Abstract

A system and method for marking and identification of objects manufactured from a material (1, 101), the system comprising an identification mark or marks (2, 102) and an apparatus for applying the identification mark or marks (2, 102) to objects (1, 101), and further including a register (254) which contains details of the objects (1, 101) and the identification mark or marks (2, 102) which have been applied, along with a reader (255) configured to read the identification mark or marks (2, 102) on the objects (1, 101), the reader (255) further configured to communicate with the register (254) and provide details associated with the identification mark or marks (2, 102).
