Abstract

The present invention relates to an in-car network device for a smart car, wherein a network is set up in a car to share contents, to support a tethering connection, and to enable a smart function in a car. The device of the present invention comprises: a network interface unit for setting up a network in a car; a storage for storing data; an audio codec for processing audio data to reproduce an audio signal; a speaker which transforms a reproduction signal of the audio codec into sound; a video codec which reproduces video data to display a still image or a video on an LCD; an adjustment unit for inputting an adjustment; and a microprocessor which sets the network interface unit to a client mode or an access point mode, and accesses the Internet through a smart phone connected by the network interface unit to use a service or to share and reproduce contents stored in the smart phone according to adjustments by the adjustment unit. The network interface unit according to the present invention is built in a telematics terminal provided in a car to set up a wireless network therein, so that a smart phone or the like can connect to an internal network to enable an Internet access service through tethering, and contents are shared to enable multimedia contents to be viewed through a relatively larger LCD, thereby providing convenience.
