Abstract
Provided is a continuously variable transmission having a structure wherein: use is made of a lever crank tool whereby linked coupling is achieved between an input link, a plurality of coupler links and output links which are provided in the same number as the coupler links; the input link performs a rotating movement; a variable pin for effecting linked coupling of the input link and the plurality of coupler links is disposed eccentrically from the centre of rotation of the input link, in which state the same is capable of resilient variability in the radial direction of the rotating movement of the input link, in accordance with a load, while not being capable of orbiting and rotating movements; a link pin, for effecting linked coupling of the plurality of coupler links and the plurality of output links, and a one-way clutch bearing are interposed such that a plurality of clutch gears, which circumscribe the output shafts of the plurality of output links, orbit around a centre of orbiting which is the same as the centre of rotation of the input link; and an output gear meshes with the plurality of clutch gears, and hence the present invention makes it structurally easy to ensure that the variable pin which is the most important element, which is to say the variable pin for effecting linked coupling of the input link and the coupler links, is positioned eccentrically from the centre of rotation of the input link.
