Abstract

A media handling device for receiving and distributing media data and a plurality of user devices. Each user device has a camera function and is operable in a media transmit mode to transmit media data of an event occurring at an event venue to the media handling device. Each user device is operable in a media receive mode to receive media data from the media handling device. When operating in the media receive mode, a first user device from amongst the plurality of user devices is operable to select a media source from a second user device among the user devices which are currently operating in the media transmit mode and the media handling device is operable to stream the media data of the event being received from the second user device to the first user device. In this way, device users at an event are able to share media content which they have captured, for example video footage, with other users at, outside or away from the event. This enables users to experience the event from different viewpoints around the event venue.
