Definitions
- the present invention relates to a technology that can enhance the user's interest by enabling the user's performance to be checked in a relative evaluation method with other users in the on-lime sports game in which the user and the game environment can be confronted.
- Online games are an important part of the online culture industry recently due to the development of network and computer technology. Users access a game server using a user's terminal, select a certain character, and manipulate a character online to play a game. With the development of online games, users are demanding online games of various genres, and a wide variety of online games are currently being serviced.
- online game methods are also diversifying. Online game methods have been diversified, but largely, PVP (Player Versus Player) method that confronts users and game environment (where game environment is mainly provided by game server as virtual enemy provided by game service) It's divided into two game types, PVE (Player Versus Environment).
- the PVP method is mainly applied to online games such as a competitive game or a first-person shooter (FPS) game, and the PVE method is an online game such as (Massively Multi-play Online Role Play Game). Mainly applies to
- the PVP scheme and the PVE scheme may be selected and applied according to the characteristics of the online games of various genres, but most of the online games currently being serviced tend to support both the PVP scheme and the PVE scheme. This is a way to increase the user's interest by supporting both PVP mode and PVE mode in the same online game.
- the PVE mode is not a confrontation structure between users but a confrontation structure between the user and the game environment
- the difficulty setting of the game is very important. In other words, if the difficulty of the game is easy, users become bored quickly and lose interest in the game. On the contrary, if the difficulty is too high, users give up the game. Therefore, the difficulty should be adjusted to keep users interested in the game.
- the present invention in the PVE mode immediately after the end of each game and after the end of the league that performs a plurality of games in succession, the user's ability against the other users by evaluating the competition to the game to further increase the interest in the game

- “communication”, “communication network” and “network” may be used as the same meaning.
- the three terms refer to wired and wireless local and wide area data transmission and reception networks capable of transmitting and receiving files between a user terminal, a terminal of other users, and a download server.
- game server means a server computer to which users access to use game contents.
- a plurality of game programs may be operated in one game server.
- the game server may be connected to a server that performs middleware or payment processing for the database, the description thereof will be omitted in the present invention.
- the game character refers to all characters appearing in the game in which users can experience one sport of sports in the online game.
- the game character appears on the game screen and performs certain actions in the game according to the user's operation.
- the game character may be raised in the level while accumulating a certain experience value according to the result of the game, the character's ability value becomes stronger as the level increases.
- sports means sports in a general sense, and means sports of all sports that can be executed as online games. For example, soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, volleyball, athletics, martial arts, and the like can be included.
- FIG. 1 is a flowchart of a game evaluation method of an online sports game according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- a user executes a game (S110).
- Game execution may be performed by a user accessing a web page provided by a game server to execute a game client. If a game client is not installed on the user's computer, the user can download the game client from the game server and install it on the user's computer.
- the game server provides a lobby screen for selecting game execution conditions to the game client.
- the user selects a game condition for running the game (S120).
- the game condition means various base conditions necessary for the user to perform the game.
- the game conditions may include channels, leagues, teams, game characters, and the like, and game conditions may be provided in various ways depending on the type of game.
- the PVE mode is set as one of the playing conditions. This is because relative evaluation is more suitable for PVE mode than for PVP mode. However, relative evaluation can also be applied in PVP mode.
- the game character in the game condition refers to all characters appearing in the game where users can experience a sport of sports in the online game.
- the game character appears on the game screen and performs certain actions in the game according to the user's manipulation.
- the game character may be raised in the level while accumulating a certain experience value according to the result of the game, the character's ability value becomes stronger as the level increases. Therefore, the game character is the presence of the user in the game, and the user tries to increase the ability of the character.
- the game client transmits the selected game condition to the game server, and the game server starts a game according to the transmitted game condition (S130).
- the game proceeds according to the user's operation, the user's operation is transmitted to the game server through the game client, and the game server proceeds by transmitting the user's operation result to the game client according to the rules defined in the game.
- the game server analyzes and displays the game result (S150).
- the result of the analysis analyzed here is first analyzed for the finished game, including the analyzed game contents accumulated in the league, and then the league analysis is performed. Thereafter, cumulative analysis of the game character who performed the game and cumulative analysis of the user may be performed.
- the game contents to be analyzed can be variously set according to the type of game. For example, if the game is an online soccer game, the game contents to be analyzed include win / loss, match score and actual score, MVP, attack propensity, goal score by player, etc. This may be included.
- the game analysis result displayed here is a concept of absolute evaluation of the game played by the user.
- the score and the actual score in the game of the online soccer game, the scoring status of each player and league performance are not absolute comparisons, but are simply evaluated according to the rules specified in the game.
- Absolute evaluation is an appropriate method for evaluating a user's level, and a plurality of users may all receive an evaluation above a predetermined criterion, or all may receive an evaluation below a criterion, and are used as a reference evaluation for raising the user's level sequentially. .
- the criteria for raising or lowering the user's level by absolute evaluation are predetermined in the game.
- the game server stores the analyzed game content and calculates a relative evaluation score of the user based on evaluation statistics of all users to be compared (S160).
- the method of calculating the relative evaluation score may be set variously according to the game.
- the evaluation target items to be included in the calculation of the relative evaluation score are predetermined in the game server, and the relative evaluation of all the matches of all users may be calculated, and the relative evaluation of the matches of the users of a specific league or a specific period may be calculated. .
- This comparison target may also be preset in the game server.
- the game server performs statistical processing on the analyzed game contents of the plurality of users in order to calculate the relative evaluation, and secures in advance a statistics queue for storing the statistical data.
- a statistics queue for storing the statistical data.
- the secured queue statistical data about the analyzed game contents of the users are stored, and when the users finish the game, the analyzed queue contents are again included in the analyzed game contents and stored in the statistical queue.
- the statistical processing may include an average and a standard deviation of each item to be evaluated. Based on the statistical data, the current user's game level among the plurality of users is calculated.
- the user determines whether to check a relative evaluation through which the user can check how much his level is among the plurality of users (S170).
- the relative evaluation is an evaluation for determining how much one's own game ability is among the plurality of users. That is, since the evaluation is determined by the comparison between users rather than the level specified in the game by the absolute evaluation, the evaluation result may depend on the user's ability rather than the effect of the difficulty of the game.
- the calculated relative evaluation result is displayed to display the game level of the current user compared to other users (S180).
- the relative evaluation result may simply display the grade or rank of a specific user for all the users, or provide a relative evaluation score for each item to be evaluated to check the strengths and weaknesses of the specific user in the game. . Therefore, the user can obtain a high achievement through the opponent evaluation and maintain the interest in the game even when playing a game of easy difficulty.
- the user After checking the opponent evaluation result or if it is determined that the opponent evaluation result is not checked, the user then determines whether to end the game or perform another game (S190). If the user decides to end the game, the user terminates the game client program and disconnects from the game server. However, if the user wants to perform another game, the user can return to the game condition selection step S120 to perform another game. However, in some cases, the user may not want to change the game condition, so in some cases, the step of skipping the game condition may be omitted and another step may be immediately started (S130).
- the adjustment of the difficulty level in the online game is a very important factor for keeping users interested in the game.
- Some users who are familiar with online games may feel bored in low difficulty games as the levels rise sequentially from low level to high level.
- game service companies have difficulty coordinating the difficulty of games because new users who start new online games must be able to continuously participate.
- FIG. 1 if the relative evaluation is calculated between the users and the relative evaluation results are displayed to the user, the user can increase the interest in the game by increasing the difficulty of the game and the competition among the users. have.
- FIG. 2 illustrates a flow of analyzing game contents according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- game content analysis is an absolute evaluation of a user and is automatically analyzed when every game is performed as a reference value for changing a user's level in a game.
- the game server extracts an evaluation item (S151).
- the evaluation item is previously assigned to the game server, and various items may be set according to the game.
- the evaluation is performed on each of the evaluation items extracted for the finished game (S152). Similar to the evaluation item extraction, the evaluation method for each evaluation item is also predetermined in the game server.
- the evaluation method for each evaluation item is also predetermined in the game server.
- online sports games are implemented based on offline sports, it is not only easy for users to understand the evaluation items and evaluation criteria of offline sports, but also a reliable rating that can increase the interest of the game. Because it can be.
- the analyzed result is displayed so that the user can grasp the contents of the match performed by the user (S154).
- the evaluation of the finished game itself is important, but cumulative evaluation, like offline sports, is also an important factor.
- a league-type sports game the evaluation of an individual game itself is important but common, as can be seen in offline sports where a game is played in a league format where multiple matches are played and the results of multiple matches are accumulated to determine performance.
- the concept of the season puts more emphasis on the league performance based on the cumulative result of the season. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the cumulative result of accumulating the game results because it can be applied to the online game serviced on the basis of offline sports. After displaying the result of the competition, this is calculated by accumulating the evaluation results for each item (S155).
- the cumulative evaluation results for each item are collected to perform a comprehensive evaluation on the cumulative result (S156).
- the cumulative result is displayed through the game client (S157).
- the evaluation of the cumulative result may be displayed on the same screen together with the comprehensive evaluation of the previously displayed game contents or may be displayed on a separate screen. Also, although not shown, the user may select directly whether to display an evaluation of the cumulative result in the game client.
- the comprehensive evaluation of the cumulative result can be seen as an absolute evaluation of the user's level. Therefore, in a game that assigns a level to each user, if the comprehensive evaluation of the cumulative result is above or below the level grade designated by the game server, it is necessary to adjust the user's level. Accordingly, the game server analyzes the cumulative result evaluation of the user to determine whether the level is changed (S158). If the cumulative result evaluation of the user is outside the designated reference range in the current rating of the user, the game server changes the user's level and displays the changed level to inform the user that the level has been changed (S159). However, if the cumulative evaluation of the user is within a specified reference range in the user's current rating, there is no need to adjust the level.
- FIG 3 and 4 are views showing the game content analysis result screen displayed according to an embodiment of the present invention, the screen showing the game content analysis results in the online soccer game of the online sports game.
- the game content analysis in the online soccer game may be performed in a manner similar to the analysis of the sports game on the offline, and thus the game content analysis result is expressed similarly to the analysis result for the offline sport game.
- FIG. 3 is a schematic evaluation of the results of the game, the results of the importance in the online soccer game, such as win or lose, points and points, player ratings, team ratings, etc. are displayed, and as an additional evaluation items experience and level points (LP) Is displayed.
- Figure 4 is an evaluation of the detailed items for the game results, the items such as occupancy, number of shots, effective number, penalty kick, corners, etc. by region are evaluated. Evaluation of the results of the online soccer game of FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 is evaluated in the same manner as the content analyzed in the offline soccer game. If the number of evaluation items for the game result is not large, the evaluation results of all evaluation items may be displayed on one screen.
- FIGS. 3 and 4 may be configured as a screen that is automatically displayed at the end of the game, and the detailed evaluation items of FIG. 4 may be configured to be selectively checked by the user. .
- FIG. 5 is a diagram showing a game contents analysis result screen displayed according to an embodiment of the present invention. Unlike FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, which show only evaluations for one recently completed game, FIG. Represents an evaluation of the accumulated game results.
- FIG. 5 illustrates the cumulative evaluation result for the online soccer game, and shows a cumulative evaluation of one season in the league in the same manner as the method of evaluating the cumulative match result of the offline soccer game.
- the cumulative evaluation result shown in FIG. 5 is displayed on the team score, attack propensity, cumulative warning and withdrawal count calculated as the average and the cumulative team performance of the user in the current season in the league of the online soccer game.
- the cumulative game of one season is evaluated, but the cumulative evaluation result may be cumulative evaluation of all the games played by the user according to the type of game. In a game in which two characters can be used alternately, cumulative evaluation may be performed for each character. It is also possible to perform a cumulative evaluation only for matches within the time period specified by the server. That is, the game that is the target of the cumulative evaluation may be variously set in the game server according to the type of game, the character and the game execution period.
- FIG. 6 shows a flow for calculating relative evaluation in accordance with an implementation of one embodiment of the present invention.
- a relative evaluation item is first extracted (S171). Since the relative evaluation is performed based on the analyzed game contents, it may be composed of the same items as the analyzed game contents. However, since the game contents generally include detailed game contents of the game results as shown in FIG. The amount of data is large as data for simple evaluation. Therefore, it is not necessary to use all the analyzed matches as an item for opponent evaluation, so it is necessary to extract some of them as opponent evaluation items.
- the relative evaluation item to be extracted is predetermined in the game server.
- the opponent evaluation items include league odds, team scores, team runs, and player individual scores. The dual player individual score is selected as the player individual score for the player who has the most goals in the soccer team in which the user operates.
- the game server acquires the relative evaluation data corresponding to the opponent evaluation item of the analyzed game contents (S172).
- the obtained relative evaluation data may be data about a game recently performed, but more preferably, data about accumulated game results.
- the result of the relative evaluation may show a very large deviation in each game. Therefore, it is more preferable to perform relative evaluation with data on the accumulated game results so that the user's average ability level can be confirmed compared to the total users.
- Statistical data stored in the statistical queue is again statistically processed, including the obtained relative evaluation data (S173).
- the statistical data stored in the statistics queue may be separately processed for each period, group, and game mode.
- the difficulty level of each league is not the same.
- such a difference in difficulty makes it difficult to accurately evaluate the user. That is, reliability may be lowered when performing relative evaluation between users under different conditions.
- the game server may generate statistics for each league.
- the user may be provided with an accurate opponent evaluation by allowing the user to evaluate his or her ability among the users who play the game in the same league.
- the period setting for statistical data not only reduces the amount of unnecessary data accumulated for users who do not have access to the game, but also corrects the relative evaluation over time by performing statistical processing only on statistical data within a recent period. To increase.
- statistics on team scores in online soccer games can be obtained by multiplying the average of the number of games played so far by the average of the total number of games played by the user to the average. Can be. That is, if the total number of matches in the league is 38 games and the average is 38 goals, the average score when 10 games are played may be calculated as 10 goals.
- the ranking criteria for each relative evaluation item are set based on the statistical data (S174).
- the rating criteria for the relative evaluation items are to perform rating evaluation for the user's ability. Even if the relative evaluation is performed, when only a ranking of each item is shown when the number of users is very large, the user may not realize how much his or her skills are actually. For example, if there are 100,000 users in the league and the current user ranks 10,000th, the user is in the top 10% of the total users, but is more heavily influenced by the 10,000th ranking to prevent competition. Can be. Accordingly, in the present invention, by setting the rating criteria for each of the relative evaluation items, by displaying the user's level as a rating to encourage the user's motivation and improve the competition.
- Table 1 ranking Rating criteria A The upper 0% is more than 5% B It is less than 10% more than the top 5% C It is less than 20% more than the top 10% D It is less than 40% more than the top 20% E It is less than 80% more than the top 40% F 100% over the top 80%
- Table 1 shows an example of the grading criteria for the relative evaluation items.
- the grades for the relative evaluation were divided into six grades.
- the rating criteria for each rating were set as a percentage of the total number of users. This is because, due to the characteristics of the relative evaluation, the grade cannot be set by a simple score calculation method.
- it may not be evenly divided by the same ratio of the grade criteria corresponding to each grade. This is to increase the motivation for the game by lowering the ratio of the higher rank in the opponent evaluation.
- the same grade criteria may be set for each of the relative evaluation items, or different grade criteria may be set. In the present invention, it is assumed that the same grade criteria are applied to all relative evaluation items for convenience of description.
- the rating score for each grade makes it easy to calculate the user's ratings in the comprehensive relative evaluation of not only the relative evaluation of each item but also the entire items.
- Table 2 shows an example of setting the evaluation score for each grade. It is preferable to provide the evaluation scores for each grade in a very simple manner, as shown in Table 2, for convenience of calculation, and all the evaluation scores for the same grade are set for each relative evaluation item, or for each grade depending on the importance of each item. Evaluation scores can be set. In the present invention, for convenience of explanation, it is assumed that the same evaluation score for each grade is set for all relative evaluation items.
- the grade for each item is set, it is checked whether the relative evaluation data of the user acquired for each item belongs to which grade in the corresponding item (S176).
- the user's rating can be checked by calculating the relative rating of the user as a percentage using the standard deviation and substituting it in Table 1. However, depending on the item, it may not be possible to simply calculate and assign the user's relative grade as a percentage. For example, the other four items of the above evaluation criteria (League Odds, Team Scores, Team Occupations, Player Own Scores), except for Team Odds, are used when the number of users in the league is low or when a special game situation occurs. As the grade difference between the upper grade and the lower grade decreases, the user's ability may not be represented.
- the evaluation score for each item is calculated according to the determined grade.
- the above-described method for calculating the comprehensive grade is one example, and the overall grade may be calculated by another method. For example, it is possible to calculate the total score by simply summing the evaluation scores for each item and make a comprehensive grade table corresponding to the overall score. In the case of simple summation, since the decimal place is not generated unlike the average, an error due to rounding can be reduced.
- the comprehensive grade it is determined whether a grade change has occurred by comparing the previously calculated item grades and comprehensive grades with the currently calculated item grades and comprehensive grades (S178). If a rating change has occurred, the game client displays that the rating has changed along with the changed rating. Here, the grade change can be displayed through a separate window or individual user notice. However, if there is no change in the grade, it is determined whether or not the game ends, as shown in Figure 1 (S180).
- FIG. 7 shows a relative evaluation result screen displayed according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 7 a relative evaluation result of the online soccer game is illustrated, and league odds, team scores, team actual scores, and individual player scores are set as relative evaluation items.
- the user's score of the item is displayed, and finally, the overall rating of all the relative evaluation items is displayed on the upper left.
- the gauge bar as well as showing the grades of each relative evaluation item as well as the user grades of each item in detail, the user can intuitively analyze their skills.
- the ratings of each relative evaluation item allow the user to analyze the weak and strong areas. Since the relative rating of FIG. 7 is a comparison between users, it may be distinguished from an absolute rating.
- the season scores which are absolute rating items in the game shown in Fig. 5, will be classified as the highest ratings.
- all users may be classified as top rated.
- the relative ratings of each item of FIG. 7 are classified by comparison among users, even if the season score is the highest rating, the relative ratings of each item may appear differently. Therefore, users can keep their interest in the game by inspiring competition by checking the relative evaluation.
- FIG. 8 shows a relative evaluation result screen displayed according to another embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 8 illustrates a case in which the statistical data for performing the relative evaluation is initialized when the game environment is changed due to an update or a patch applied to the game, and the rating for the relative evaluation does not appear.
- the game server may count the number of matches accumulated in the statistical data, and set up to provide a relative evaluation score only when the accumulated number of matches exceeds a preset number of matches (for example, 10,000 games).
- a preset number of matches for example, 10,000 games.
- the user may indicate that the condition for performing the relative evaluation is not satisfied so that users do not protest that the relative evaluation score is not displayed.
- FIG 9 illustrates a relative evaluation screen selection interface according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- Relative evaluation is not information that a user must appear while the game is in progress, as shown in FIG. Therefore, it is desirable to be able to confirm only when the user wants to confirm the relative evaluation. Therefore, in FIG. 9, a button that can be accessed as a screen for checking a relative evaluation is added to the lower left corner. At the top of the button, the total number of users who are subject to relative evaluation is displayed to increase the reliability of the relative evaluation.
- FIG. 10 illustrates a method for providing a relative evaluation item according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- Relative evaluation may increase the interest of the game by inducing competition to the user by itself, but may also provide a rating item according to the rising of the relative rating in order to further enhance the user's interest.
- the changed grade is displayed, and it is determined whether the changed grade is a grade rise (S179-1). If it is determined that the grade is raised, it is determined whether or not the entry is the first entry (S179-2). This is because, unlike the level increase in the game, the change in the rating is very frequent in the relative evaluation, and the item cannot be provided at every level because the rating is increased or decreased rather than simply being increased. Therefore, it is determined whether the user has entered the current grade for the first time, and if the user has entered the current grade for the first time, a designated grade item is provided (S179-3).
- the rank item may be provided as the same item at every rank increase, or may be provided as a different item according to each rank. It may also display a plurality of items and allow the user to select one of them.
- the rating item is preferably set to be paid only when the user has performed more than the specified number of games.
- a step of determining the number of games of the user may be added before determining whether the rank has been raised.
- FIG. 11 illustrates a relative evaluation result screen displayed according to another embodiment of the present invention.
- the relative evaluation result screen for allowing the user to check the relative evaluation during the season of a specific league is shown.
- you finish all seasons in the league and end the season you will typically see a different season results screen than at the end of a single match. That is, when the season is over, the cumulative match contents of all the match results in the corresponding season are displayed, and in the present invention, the relative evaluation result of the corresponding season may be displayed on the season result screen. That is, by not only showing the results of the season match, which is an absolute rating, but also providing a relative evaluation of the overall performance of the season, it is possible to finally display the level of a specific user among the users who have actually performed the same league.
