Abstract
Floor comprising a support construction and provided with means for controlling the temperature of said floor, said means comprising at least one conduit (5) for liquid either electric current and at least one container (3) containing a heat storage material, in particular a material that will change in phase during heating up to a given temperature. Said containers (3) are having an oblong flat shape and are positioned on said conduit (5), such that their top surfaces form part of the floor surface.
Description
Floor provided with heating means or such like.
The invention relates to a floor comprising a support construction and provided with means for controlling the temperature of said floor, said means comprising at least one conduit for liquid either electric current and at least one container containing a heat storage material .
Such a floor is known from JP 2009074743 A. In this it is shown that said container is disposed on the top face of a heat insulating board and that the top surface of said container is provided with a groove for receiving a water pipe for heating the floor.
Further it is indicated that the heat of a temperature of 25-35 C is stored in the heat storage material in the night and that the stored heat is released in daytime.
Now the object of the invention is to increase the amount of heat which can be stored and to that end it is provided for that said heat storage material is a material that will change in phase during heating up to a given temperature.
Said construction can also be used in case of an installation in which the heating device will no longer deliver heat when an adjusted temperature is reached. Then the temperature will decrease rather rapidly. Now said storage material normaly will be liquid. When now the temperature is lowering said storage material will become solid and by this energy will be released to overcome said rapid decrease of temperature.
Obviously in stead of a heating medium also a cooling medium can be present in the conduit when this is in the shape
of a tube .
According to a prefered embodiment said container is having an oblong flat shape and is positioned on said conduit, such that its top surface forms part of the floor surface.
Generally speaking a number of containers will be present devided over the conduit either conduits by which energy is supplied to either discharged from the floor.
On the top surface of said containers a floor covering can be provided. This can easely be removed when one wants to change said containers.
Between said containers and the floor covering a layer of a sound damping material can be provided.
Concerning said containers it is remarked that these are indicated as PC -elements, in which PCM means Phase Changing Material, and in particular these elements contain calcium chloride, the melting temperature of which can be adjusted by additional materials.
Said elements e.g. can be delivered by the firm Autarkis at Zoetermeer, Netherland.
Further a contact plate can be provided consisting of a good energy guiding material, such as aluminium, said contact plate lying on the support plate and being bent at the place of a groove such that it extends it self below the related conduit and engages the related container.
It is possible to connect said contact plate to said container by means of glueing or in an other way. Obviously in this case it will be more difficult to change said containers.
The invention is further illustrated by means of an
embodiment, shown in the drawing, in which:
Fig. 1 schematically shows a top view of a part of a floor with the related heating system, in which for the sake of clearness some parts are omitted; and
Fig. 2 schematically shows a sectional view along line
II - II in figure 1.
In the left upper part of figure 1 a part of the floor 1 is shown and in particular the floor covering 2, which can be formed by one single layer, but also by several layers of various materials. In the part of figure 1 below the part described before, floor covering 2 is omitted, such that in particular the PCM-elements 3 are visible. These and other parts are also visible in figure 2.
The PCM-elements 3 engage contact plates 4 of aluminium. As in particular appears from figure 2 said contact plates 4 are bent at the place of a conduit 5 such that they extend below the conduit 5.
As in particular appears from figure 2 the contact plates 4, seen in top view, will substantially have the same dimensi- ons as the PCM-elements 3.
The conduit 5 is taken up in sleeves 6, present in a support layer 7, provided on the floor construction 8 of a building.
Said support layer 7 might consist of a plastic foam, either of a woodfiber plate or such like material suitable for said object.
Said sleeves 6 are upwardly widened, such that also said PCM-elements 3 and said contact plates 4 can be fittingly
received in these. So the upper surface of the PCM-elements connects the upper surface of said support layer 7.
Further between said PCM-elements 3 and the floor covering 2 a not indicated layer of a sound damping material can be provided.
Obviously only one possible embodiment of a floor heating system according to the invention is shown in the drawing and is described above and obviously many modifications can be applied without leaving the inventive concept as this is described in the claims .
