Description

A76 P9PCT LG/KOE
Device in connection with a vertical swing support for a window- frame .
This invention relates to a device for a window or another covering element, which has a window casement or another outside casement that is intended for covering elements, which casement is receivable in a window frame or another frame, pivotably mounted around a vertical pivot mounting, as well as a cover casement that is pivotably mounted inside said window casement and extends along said window casement .
Windows tend to become larger and larger, also such ones that are opened by being allowed to be turned around a pivot mounting at the centre of the window casement. Unfortunately, the window often tends to sag because of the weight thereof and because of weather and wind, which, among other things, causes leakage of air as well as damp.
Known solutions for windows do not allow efficient and safe carrying and closure of such large windows without the sealing along the window being deteriorated when using such large windows, and therefore the utilization of large windows is limited. In addition, it is not allowed to optionally close the desired lock fittings on such occasions when this is desirable.
Accordingly, the main object of the present invention is to solve, among others, the problem mentioned above by simple and efficiently functioning means .
Said object is attained by means of a device as mentioned above that essentially is characterized in that, along a vertical edge side as well as horizontal edge sides of said cover casement, lock fittings are arranged on the side thereof facing the window casement, which fittings are arranged to sealingly be locked against the window frame, and that a mechanism is arranged that controls said lock fittings.
The invention is described below in the form of a preferred embodiment example, reference being made to the accompanying drawings, in which,
Figs. 1-5 show in perspective a window having a device according to the invention and with the window in different positions, and
Figs. 6-8 show in more detail the function of parts included in the device.
The invention gives, among other things, the possibility of achieving the following advantages:
- By using the indicated form of turning technique, i.e., to turn the window casement around about its own pivot axis, the window casement can be made so large that it fits the maximal sizes of glass plates that the glass manufacturers and suppliers allow to manufacture and deliver.
- Casement weights of over 1 ton can now be a possibility as for constructing windows.
- By using the locking technique indicated now, multipoint locking - unlimited, an airproof and waterproof window can be guaranteed. No sagging profiles any more .
- In the cover casement, Venetian blinds or other sun or light-covering means may possibly be used.
A device 1 for a quadrangular window 2 or any other suitable openable covering element, which has a window casement 5 including a pane 6 or any other outside casement that is intended for covering elements, which casement is receivable in a window frame 3 or any other frame, pivotably mounted around a vertical pivot mounting 4, as well as a cover casement 9 that is also pivotably mounted 5 around a vertical pivot mounting 8 and inside 7 said window casement, and that extends around along the circumference of said window casement 5, comprises a plurality of lock fittings 10-12 that are arranged in a special way. More precisely, the lock fittings 10-12 are arranged along a vertical edge side 13 as well as
horizontal edge sides 14, 15 of said cover casement 9, on the side 5A thereof facing the window casement 5.
Said lock fittings 10-12 are arranged to sealingly be locked against the window frame 3. Then, a mechanism 16 is arranged that controls said lock fittings 10-12.
Said lock fittings 10-12 are comprised of separate house-shaped lock cases 17-19 that extend along the respective said edge sides 13-15 and comprise a number of locking bars 20 that are foldable in and out,
respectively, and arranged for the receipt in a mating recess 21 each in said window frame 3.
Suitably, said locking bars 20 are
pivotably mounted, but they may also be arranged
displaceably mounted, such as a safe box locking bar.
Separate control means 22 are arranged for the respective vertical one and horizontal ones,
respectively, of the lock fittings 10-12, and a detachable lock handle 23 is arranged to be connected to the desired control means 22. The lock handle 23 may be formed of an insertable and removable, respectively, lever receivable in mating recesses 24 of the control means 22, and the square-section bar 25 thereof. Along three of the edge sides 13-15 of the window, lock fittings 10-12 are arranged, while the remaining vertical edge side 25 of a square-shaped window is provided with a vertical pivot mounting 8 for
horizontal pivoting of the cover casement 9. The
respective lock case 17-19 comprises at least two locking bars 20 situated at a mutual distance A from each other, and the lock fittings 10-12 are arranged to extend along the main part of the respective vertical cover casement side 13 and horizontal cover casement sides 14-15, respectively. Suitably, the cover casement 9 may carry a Venetian blind, not shown, or any other covering and openable, respectively, light-dimming and obscuring unit.
The function and proceeding of the invention should have been clear from what has been mentioned above. In addition, the invention is naturally not limited to the embodiments described above and shown in the accompanying drawings. Modifications are feasible, particularly as for the nature of the different parts, or by using an equivalent technique, without departing from the protection area of the invention, such as it is defined in the claims.
The invention is especially suitable for windows that are provided with heat-reflecting layers on one of the glass sides and that are utilized in the summer, while the window is turned 180° in the colder season.
