Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Brennkraftmotor mit einem ersten Zylinder (1), einem zweiten Zylinder (2), dessen Kolben (4) sich bezogen auf die Umkehrpunkte seiner Bewegung etwa synchron mit dem Kolben des ersten Zylinders bewegt und einer am Ende eines Verdichtungstakts des ersten Zylinders öffnenden Überströmverbindung zwischen den Expansionsräumen der Zylinder. Erfindungsgemäß ist die Überslrömverbindung wahlweise dauerhaft verschließbar und/oder der zweite Zylinder weist eine wahlweise aktivierbare eigene Kraftstoffzuführung auf.
