Zwischen der oberen Deckschicht 2a und der unteren Deckschicht 2b ist die Kernschicht 3 angeordnet. Die obere und die untere Deckschicht 2a und 2b sind dabei vorteilhafterweise aus Aluminium gefertigt, während die Kernschicht 3 aus einem Aluminiumschaum besteht, der eine erheblich geringere Massedichte aufweist und somit zur Gewichtsreduktion erheblich beiträgt.
