Abstract

Smart spectacles for people with special needs, comprising obstacle identification sensors, distance calculators, GPS locator, heat sensor, optical text reader and translator with audio feed, compasses, AM/FM radio, USB port, pen drive, memory card slot, a still and motion picture recording camera, and connectivity to wireless networks (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), allowing the user to move around, use public transportation means and practice sports in an autonomous way. By means of a manually operated control panel located in the temples of the spectacles, the user can access all the functions of the device, and receives through earphones an audio response from the requested function or option.
