Malgré le grand nombre de solutions proposées pour automatiser le garage des véhicules en milieu urbain, on constate dans les agglomérations la persistance, et même la suprématie, des parkings classiques à construction fixe (souterraine ou en hauteur), dans lesquels les conducteurs doivent entrer et circuler pour rechercher eux- mêmes un emplacement en parcourant les nombreux étages.
