Definitions
- the present invention relates to a washer of which electric energy consumption expenses are decreased.
- a dishwasher that comprises a storage tank wherein the water which is externally heated to be used during peak electricity demand is stored.
- the aim of the present invention is the realization of a washer such as dishwasher or washing machine wherein washing algorithms compatible with smart-grid are applied and the washing performance of which is improved and/or the washing duration of which is shortened.
- the washer realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof comprises a control unit wherein the start time and end time information of the cheap and expensive electricity consumption tariff determined by electricity distribution companies is recorded and a chamber wherein hot water is stored to be used in the washing process performed at time periods during which expensive electricity tariff is applied.
- the temperature of the water in the chamber is measured by means of a temperature sensor; when the temperature of the water decreases under a predetermined limit value, the temperature of the water stored in the chamber is kept constant by means of a heater that directly heats the water in the chamber or a heater used in washing processes in the washing tub and the water is provided not to get cold during the waiting time.
- the washer for example a dishwasher or a washing machine, comprises a circulation pump that provides the circulation of the water in the washing tub, a heater disposed at the inlet of the circulation pump, outside or inside the tub, a multiple way pump outlet valve disposed at the outlet of the circulation pump, which delivers the water received from the tub back to the tub for circulating the water during the heating time and guides the heated water to the chamber, and a hot water feedback line disposed between the pump outlet valve and the tub.
- a circulation pump that provides the circulation of the water in the washing tub
- a heater disposed at the inlet of the circulation pump, outside or inside the tub
- a multiple way pump outlet valve disposed at the outlet of the circulation pump, which delivers the water received from the tub back to the tub for circulating the water during the heating time and guides the heated water to the chamber
- a hot water feedback line disposed between the pump outlet valve and the tub.
- the washer comprises a multiple way water inlet valve that guides the water received from the water mains to the chamber to be stored at time periods during which electricity is cheap or to the tub to be used in washing processes, a water filling line that provides the water inlet valve-chamber connection, and the heater is situated inside the chamber.
- the washer comprises a flow through heater situated in the water filling line and an additional circulation pump that provides the circulation of the water between the chamber and the heater to be heated again, when the water in the chamber gets cold.
- the heater is not operated in the washing processes at time periods during which electricity consumption cost is high and the hot water that is previously stored in a chamber is used.
- the temperature of the water stored in the chamber is controlled by means of the temperature sensor, when the waiting time in the chamber is prolonged and the water gets cold, the water is provided to be kept hot by operating the heater and the washing performance is prevented from decreasing.

- the hot water heated by the heater (9, 109, 209) up to a temperature required for the washing process is stored in the chamber (5).
- the hot water stored in the chamber (5) at time periods during which the electricity unit price is expensive is delivered to the tub (2) from the hot water transmission line (6) and used in the washing process.
- cold water is received from the outer water connection (M), heated by means of the heater (9, 109, 209) and stored in the chamber (5).
- the water kept in the chamber (5) to be used at the expensive electricity period gets cold in due course and the temperature of the water is controlled by means of a temperature sensor (8), for example a PTC, in the chamber (5).
- a temperature sensor (8) for example a PTC
- the washer (1) comprises a circulation pump (10) that provides the circulation of the washing water, a heater (9) situated before the circulation pump (10), outside or inside the tub (2), a multiple way pump outlet valve (11) disposed at the outlet of the circulation pump (10), which delivers the water received from the tub (2) back to the tub (2) for circulating the water by being passed from the heater (9) during the heating time and guides the water to the chamber (5) when the temperature of the water reaches the desired level, and a feedback line (12) one end of which is connected to the pump outlet valve (11) and the other end to the chamber (5) ( Figure 1).
- the control unit (4) applies a water heating and storage program not intended for washing at time periods during which electricity consumption cost is low.
- the heater (9) that heats the water in the chamber (5) is used for heating the water in the tub (2) as in the known embodiments in normal washing processes.
- water is received to the tub (2) from the outer water connection (M) by means of the water inlet valve (3) to be used at times during which electricity is expensive and the water in the tub (2) is passed over the heater (9) by operating the circulation pump (10).
- the water in the tub (2) is heated by being circulated between the tub (2) and the heater (9) and the heated water is delivered to the chamber (5) by means of the pump outlet valve (11).
- the amount of the water received to the tub (2) and then to the chamber (5) after being heated is controlled by means of a level sensor (not shown in the figures) situated in the tub (2) or the chamber (5) or by means of a flow meter (not shown in the figures) situated at the outlet of the water inlet valve (3).
