outlet valve comprises a movable member which rests sealingly on a seat in the closed position and which is out of contact of this seat in the open position.
- the dispenser also comprises an actuating member for moving the movable member between the closed and open positions, this movable member being axially displaceable and resiliently biased against the seat.
- This type of dispenser is widely used in the fields of cosmetics, pharmaceuticals or even perfumery, or even food, to dispense fluid products more or less viscous.
- the present invention wanted to radically break with traditional techniques to provide an outlet valve whose force required to move the actuating member is lower while ensuring a perfect seal.
- the present invention also wanted to break with the usual gestures of pushing axially or tilt a valve stem laterally.
- the present invention also seeks to depart from any unit dosage to provide a distribution as the actuator is actuated.
- the present invention seeks to significantly improve the distribution of creams packaged in pots.
- the present invention proposes that the dispensing orifice and the actuating member are both formed by a rotating disk.
- This disc may be perfectly or substantially flat, for example with a slight concavity, and the dispensing orifice is preferably disposed in the center of this disc around which the disc rotates.
- the axis of rotation of the disk passes through the dispensing orifice.
- the outlet valve opens, the movable member detaching from its seat to gain its open position.
- the dispensing orifice is thus released, and the pressurized fluid product can exit the reservoir to extend on the disk, around the dispensing orifice.
- the user releases the disc, it performs a reverse angular stroke, driven by a return spring. Therefore, each actuation, the rotating disk performs the same angular stroke, then returns to its original starting position.
- the rotating disk comprises a cam element for transforming the rotary movement of the disk into axial displacement of the movable member.
- the cam element comprises a plurality of cam sectors each defining a slope in the form of an arcuate segment.
- the movable member may be provided with a cam member which cooperates with the cam member of the rotating disc.
- the cam member defines as many cam segments in the form of a circular arc segment as there are cam sectors. It can thus be said that the distributor incorporates a cam system for transforming the rotation of the disc into an axial displacement of the movable member which is transverse or perpendicular to the plane of the disc. This cam or displacement transformation system acts between the rotating disk and the movable member of the outlet valve for detaching the movable member from its seat.
- the movable member may be formed by a lid mounted on the reservoir, the rotating disk being rotatably mounted on the lid around the movable member, the rotating disc being advantageously held on the lid by a fret.
- a return spring advantageously flat plastic, acts between the rotating disk and the cover to return the rotating disk in the initial position after each rotation.
- the cover is relatively flat or flat, as well as the disc, so that the return spring must also be flat to be interposed between the lid and the disc. This return spring not only limits the angular travel of the disc relative to the cover, but also returns the disc to its starting position.
- the movable member comprises a needle adapted to engage sealingly in the seat which is formed by the rotating disk, the needle being surrounded by a cam member, which is itself surrounded by resilient means, preferably in the form of flexible tabs, which resiliently urge the needle against the seat.
- the seat forms the dispensing orifice so that the needle is visible from the outer face of the disc.
- the reservoir comprises a pusher piston which slides in a sealed manner in a sliding shaft, the pusher piston being biased by elastic means selected from springs, foams, gases.
- the wall which forms the dispensing orifice is a rotary disc which serves to actuate the fluid outlet valve.
- the disk is preferably flat or flat and rotates around the dispensing orifice. Since the disc has a certain surface, it is possible to affix a visual inscription, such as arrows, to indicate to the user that it is necessary to drive the rotating disk to distribute the fluid product.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a fluid dispenser according to the invention, substantially on a scale of 1,
- FIG. 2 is an enlarged vertical cross-sectional view through the dispenser of FIG. 1;
- FIG. 3 is a plan view of the interior of the dispenser of FIG. 1, and
- Figures 4 and 5 are exploded perspective views of a portion of the dispenser of Figures 1 to 3.
- the dispenser shown in the figures to illustrate the present invention is of a particular type, since it is a pot, which is characterized by its massive and squat shape. It can also be said that the pot is characterized by a substantially flat upper face and whose diameter corresponds substantially to that of the tank.
- the fluid reservoir R is associated with a cover 5 which is mounted on a neck 41 in a fixed and sealed manner, for example by interposition of a neck seal 8.
- the reservoir R here has a somewhat unusual configuration, since it comprises an inner container 1 disposed inside an outer pot 4.
- the inner container 1 internally comprises a sliding shaft 1 1 and a bottom 12.
- the container 1 also contains a pusher piston 2, for example provided with two sealing lips 21.
- This pusher piston 2 is biased by elastic means which are here in the form of a spring 3, which may be a coil spring, and which is supported on the one hand on the bottom 12 and on the other hand under the Pusher piston 2.
- the inner container 1 may for example form a flange on which the neck seal 8 rests and under which is formed the neck 41 which engages with the lid 5 to seal the reservoir R.
- the lid 5 is mounted on the tank R, and more particularly on the neck 41 formed by the external pot 4.
- the lid 5 comprises a fastening ring 58 which engages, for example snapped or screwed, into the outside collar 41.
- the seal can be guaranteed by a neck seal 9 which is crushed between the lid and the reservoir, and more particularly on the upper edge of the inner container 1, as can be clearly seen in FIG. this fixing ring 58, the cover 5 forms a wide annular surface 56 which is substantially or perfectly flat. Within this range 56, the cover 5 forms an annular flange 55 which extends upwards.
- a movable member 51 is disposed inside this flange 55 with which it is connected by means of several tabs or resilient blades 54 which act as elastic means.
- the movable member 51 is axially displaceable inside the flange 55.
- the movable member 51 comprises a shutter needle 52, which is here in the form of a boss or rounded dome. Other shapes may of course be envisaged for the needle 52.
- the movable member 51 forms a cam member 53, which may comprise several identical cam profiles which are arranged in a circle, so that each Cam profile extends over an arc of a circle forming a slight slope. This is more visible in FIG. 4.
- the movable member 51 is thus movable along an axis that is substantially perpendicular to the plane formed by the annular pad 56.
- the dispenser also comprises a rotary disc 6 which is mounted on the lid 5 so as to be able to turn around the needle 52.
- This disc is substantially or perfectly flat on its major part, except at its peripheral edge which forms a flange 68. It is also conceivable that the disc 6 has a slightly concave shape to thereby define a cup of fluid recovery.
- the disc 6 is drilled at its center with a dispensing orifice 62 whose edge forms a valve seat 63 whose shape corresponds to that of the needle 52, in order to be able to make a sealed contact between these two parts.
- the valve seat 63 is surrounded from the outside by a cam member 65 which has a configuration complementary to the cam member 53 formed by the cover 53. More specifically, the cam member 65 may include a plurality of cam sectors each defining a segment-shaped arcuate slope. The number of cam sectors corresponds to the number of cam profiles of the cam member 53.
- the cam member 65 can thus be arranged on the cam member 53 in a perfectly nested manner so that the contact is made on the whole periphery. This configuration corresponds to a closed position, as shown in FIG. 2. The needle 52 then rests against the valve seat 63 in a sealed manner.
- a return spring 7 which acts between the disc 6 and the cover 5.
- the return spring 7 is made of plastic material and has an elastic shape memory.
- the spring 7 it is possible to make the spring 7 in the form of a coil 71 provided at its two ends with attachment caps 75 and 76 which will engage on pins 57 and 67 respectively formed by the cover 5 and the disc 6.
- the return spring limits the angular travel of the disk, for example at an angle less than 90 °, and returns or returns the disk 6 to its initial position as soon as the user has released it.
- arrows 66 arranged at an outer annular band 61 defined around the dispensing orifice 62, as shown in Figure 4.
- a ring 64 which extends around the cam member 65 and which engages, advantageously snapped, around the annular flange 55 formed by the cover 5.
- the latching of these two elements must allow rotation of the disc 6 relative to the cover 5.
- a hoop 8 which engages around of the fixing ring 58 with a lower part and which also engages with the peripheral rim 68 of the cover 6 at an upper portion 82, which advantageously extends on the disc 6.
- the presence of the frette 8 must not prevent rotation of the disc 6 relative to the cover 5.
- the implementation of the present invention in the form of a pot with a substantially flat lid and large diameter allows to use a rotating disc with a corresponding diameter, so that a multiplier effect is created in the extent to which the disk is actuated near its outer edge away from the dispensing orifice.
- the pressure exerted by the fluid product does not affect the sealing of the valve, since the pressure of the fluid product is exerted on the internal face of the movable member 51 which is thus pushed against the seat 63.
- a dispenser preferably in the form of a jar closed by a lid, which is surmounted by a rotating disc which forms the dispensing orifice and which is rotated to open the outlet valve.
