Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a blind for covering a terrace or the like in order to protect it from sunlight and rain.
  • the invention relates to a blind comprising slats which are rotatable about their longitudinal axis between a horizontal position in order to provide maximum shading from the sun and a tilted position in order to allow the maximum amount of sunlight through and the ends of which are displaceably held between two parallel guiding beams in order to move the slats in the tilted position towards one end of the guiding beams in order to provide the largest possible opening between the guiding beams and to allow the maximum amount of light through when this is desired.
  • sunshades are relatively complex and as a result relatively expensive and are additionally easily susceptible to wear and obstructions owing to the complexity.
  • a further drawback is that the system for rotating and displacing the slats is relatively large and is therefore difficult to integrate into the guiding beams, as a result of which a considerable portion of the system is visible or the guiding beams are unnecessarily large, which mars the aesthetic appearance of the sunshade.
