  • This configuration of the flaps 41 is due to the fact that they must not interfere with the group of packages when they open (see Fig. 3b), in other words when the group passes on to the pallet 3, and must also allow the carriage 15 to be kept sufficiently close to the underlying pallet to prevent the groups from falling from an excessive height on to the pallet 3.

  • Four groups of packages P1 , P2, P3 and P4 each formed by two packages Pa and Pb placed beside each other on a specified contact plane G, are positioned on the loading system 34. If it is desired to form a stack of layers with four groups of packages in each layer on the pallet 3, these groups P1 -P4 will form the first layer of groups.

  • the conveyor belt 6 is actuated to transfer the first group of packages P1 on to the two flaps 41 ; this situation is shown in Figures 6 and 7.
  • the flaps 41 are rotated by the actuators 43 so as to move from the horizontal position to the vertical position and allow the first group of packages P1 to fall on to the corner of the pallet 3 located under the flaps 41 (see Fig. 8). After the group of packages has been discharged, the flaps are rotated back to the horizontal position.
  • the rotatable plate 20 is then rotated by means of the bearing 16 through 90° in the direction of the arrow R (see Fig. 9), in such a way that the pallet 3 rotates and the loading corner of the pallet, positioned under the flaps 41 , is free again to receive a new group of packages.
  • the flaps 41 are again in the horizontal position and ready to receive a new group of packages.
  • the second group of packages P2 of the first layer of groups (see Fig. 10) is transferred by the conveyor belt 6 on to the pair of flaps 41 , and the group P2 is then discharged, in a similar way to what has been described concerning the group P1 , on to the pallet 3 placed on the conveyor belt 21 positioned under the rotatable platform.
  • This platform (see Fig. 1 1 ) is again rotated through 90° in the direction of the arrow R, in such a way that the loading area of the pallet 3 is again free.
  • the first layer of groups of packages P1 , P2 P3 and P4 is deposited on the pallet 3.
  • Fig. 14 shows the pallet 3 with the first three groups of packages P1 -P3 deposited on it and with the fourth and final group P4 placed on top of the flaps 41 .
  • the fourth group of packages P4 is deposited on the pallet 3 (see Fig. 15), and the first layer of groups P1 -P4 is then complete.
  • This second layer of groups of packages has to be correctly positioned on top of the first layer of four groups of packages P1 , P2, P3 and P4 described above.
  • the pushing means 35 transfer the groups of packages Q1 -Q4 on to the conveyor belt 6 in the same orientation as that of the groups P1 -P4 in Fig. 5.
  • the feed station 2 In order to form the second layer of groups of packages Q1 -Q4 (see Fig. 16), the feed station 2 must be located at a greater height than that shown in Fig. 1 .
  • the movable frame 5 for supporting the conveyor belt 6 is translated upwards along the uprights 4 by means of the carriages 10 which are moved by the motors 1 1 .
  • the extent of this translation is at least equal to the height of the groups of packages, in such a way that sufficient space is provided between the fixed frame 14 and the first layer of groups P1 -P4 formed on the pallet 3 for the placing of the second layer of groups Q1 -Q4.
  • the second layer of groups of packages Q1 -Q4 must be positioned in such a way that any contact plane J of any pair of packages Qa and Qb is orthogonal to the contact plane G of a pair of packages Pa and Pb of a group located under the first layer.

  • the contact plane J of the first group of packages Q1 must cross over the contact plane G of the underlying group of the first layer of groups, and therefore this group Q1 must be positioned on the group P1 , and not on the first group P4 which is located on the loading corner of the pallet nearest the conveyor belt 6.

Abstract

La présente invention a trait à un équipement permettant d'emballer de multiples couches d'emballages sur des lits, des palettes ou similaire, lequel équipement comprend une station (2) permettant de fournir les emballages ou les groupes d'emballages (P1-P4, Q1-Q4, T1-T4, U1-U4) en direction d'au moins une palette (3) ; cette palette (3) est positionnée sur un moyen (16, 20, 21) qui est conçu de manière à pouvoir subir un certain mouvement de rotation et/ou de translation et, en aval de la station d'alimentation (2) et en amont de la palette (3), un cadre (14) est positionné de manière à supporter un chariot (15) qui est équipé d'éléments (41) permettant de supporter chaque emballage ou groupe d'emballages ; les éléments de support (41) sont conçus de manière à se déplacer depuis une position fermée permettant de supporter les emballages ou groupes d'emballages (P1-P4, Q1-Q4, T1-T4, U1-U4) jusqu'à une position ouverte où les emballages ou groupes d'emballages (P1-P4, Q1-Q4, T1-T4, U1-U4) sont transférés du chariot (15) jusqu'à la palette (3) sous-jacente, et vice versa ; le chariot (15) est équipé d'un moyen (37, 38) qui lui permet de subir un degré de mouvement sur le cadre (14) de manière à ce que chaque emballage ou groupe de toute couche d'emballages ou de groupes (P1-P4, Q1-Q4, T1-T4, U1-U4) puisse être positionné sur tout angle de charge de la palette (3), soit en position rétractée soit en position avancée.
