Abstract

Provided are an apparatus for predicting a defect location of a cable and a method thereof. The apparatus for predicting a defect location of a cable includes: a sensor unit including a metal foil sensor for measuring an electrical signal generated by the cable and ultrasonic sensors for measuring ultrasonic signals generated by the cable; and a defect location predicting unit for measuring the defect location of the cable using a partial discharge signal measured by the metal foil sensor and partial discharge signals measured by the ultrasonic sensors.
