- the light guide sample B13 has a broad emission profile as compared to the light guide sample B14, and is emitted broadly on the side opposite to the light incident end face. This is based on the fact that in the light guide sample B13, fine bubbles are locally included in the vicinity of the light incident end face side inclined surface of the foam surface layer 244 of the light emitting mechanism portion, and thus propagated through the light guide. This is because the emitted light is emitted while being efficiently scattered.
- an emission profile having a peak near the normal direction of the light emission surface can be obtained with a single light guide plate without using a diffusion sheet or a prism sheet, and a surface light source device having a wide viewing angle can be obtained.
