Abstract
The vent for ventilating contaminated wastewater of the present invention is a vent which is installed at or around a location requiring air so as to effectively maintain pressure equilibrium within the pipe without any damage or change to the trap water seal due to quick fluctuations, and regulates the flow of contaminated wastewater to prevent backflow. The vent comprises: a vent main body which supplies the necessary air when there is negative pressure inside the pipe; an upper cap coupled to the upper portion of the vent main body so as to provide a space in which the vent main body can operate, and which functions as a passage for air entering from the outside and prevents the upper portion of the ventilation vent main body from being exposed to the outside; and an adapter coupled to the lower portion of the vent main body which forms a connection with an existing contaminated wastewater pipe and which provides a passage through which the air that enters through the vent main body can enter the contaminated wastewater pipe. The vent main body comprises: a lower body through which air is admitted and which forms a passage through which the air that is admitted enters the pipe; an air inlet portion formed at the upper outer portion of the lower body and through which air enters; an impurity blocking portion formed at the upper inside of the lower body and forming a passage through which the air that enters through the air inlet portion flows to the lower portion of the lower body and prevents impurities from flowing toward the upper cap when there is positive pressure inside the pipe; and an air sheet installed at the upper portion of the air inlet opening for preventing the leakage of contaminated wastewater inside the pipe when there is positive pressure inside the pipe, and for allowing air to be admitted when there is negative pressure. A 3-point fixing pin is formed at the air inlet opening to prevent the warping or disengaging of the air sheet and to hold the air sheet so as to block the air from entering even when the vent is installed askew. The vent for ventilating the contaminated wastewater of the present invention replaces the ventilation pipes for various washbasins, toilets, sinks, and other sanitary facilities to thereby reduce the costs related to material, labor, and installation, does not have to be installed vertically so as to resolve the various restrictions imposed on design and installation, and can easily prevent the backflow of wastewater and contaminated wastewater via the steady supply of air.
