Description
TITLE
BRUSH STRUCTURE WITH REMOVABLE HANDLE
DESCRIPTION
The present invention refers in general to a brush structure with removable handle.
Hairbrushes having a body formed normally by a cylindrical element showing a circular cross section and associated detachably to a handle are known and used above all in the professional sector.
Typically, removable interconnection means are provided between the brush handle and the brush body. The interconnection means comprise an insertion male element, defined at the longitudinal end of the handle facing the brush body, and a female element obtained in the brush body.
In order to keep the brush body locked on the brush handle in the coupling condition, locking teeth are provided on the brush handle and are controlled by means of a control button positioned on the brush handle. The locking teeth are intended to be inserted in the inside of respective complementarily shaped seats arranged at the female element.
For instance, a brush structure having the above described features is disclosed in U.S. Patent No. 6,501 ,585.
However, it has been found that the known brush structures are not free from drawbacks.
Firstly, considering the brush structures with mutually detachable handle and body, it has been found that in the coupling/uncoupling of brush handle and brush body there are problems and difficulties due to the necessity of intervening on a button obtained in a position that is not always accessible to the fingers of the
user.
Besides, the locking between the male element and the female element is guaranteed by locking teeth which are provided with extremely delicate spring mechanisms which could compromise the functionality of the teeth in case of a frequent use.
In addition, the known solutions provide that the female element is defined on the brush body: however, this constructive choice reduces both the inner volume of the brush body in which the bristles are arranged and the strength of the brush body on the whole.
The primary task of the present invention is to provide a brush structure with removable handle in order to remove, or at least to drastically reduce the drawbacks noted above.
In said primary task, an aim of the present invention is to provide a brush structure with removable handle allowing a fast, intuitive, reliable detachment of the handle from the body of the brush, the detachment being finalized to a use as curlers of the brush bodies that are detached from the handle (as represented in figure 4).
Another aim of the present invention is to provide a brush structure with a removable handle having improved properties of heat accumulator.
Another aim, but not last, of the invention is to provide a brush structure with removable handle showing a very simple structuring and a practical, reliable utilization.
Said task as well as further aims to be better explained below are accomplished by a brush structure with removable handle according to the contents of claim 1.
Further features and advantages of the invention will be more evident from the description of some preferred and non-exclusive embodiments of a brush structure with removable handle according to the present invention, represented as an indicative and non-limitative example in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is a perspective, exploded view of a preferred embodiment of a brush structure with removable handle according to the invention;
Figure 2 is a perspective view of a brush structure with removable handle, in which the brush body is connected to the brush handle;
Figure 3 is a perspective view of a brush body, used as a curler, on which a lock of hair is wound;
Figure 4 is a perspective view of the detachment phase in which the brush body is detached from the brush handle.
In the following embodiments, single features are described with reference to specific examples but said features may be substituted with other different features of other embodiments.
In addition, it is to be noted that in case the proceedings for the grant of the patent should ascertain known matter, it is intended that this known matter is not claimed and must be removed (disclaimer) from the claims.
The present invention refers to a brush structure, denoted on the whole by reference number 1 , comprising a handle 2 detachably connectable, by interconnection means 3, to at least one respective brush body 4.
According to the present invention, the interconnection means comprise at least one male element 14 insertable in a respective female seat 12 in order to transfer the rotation, about its own longitudinal axis 100, of said handle 2 to said
brush body 4; connecting means of the magnetic type 20 acting between said at least one male element 14 and the respective female seat 12 to allow the locking of the male element 14 in the respective female seat 12 and therefore, to allow the locking of the body of the brush 4 on the handle 2. The connecting means of the magnetic type 20 may comprise, as it will be better described below, a magnet body 9 stably accommodatable at a respective accommodation seat 20a which is formed in said female seat 12 and a respective conducting element 6a which is fixed stably to said male element 14.
According to a preferred embodiment, the brush structure 1 comprises a male element 14 which protrudes from a first longitudinal end 4a of said brush body 4 insertable in a respective female seat 12 provided at an end portion 2a of the handle 2.
Properly, both the male element 14 and the female seat 12 are arranged at the longitudinal axis 100 of the brush body 4 and brush handle 2, respectively.
Advantageously, the male element 14 and the respective female seat 12 have a polygonal transverse cross-section, for instance rectangular or square, mutually complementarity shaped, in order to efficiently transfer the rotation from the handle 2 to the body 4 of the brush.
The brush body 4 comprises, at its lateral surface 4b and at the first longitudinal end 4a, a first annular abutment body 30 for the release, by means of a push for mutually spacing said handle 2 and said brush body 4, of the connecting means of the magnetic type 20 which are properly the magnet body 9 and the conducting element 6a.
In this way, the locking of the brush body 4 to the handle 2 is very practical and immediate through the connecting means of a magnetic type 20 comprising
the magnet body 9 and the conducting element 6a and at the same time, the release is very easy and independent from the position of the hand and the position of the fingers around the handle 2.
Advantageously, the brush body 4 comprises, at its lateral surface 4b and at the end 4c that is opposite with respect to the first longitudinal end 4a, a second annular abutment body 31. Specifically, the first and second annular abutment bodies (30, 31) are adapted to keep the lock of hair wound along the extension of said brush body 4 so as to prevent a portion of the lock of hair from slipping outwards and consequently from being wound only partially around the brush body 4.
According to a preferred embodiment, the brush body 4 comprises a perforated cylindrical body 5 which accommodates a metallic core 6, which runs parallel to the longitudinal direction of the perforated cylindrical body 5 (and brush body 4).
The metallic core 6 is associated with a plurality of bristles 7 that are extended radially from the metallic core 6 and protrude partially, with their respective free ends, from the outer surface of said perforated cylindrical body 5.
According to another aspect of the present invention, heat accumulation means are provided which can be accommodated within said perforated cylindrical body 5.
More in detail, the heat accumulation means 8 comprise at least one longitudinal bar 8a made of conducting material, advantageously metal, lockable within said perforated cylindrical body 5 by the plurality of bristles 7.
According to a preferred embodiment, the metallic core 6 has, at its longitudinal end directed towards said handle 2, the conducting element 6a which
is designed to constitute, together with said magnet body 9, the connecting means of the magnetic type 20.
Specifically, the conducting element 6a, defined by the longitudinal end of the metallic core 6 emerges close to the free end of the male element 14.
In this case, the female seat 12 has the magnetic body 9 at its portion facing the conductive element 6a when the male element 14 is inserted in the female seat 12.
It has been found very advantageous to use brush bodies 4 as curlers in order to obtain waves in the hair, as represented in Figures 3 and 4.
In practice, the curler comprises a curler body 10 which is structurally analogous to the brush body 4, detachably connectable to a handle 2 through interconnection means 3.
The interconnection means 3 comprise at least one male element 14 insertable in a respective female seat in order to transfer the rotation, about its own longitudinal axis 100, of said handle 2 to the curler 0.
Connecting means of the magnetic type 20 act between the male element 14 and the respective female seat 12.
The use of the brush structure 1 or the use of a curler according to the invention descends evidently from the above description.
In particular, through the action of the connecting means of a magnetic type 20 comprising the magnetic body 9 received in the female seat 12 and the corresponding conducting element 6a close to the free end of the male element 14, the handle 2 is associated to a respective brush body 4 (with shape features adapted to the use) on which a respective lock of hair is wound in a known manner.
At this point, through a pushing action against the first annular abutment body 30 (represented in figure 3), for instance by using the thumb of the hand grasping the handle 2, the handle 2 is detached from the brush body 4 in a very practical, efficient way and the brush body 4 remains fixed in the lock of hair wound thereon.
Besides, the presence of the annular abutment bodies (30, 31) allows to keep the whole lock of hair on the brush body 2 and the possible addition of the heat accumulation means 8 comprising for instance one or more longitudinal bars 8a made of a conducting material allows to emit the necessary heat gradually and for a long time in order to obtain an efficient hair wave.
All the features of the invention, indicated as advantageous, appropriate or the like, may be omitted or substituted by equivalent features.
The so-conceived invention is susceptible of many modifications and variants, all of them being included in the scope of the inventive concept.
For instance, the handle 2 may have its end 2b that lies opposite to the end portion 2a which is tapered to a point, so as to facilitate the separation of the locks to be wound around said brush body 4.
In practice, it can be seen that the invention has reached the task and relative aims in all the embodiments.
In addition, all the details are replaceable with other technically equivalent elements.
When the technical features in the claims are followed by numerical references and/or abbreviations, said numerical references and/or abbreviations have been added just for the sake of a better intelligibility of the claims and therefore, said numerical references and/or abbreviations do not have any effect
on the scope of the elements identified by said numerical references and/or abbreviations.
