Lv:虚像40の縦方向の長さ(T×tanθ)
T:使用者30の瞳から虚像40までの中心光路における距離
θ:使用者30の瞳から虚像40を見たときの鉛直方向の角度
Yv:表示デバイス12に表示された画像16の縦方向の長さ(虚像の垂直方向の長さに相当)
DL1:第1ミラー13と表示デバイス12の画像16までの間隔
本実施の形態による表示ユニット10を用いた表示装置は、第1ミラー13と第2ミラー14の間隔D12は、0.2<D12/Lv<1.3を満足するように配置されている。望ましくは、第1ミラー13と第2ミラー14の間隔D12は、0.5<D12/Lv<1.0を満足するように配置されている。さらに望ましくは、第1ミラー13と第2ミラー14の間隔D12の上限値は、D12/Lv<0.9を満足するように配置されている。

Claims (6)
- 光透過性の表示部材に画像を投影する表示ユニットを備え、前記表示部材の使用者側とは反対側に表示ユニットが投影する画像の虚像を形成する表示装置であって、
前記表示ユニットは、画像を表示する表示デバイスと、表示デバイスに表示された画像を表示部材に投影する投射光学系とを備え、
前記投射光学系は、表示デバイスから表示部材までの光路に、表示デバイス側に配置される第1反射部材と、表示部材側に配置される第2反射部材とを備え、
前記第1反射部材の表示デバイスに表示される画像を反射する反射面は、凸面形状であり、前記第2反射部材の表示部材に画像を投射する反射面は、自由曲面の凹面形状であり、
かつ前記表示デバイスに表示された画像の縦方向の長さYvと使用者から虚像までの中心光路における距離Tとの関係は、前記画像の虚像の縦方向の長さをLvとしたとき、0.03<√(T×Lv)/Yv<0.22を満足するように構成されている
表示装置。 - 前記表示ユニットにおいて、第1反射部材と第2反射部材の間の間隔D12と、第1反射部材と表示デバイスの画像までの間隔DL1は、3.0<D12/DL1を満足するように構成されている
請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第1反射部材の反射面は、回転非対称の凸面形状である
請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 光透過性の表示部材に画像を投影することにより画像の虚像を形成する表示ユニットであって、
投射光を出射するための開口部を有する筐体と、前記筐体内に収容され、画像を表示する表示デバイスと、前記筐体内に収容され、表示デバイスに表示された画像を表示部材に投影する投射光学系とを有し、
前記投射光学系は、表示デバイスから開口部までの光路に、表示デバイス側に配置される第1反射部材と、開口部側に配置される第2反射部材とを備え、
前記第1反射部材の表示デバイスに表示される画像を反射する反射面は、凸面形状であり、前記第2反射部材の表示部材に画像を投射する反射面は、自由曲面の凹面形状であり、
かつ前記表示デバイスに表示された画像の縦方向の長さYvと使用者から虚像までの中心光路における距離Tとの関係は、前記画像の虚像の縦方向の長さをLvとしたとき、0.03<√(T×Lv)/Yv<0.22を満足するように構成されている
表示ユニット。 - 前記第1反射部材と第2反射部材の間の間隔D12と、第1反射部材と表示デバイスの画像までの間隔DL1は、3.0<D12/DL1を満足するように構成されている
