Description

Sneeze Spread Control Device
Previous state
The spread of the particles flying outside the mouth during sneezing is directly related to the spread of flu deceases. The commonly used method to reduce this spread of particles is by means of using soft tissues.
This old method, however, has its own disadvantage being that the soft tissue comes in direct contact with the hand, hence, the flu germs are transmitted to the user's hands, and the germs are therefore transmitted from one person to another.
For this purpose we have come up with this device which prohibits or reduces the spread of germs at sneezing, to reduce the spread of flu.
Sneeze Spread Control Device
Detailed functions of the device:
We shall first introduce the detailed parts of this invention so that we become aware of the name of each part as well as its function. Second, we shall put these parts together to have the complete unit assembled, and third, we shall explain how the device works.
First: the device is made up of Four different parts:
1. Frame (drawing 1)
2. Cover (drawing 2)
3. Capsule (drawing 3)
4. Metal clamp (drawing 4)
A detailed explanation of each part as following:
It is made up of one piece as in drawing (1 ). It is consisting of:
1) Capsule storage Area: this is the space where reserve capsules are kept. It is
located in the middle of the frame, surrounded from the top by the upper plate and from down the bottom plate, and from right and left the fresh and used capsule chambers. It is closed from the back side and opened from the front side as per drawing (1).
2) Upper Plate: it comprises the upper side of the frame as per drawing (1). The
Sterilized Gauze slides over the surface of this part as will be explained later.
3) Lower plate: it comprises the lower part of the frame, as per drawing (1 ).

8) Clamp holders: inside of fresh and used capsule chambers as per drawing (1 ) for the purpose of fixing the metal clamp in the frame inside the chambers.
- Metal clamp : as per drawing (4)
It is one part as per drawing (2) consisting of:
1 ) Sneezing area: it is the upper open area as per drawing (2). Sneezing is performed towards the inside of this area so that the sneeze particles are forced towards the sterilized gauze which is spread on top of the upper plate as will be explained later. 2) Used capsule cover wall: the part which closes the used capsule chamber when the cover is closed
3) Fresh capsule cover wall: the part which closes the fresh capsule chamber when the cover is closed.
4) Capsule storage Area wall: the part which closes the capsule storage area when the cover is closed.
5) Cover holders -2: two parts to hold the cover into the frame, to enable the cover to be opened and closed easily
3« Capsule:-
The capsule is made up of two parts as following:
1 ) Beam- one piece as per drawing (3) consisting of:
a) Shaft: cylindrical parts on which the gauze is wound onto as per drawing (3) b) Beam hoiders: two parts to fix the beam into the metal clamp, therefore, the beam or capsule is fixed inside the chambers.
c) Rotator: part helping to rotate the beam so that the beam draws the sterilized gauze from capsule as will be explained later.
2) Sterilized Gauze: it is a sterilized fabric which is wound onto the beam. This is the part which will hold the sneeze particles to prevent them from spreading into the air, as per drawing (3).
Figure imgf000005_0001
One metal piece as per drawing (4) consisting of:
1 ) Metai clamp Fixer: to fix the metal clamp onto the frame inside the chambers.
2) Beam holder catcher : the area where the beam holder is inserted to support the
capsule or beam inside the chambers
3) Upper and tower springs: two parts to provide some pressure onto the beam holder to prevent free rotation of the beam or the capsule (to hold the beam and capsule). The purpose is to give continuous tension to the sterilized gauze so that it remains well spread over the surface of the upper plate.
Secor d: We shall now put all parts together to form the device as following:
- Place the frame horizontally as per drawing (5)
- Fix the cover onto the frame by the cover holders 1 and 2 as per drawing (6) - (A, B) - Fix the metal clamp onto the frame inside the chambers of the fresh and used
capsules. The clamp holder is inserted inside the metal clamp fixer area. Two clamps are placed in each chamber as per drawing (7) - (A, B)
- Insert the beam horizontally inside the used capsule chamber. The two beam holders are inserted inside the Beam Holder catcher area through the side opening as per drawing (8) - (A, B)
- A fresh capsule is inserted into the fresh capsule chamber where the capsule Beam holders pushed inside the beam holder catcher through the side opening as per drawing (9)- (A,B)
- The sterilized Gauze which is wound around the fresh capsule is pulled and stretched above the upper plate of the frame. The Gauze is then hooked into the beam which is placed inside the used capsule chamber by means of special hooks on the shaft surface, then the beam is rotated so that the sterilized gauze is stretched and spread over the upper plate as per drawing (10) - (A,B).
- Reserve capsules are placed inside the capsule storage area as per drawing (1 1) - We close the cover as per drawing (12) - (A,B)
Device is now ready to be used.
JM l Explanation how device can be used: - The device will be hand or arm carried at any time. It can be fixed into the wrist or arm by means of strips or band that is inserted into the strip holders. Sneeze ^pVead fJontrol Device
- When the user wishes to sneeze then he/she has to sneeze into the sneeze hole.
The sneeze particles are spread into the sterilized gauze that is spread on top of the upper plate.
- After sneezing we rotate the Beam by hand where fresh sterilized gauze is introduced from the fresh capsule. The used gauze is wound around the used capsule shaft.
- When the sterilized gauze is finished the capsule must be replaced with a fresh one from the capsule storage area. Then the sterilized gauze is spread towards the beam in the used capsule area in the same old way. The cover is closed, and the device is ready to be used again.
- The procedure to use and operate the device is very simple and should only take few seconds to be completed.
*There is an optional configuration to this device whereby a small motor is used to rotate the shaft instead of manually rotating it. The motor is battery operated and can be activated by means of pushing a button as per drawing (13) (A, B).
When it is needed to rotate the shaft after sneezing to reach a clean and sterilized area of the gauze the button can be pushed so that the motor will pull a fresh section of the sterilized gauze and wind the used part onto the used gauze shaft.
Fixing of this motor is as easy as placing the cover onto the frame, as per drawing (14) (A, B, C, D).
^The device which is described above can be used daily; therefore it can be called "the daily use device"
*There is a simple version of this device which can be used for less period of time such as in flight, or while using public transportation for example. It can be called "Trip Light"
We will get to know the various parts of this device and its application as following:
Device is composed of three main parts, as per drawing (15):
Frame; it is one part consisting of:
-Chamber: the area where the sterilized material is kept
- Wall: the surface surrounding the chamber
- Strip Holder: the parts where the strap is inserted so that the device can be arm fixed or carried. Sneeze Spread Control Device
2 Sterilized material: one part that is placed inside the chamber where sneezing is directed to it. This material is consisting of:
a. Lower area
b. Side area
3 Cover: one part to close the chamber, consisting of:
a. Side plate
b. Upper plate Putting together and operating procedure:
- Sterilized material is placed inside of the chamber
- The chamber is closed by the cover
- The device is carried, preferably by using the strip around the wrist or arm as per drawing 16 (A, B, C)
- when the person wishes to sneeze he/she will open the cover, sneeze into the direction of the chamber whereby the sneeze particles flying outside the mouth will go in the direction of the sterilize material, therefore, the particles are contained and sterilized instead of getting spread in the air. This way the sneeze particles are kept inside the chamber.
