Abstract
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for transmitting a control channel in a wireless communication system. The present invention pertains to a method for transmitting a control channel, comprising the steps of: allocating a data area as a sub-control area including a cluster consisting of one or more neighboring resource blocks at a specific position; transmitting a cluster number indicator indicating the number of clusters to a terminal; mapping a physical downlink control channel to resource blocks specified by the number of clusters; and transmitting the mapped physical downlink control channel to the terminal. Accordingly, the control channel may be transmitted by hopping on a resource block unit in the data area, thereby obtaining a frequency diversity gain and increasing the reliability of decoding in the terminal.
