Abstract

A field replaceable buckle (1) with reinstallable cross bar (4) in which the buckle (1) comprises at least one buckle part (2, 3) having a pair of lateral lugs (11) extending therefrom. Each lateral lug (11) has at least one aperture (22, 24) provided therein. The reinstallable cross bar (4) includes a securing portion (25) and a retaining portion (23). When the reinstallable cross bar (4) is inserted through an aperture (22) in a first lateral lug (11) it is prevented from passing therethrough by the retaining portion (23) and the securing portion (25) is operable to securely, but releasable, engage an aperture (24) in the second lateral lug (11).
